installation of dry chemical, and carbon dioxide (C02) portable fire extinguishers and
Suppression System with FM-200 as agent extinguisher. This system will be installed to
protect the Buildings of CLIENT, Venezuela.

The purpose of this document is not specifying the construction details of portable fire
extinguishers and FM-200 cylinders. It will be a Seller responsibility that all equipment
should be in accordance with the most advanced practice of design and construction for fire
protection system.

Items as: materials, service, etc, not indicated in this document, necessary for the
appropriate function of the fire protection equipment, should be supplied by Seller, without
additional cost.

4. OPERATION SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

4.1 PORTABLE EXTINGUISHER

The Portable Fire Extinguishers should be select by the class of fire and it will be
located in places that people can see and take it quickly, to give a fast response to
hazard area.

4.2 SUPPRESSION SYSTEM (FM-200)

Compressed FM-200 liquid is held in the cylinder by discharge valve. When discharge
valve is actuated by a control head, the valve piston is displaced, the compressed
liquid escapes through the discharge port of the valve and is directed through the
distribution piping to the nozzles.

When a system is operated automatically via the detection and control system,
personnel must evacuate the hazard area promptly upon hearing the alarm. Make
sure no one enters the hazard area. Call fire department immediately.

5. CONSTRUCTIVE CHARACTERISTICS

1.1. PORTABLE EXTINGUISHERS

It should be easy to operate and construction according to the ambient conditions, in
this way they can work safety.

It should be made of an adequate material to resist the severity of the ambient, like:
corrosion, temperature, humidity, and it should be able to contain the extinguisher
agent.

It should be provided with a security system to prevent accidental discharge.

It should be provided with a wall-mounting bracket to prevent its movement.

The remove parts that usually are pull out to recharge or to inspect that work under
pressure should have a device to decompress the system to operate it without
danger.

To decompress the thread parts, it shall be made in the first two turns.

5.1 SUPPRESSION SYSTEM (FM-200)

As it was understood FM-200 is composed by: storage cylinders, pipes, fittings and
nozzles. According to NFPA-2001, component that integrates suppression system
FM-200 should be as follows:

Cylinders should be charged of clean agent FM-200 according to manufacturer

standard.

Each storage container should have permanent nameplate that indicates the
following: the agent, tare and gross weights, superpressurization level.

Cylinders shall be designed, fabricated, inspected, certified, and stamped in

accordance with section VIII of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

Threads on all pipe and fitting must be tapered threads conforming to ANSI .

Pipes should be of noncombustible material having physical and chemical

characteristics, such that its integrity under stress can be predicted with reliability.

Black steel pipe must be ASTM A-53, and ordinary cast iron must not be used.

Fittings class 150 and cast iron fitting must not be used . Fitting used must be a
minimum 300 lb. Class conforming to ASTM A-197 and have a minimum working

color.

The portable fire extinguishers will be located in a red paint rectangle with a
dimension of 0,80 x 0,60 m and with a height of 0,90 m above the floor.

The portable fire extinguishers will be located 1,30 maximum in height and never less
than on 1 m above floor.

Distance between portable fire extinguishers and the Hazard area.

Class “A” fire

The maximum horizontal distances between the portable fire extinguisher and the
user no more than 20 m.

Class “B” fire

The piping must be securely braced to account for discharge reaction forces and
thermal expansion/contraction.
The pressure actuation pipe must be ¼ inch sch 40 or 80 sch pipe. The pipe or
tubing must be routed in the most direct manner with a minimum of fittings.
Position cylinders in designated location and secure in place with cylinder straps and
attaching hardware. Orient cylinders so that valve outlet is angled towards the EL-
check valve in manifold.
Remove safety cap from one cylinder outlet port and connect flexible discharge hose
to cylinder outlet port.
As general requirement equipment of suppression system (FM-200) must be
installed to facilitate proper inspection, testing, manual operation, recharging and any
other required maintenance as may be necessary.

7. TEST AND INSPECTION

Equipment should be thoroughly inspected, in order to verify the progress of manufacture

and will be tested to verify the quality.

Buyer should have free access to the locals of the manufacturer to verify the works and
test.

Inspection shall be made after the Buyer notifies that to Seller at least one week before.

The quality control Scheme shall contain all the tests and inspections necessary to
