Statement of Learning Outcomes:
Speech according to language theorists sets human beings apart from other forms of
animals. Human beings are the only animals endowed with speech.

A. According to purpose
1.Expository/Informative Speech
2. Persuasive Speech
3. Entertainment Speech.
B. According to delivery
1. Reading from a manuscript
2. Memorized Speech

4. Extemporaneous Speech

2. Individual Activity
(Writing)
Students will study and will write details in each of the following topics:
1. Consequences of having a job while in high school.
2. Productive ways of spending one’s free time.
3. History of your school or hometown.
4. Comparison of two places you’ve lived in.
5. New or amazing technologies
6. A beneficial hobby.
After which, student should develop these details into a speech that would help them
create different types of speeches.
3. Speech Activity
The speeches made by the students will be delivered before the class.
4. Broadcasting
Each student will be given a copy of a broadcasting speech. Each will be given three
minutes to deliver it.
5. Extemporaneous Speaking
Practical questions were prepared for the students to answer. Five students per batch
will be asked to pick his or her question and will be given 3 minutes to prepare and
another 3 minutes to answer.

Engagement Activity/Application
Each student should deliver one of the speeches given by prominent people. Each should
convince the audience that it is the real speaker who delivers the speech.

ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION
The students will be grouped by five. Each group should have 8-10 members. They will
be given time to prepare a speech choir.

IV. AGREEMENT/ASSIGNMENT

The students will research on the principles of speech writing and principles of speech
delivery.
