It is without a doubt that at present COVID-19, is the problem that the world is currently
facing. Because of this, it is the topic that I chose for the set of activities. Both the journal reading
and gallery walk activity requires each student to look for reliable sources and extract the knowledge
learned.

Last December 2019, news broke out that there was a case of a new disease, and, since
then, I always kept myself updated with the latest news and relevant information. Reading journals,
articles, posts, and seeing what is currently happening is overwhelming. Upon doing the activities
and browsing the different materials, I learned the latest pertinent information about COVID 19 - the
progress on the clinical trials and new symptoms.

The materials that I read highlighted the devastating impact of the pandemic on the health
care system and economy. The healthcare systems, especially in the less developed countries, are
overwhelmed by the number of cases, lack of protective equipment, and treatment. Seeing
healthcare workers risk their lives to save the lives of other people is a heartwarming scene to watch
yet, it is also heartbreaking. Through these activities, I learned more information on how each
country and its healthcare systems are pushing through. On the other hand, economies suffered a
devastating loss that led to people losing their jobs and businesses closing. Looking at the pictures, it
is an unpleasant sight to see people looking lost and without a gleam of hope in their faces as
COVID-19 swept through their lives.

In this time of crisis, being up to date with the current information is a must. It allowed me
to realize that being updated is one thing but, sharing my knowledge with other people is one of the
help that I can provide. Every piece of information is valuable, and not everyone has the privilege to
access information. Therefore sharing can go a long way. Also, encouraging everyone else to follow
preventive measures.

In this generation, information can be accessible in a single click, but it should also be
reliable. With available news, journals, and articles, there is always room for new learnings. In sum,
these activities are a good start, for it allowed us to gain and explore information about the topics
chosen.
