Manual For The Participants of The Ijgd AS Webinar 2020
Zoom is the video conferencing tool that we will use in our meetings to attend the daily sessions and
discussions.
An internet connected computer, laptop, or device (there is a possibility that you will not
be able to have all the options clearly visible while using Zoom on the mobile phone so
the computer or a lap top is our recommendation; Wi-Fi vs. Ethernet – the wired
connection “the cable” gives you the more stabile connection to the Internet)
Your meeting ID number or URL of the meeting (link and numbers you received via
email are all the data necessary to enter the Zoom room)
OR
For Android, search "Zoom Meetings" on Google Play. It will direct you to
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=us.zoom.videomeetings
OR
If you're accessing zoom via a browser, we highly recommend Chrome as it's the most reliable one.
3. When the Monday comes (4.5.) 10 minutes before the specified time - open the email with
the details of the Zoom room and the password.
Click the link or URL to the Zoom room that you received in the email.
4. Bring a cup of water or some beverage with you, check your general mood and after some
time in the waiting room you will be selected to enter the Zoom room – your seminar leaders
are expecting you
For the ones who wish to know more:
The Zoom Menu Bar: The Zoom menu bar appears at the bottom of the Zoom window once
the meeting begins. If you don’t see the menu bar, move your mouse slightly and the bar will

Alt+H: Display/hide In
In-Meeting Chat panel
Find a quiet location from which to join your session, and make sure you have
access to a fast LAN connection or excellent Wi-Fi signal.
Check your internet speed. If you're on free wifi you may need to keep your
camera off to improve quality.
Log in to every session using your real name that will be then visible to other
participants.
Join a session a few minutes early to test your audio and video connections. You
should also make sure you have the latest Zoom app downloaded (Zoom.us menu
> Check for updates)
Use a headset (or ear buds) instead of speakers and a microphone. The connection
may sound fine to you, but speakers and a microphone generate too much static
for others.
Mute your audio unless you are speaking (or in line to speak) so as to prevent
unintentional background noise from disrupting the conversation.
When video is enabled, speak to the camera (and not to the screen)
