USER MANUAL

GETTING STARTED
IIIT B and UpGrad are a registered partners with AWS & Cloudops AI for the PGDDS program.

There are two stages to getting started and gaining full control of selected
AWS cloud services and AWS credits allocated to you by IIIT B

Stage 1 : Signing up for the AWS Educate

Stage 2 : Getting started with Cloudops AI

Signing up for the AWS Educate
STAGE 1 (read the entire manual before you start)
Step 0 - IIITB email account

• Please ensure that you are able to login to your IIITB email account.
• Contact your student mentor if you need help on this front.
• Do NOT proceed further if you are not able to access your IIITB email account.
• Even if you have accessed your IIITB account recently, ensure that right before filling the form
you are able to access it.

Step 1 - Registration Form

A. Please visit the below URL.

B. Fill the Registration Form


• Institute Name: International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore
• City: Bangalore
• Country: India (Do not fill something else)
• State: Not Required
• First Name: Exactly as registered with Learning Partner
• Last Name: Exactly as registered with Learning Partner
• Field of Study: Information Technology
• Grade Level: Graduate
• Birth Month: Your birth month
• Birth Year: Your birth year
• Email: College Domain Valid Email ID (Personal/Corporate ID’s will lead to
rejection)- Fill your IIITB email ID. Before filling this form ensure that you
are able to log in to your IIIT B email account.
• Grad Month: October (10)
• Grad Year: 2018
• Promo Code: Please leave this empty

C. Check mark the “I’m not a robot” option and click submit.

Step 1 - Registration Form (Extreme Caution)

3/3 Choose one of the following

Do NOT select the “Click here to


select an AWS Educate Starter
Account” option.

A. Select method I : Click here to enter an AWS Account ID


B. Input the AWS account ID received on the first email from CloudOps. AWS account ID is a 12 digit number
C. Click on next button to complete the registration process

Step 2 - Verification and Accepting AWS Terms & Conditions

A. You will receive an email from AWS for verification.

B. In your email, you will find the link to terms and condition page of AWS
Educate Program. click on the link to complete the registration process

A. Please go through the terms and condition and Click on “I Agree” to B. You will be redirected to a thank you - confirmation screen on
accept the terms of AWS educate and complete the process. AWS educate platform.

Note: Declining the T&C will lead to rejection of your AWS


Educate account.

Step 2 - Verification and Accepting AWS Terms & Conditions

A. You will also receive a confirmation email from AWS (above


image).
B. In a time period of 24 hours, you will receive an application status
update from AWS (Image on the right)
C. Please note that if your application is rejected, forward that email
at the earliest to [email protected] (Your only designated
contact for AWS Educate)
D. If your application is accepted, you will receive an email from Caution: Please ignore everything in the above email except that your account
AWS Educate with a PromoCode on your IIIT B email ID has been approved. It is an an informational email from AWS educate. DO NOT
click on rest of the links and “free stuff” being offered there. They are not part of
the course. In case there is a doubt contact your student mentor.

Step 3 - Promocode

A.Please submit the promocode that you receive from


AWS educate on the link given in point C of the very
first email that you received from CloudOps (as
shown on the right)
B.Your IIITB email will be prefilled there minus
“@iiitb.ac.in”
C.Paste the promocode there and submit.
D.That is it for now. This marks the end of Stage 1 of
your onboarding. You will soon receive an email
with link, username and password to your AWS
Educate console.

Common Errors and things to keep in mind

A. Please follow every tiny instruction given so far to a T. Go through the manual twice before starting the
process. In case of a doubt it is better to contact your Student mentor than doing something incorrectly.
B. Any instance of error will lead to a indefinite delay in us giving you the AWS account. We really do not want
that to happen :)
C. Use IIITB email ID only everywhere. Using your personal email ID will read to rejection of your application. In
case you are in doubt or there is an issue with your ID, contact your student mentor.
D. At no stage will you be required you use your credit card. If you land at a page where it prompts you to do so,
you are doing something incorrectly. Contact your student mentor. In no scenario should you enter your
credit card details anywhere on AWS platform within the purview of this program.
E. We understand that this process is a little inconvenient and we are more that willing to do everything on your
behalf, however AWS insists that students do this process themselves. Your cooperation is much
appreciated.

