The document describes an experiment to investigate the relationship between mass and acceleration. It hypothesizes that if mass increases, acceleration will decrease. The experiment manipulates the mass of a trolley and measures the responding acceleration. It finds that as mass is increased from 1 kg to 5 kg, the measured acceleration decreases.

EXPERIMENT : F = ma

INFERENCE : Acceleration depends on mass

HYPOTHESIS : If mass increase, the acceleration will decreases
AIM : To investigate the relationship between mass and acceleration
VARIABLES : Manipulated : Mass of trolley, m
Responding : Acceleration, a
Constant : Force, F
APPARATUS AND : Tiicker tape, ticker time, trolley, metre ruler, rubber band, runway, power supply, electronic
MATERIAL balance

PROCEDURE : 1. Switch on the power supply. Pull the 1kg mass of trolley using 1 rubber band with
. distance 2 cm. (1 rubber band = 1 unit force, N)
2. Calculate the velocity using formula v = s/t and calculate the acceleration using formula
v−u
a= . The calculation is recorded
3. t
Repeat the experiment using the mass of the trolley= 2.0 kg, 3.0 kg, 4.0 kg and 5.0 kg

EXPERIMENT :WAVELENGTH VS DEPTH

Wavelength depend on depth of water

If the depth of water increases, wavelength also increases
To investigate relationship between depth of water and wavelength
Manipulated : Depthness of water, d
Responding : Wavelength,
Constant : Frequency, f
Power supply, connecting wire, lap, ripple tank, vibration motor, stroboscope, white paper,
water,metre ruler, Perspex plate

1. Put the perspex plate in the ripple tank so the depth of water, d = 1.0 cm
2. Switch on power supply and let the frequecy of the motor switch,f= 10 Hz.
Wavefront will be freeze by using stroboscope.
3. Measure the wavelength,  on the white paper using metre ruler and record the reading
4. Repeat the experiment by using different thickness of perspex plate so the depth of
water , d = 2.0 cm, 3.0 cm, 4.0 cm dan 5.0 cm
