Deaerator Heating Procedure
Deaerator Heating Procedure
GENERAL:
During Unit start-up dissolved oxygen (DO 2) at deaerator feedwater storage tank is
recommended to be reduced to < 20 ppb. Hence, after completion of boiler water
washing and filling of steam drum to it’s normal water level, deaerator feedwater
storage tank heating to reduce DO2 should be carried-out. This should be performed
the day before the unit scheduled start-up.
PREPARATION:
1. Boiler water washing has been satisfied and boiler steam drum is filled-up to it’s normal
level. Then Start-up and Main Feedwater Control Valves are confirmed at closed
position.
2. Deaerator Feed Water Storage Tank Level is kept at –200 mm. And the following valves
are close by manual at OPS to avoid make-up to feedwater storage tank during heating
stage.
Deaerator Feed water Tank Level Control Valve (LCV-D-214).
Deaerator Make-up Water Supply Valve (MOV-W-220).
Clean Drain Recovery Valve (MOV-C-085) for the particular unit. (Note: This
valve must be checked mostly if the integrated unit for Clean Drain System is in
Normal Operation).
3. Condensate pump is inservice condition under minimum flow recirculation. Condenser
hotwell is maintained at normal water level.
4. Three BFP is inservice condition under minimum flow recirculation with minimum H/C
position.
5. Inservice Auxiliary Steam Header.
a) Open Common Aux Steam Header Isolate Valve Bypass Valve (MOV-A-103)
for warming the auxiliary steam header line.
b) Open through inching operation Common Auxiliary Header Isolate Valve (MOV-A-
102). Afterwards close Bypass Valve MOV-A-103.
