the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking, Child Pornography and
Violence Against Women and their Children (RIACAT-CP-VAWC) is committed to
address all forms of violence against women and children and to strengthen the
Administration’s goal to protect the human rights of women and children as
enshrined in the 1987 Constitution and other national laws, the Framework Plan for
Women and other policies and programs, the Convention on the Elimination of All
Forms of Discrimination against Women, and other international legal instruments of
which the Philippines is a signatory.

To emphasize that human trafficking is a human rights violation and to ensure better
protection for victims/survivors, the Philippines has joined the international
community since 2013 in the observance of the World Day Against Trafficking
every 30th day of July, pursuant to the United Nations General Assembly Resolution
No. A/RES/68/192. This resolution declared that such a day is necessary to “raise
awareness of the situation of victims of human trafficking and for the promotion and
protection of their rights.”

This year’s theme: “Isang Bayan, Isang Paninindigan, Laban sa Trafficking ng

Mamamayan,” aims to raise awareness of the human trafficking situation in the
Philippines, to highlight the gains, as well as reinforce the alliances and partnerships
among government agencies, civil society, and the international community in the
fight against human trafficking.
In this regard, we would like to invite PSWDO Vivian L. Klaros or any representative
to attend the Technical Working Group Virtual Meeting on July 14, 2020 at 9:00 AM