Please proceed to the next step after you receive the email from CloudOps with link, username and password to your AWS
Educate console.

STAGE 2 Getting started with CloudOps AI
Step 1 - Onboarding Email

Welcome Email:

As soon as you are done with the AWS educate process, you will receive an
email from the Cloudops AI platform in 3 days. Your email will include:

A. CloudOps Credential
• URL to cloudops Login
• Default Username
• Default Password

B. AWS Credential
• URL to AWS Login
• Default Username
• Default Password

Step 2 - Logging into Cloudops

1. Click on the CloudOps URL from the email and you will be
redirected to the CloudOps platform.
2. Log into your CloudOps dashboard by entering the username and
password.
3. Once you log into the platform you may change the password of
your account.

Step 2 - Resetting your AWS password

1. Click on “Credential Setting” from the side navigation of your

Platform Questions
1. How do I login to my AWS account ?
A. You can login to your AWS account by the using the IAM details that was sent to you by Cloudops AI as a part of your onboarding.

2. How do I check my credits that are added to my account ?


A. Below are the steps.
1. Login to your cloudops.ai account with the credentials used for signing up.
2. Once logged in, click on View Dashboard under Upfront Cloud Wallet.

3. You’ll be able to see the credits under the your Wallet Balance.

3. How do I reset my Cloudops password ?


A. On the login page, you can click on ‘Forget Password’.

4. How do I will generate my AWS Access Key ?
A. Following are the steps to generate AWS Access Key :
1. Login to your AWS account & navigate to My security credentials
2. Once you are on the Security Credentials Page Navigate to the Access Keys tab
3. Secret Key is generated once when you create any new access key. If you don’t have a secret key then click on Create New Access Key, it will generate a new pair
of Access Key and Secret Key which you need to download.

5. How do I fix the error “Terminated with errors Failed to provision ec2 instances because 'The requested instance profile EMR_EC2_DefaultRole is

A. In the IAM Management Console, choose Roles from the left navigation pane. Select the EMR_DefaultRole and EMR_EC2_DefaultRole roles, choose Role Actions, and
then choose Delete Role from the drop-down menu.

6. Where do I find my AWS Access key ?


A. Login to your AWS account & navigate to My security credentials. Once you are on the Security Credentials, Page Navigate to the Access Keys tab to find the AWS
Access Key.

7. How do I generate my AWS Secret Token ?


A. Secret Key is generated once when you create any new access key. If you don’t have a secret key then click on Create New Access Key, it will generate a new pair of
Access Key and Secret Key which you need to download.

8. What is the difference between AWS Access key and AWS Secret Token ?
A. Access keys consist of an access key ID (for example, AKIAIOSFODNN7EXAMPLE) and a secret access key (for example,
wJalrXUtnFEMI/K7MDENG/bPxRfiCYEXAMPLEKEY). You use access keys to sign programmatic requests that you make to AWS if you use the AWS SDKs, REST, or
Query API operations. The AWS SDKs use your access keys to sign requests for you, so that you don't have to handle the signing process.

9. After how much usage will my account be temporarily blocked ?
A. Your account will be blocked if the account balance reaches INR 300 or less.

10. How can I reinstate my account from a blocked stage?


A. By recharging your wallet with sufficient funds to run the services you want.

11. What is the minimum amount one has to recharge with to reinstate the account ?
A. There is no such minimum amount, however we advise you to recharge with a sufficient amount so your services don’t get suspended.

12. Is tax amount included in the credits that have been provided by AWS?
A. The credits provided by AWS will include all taxes. The credits will be applied in full sum to your AWS account.

13. What percent of tax will I be charged after I recharge my account (India)?
A. There will be 18% GST deducted from the credits and the remainder of the amount will be added to your Prepaid account.

14. I'm interested in calculating and possibly developing an app for IOS/Android.
