SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to;
 Determine the different use of modifiers;
 Classify the modifiers used in a sentence and;
 Appreciate the important used of modifiers in a context.

Reference: English for the 21st Century Learners 9 pg. 105
Materials: Real Object, Pictures, and Manila paper

III. Procedures
A. Know
1. Preparation

 Checking of Assignment
 Recalling the Past Lesson
2. Guess What?
Describe me once!

 The facilitator will present two mystery boxes.


 The teacher will randomly ask a student to guess the object inside the box.
 The student/s will pick a piece of paper in a box written either “Word” or
“Phrase” which they will used in describing the object inside the second box.
B. Process
 The teacher will connect the activity to the topic and ask a
student’s perceptions about it.
 The teacher thoroughly discusses the lesson and will ask various
questions related to the topic.
 Modifiers
 Uses of modifiers
 Adjective
 Adverb
 Adjective Clause
 Adverbial Clause
 Picturesque
The teacher will show a picture that the needs to describe in
accordance to the modifiers that they picked.
C. Understanding

Classify the modifier underlined in each sentence.


Write ADJP for adjective phrase, AJDC for Adjectival Clause, ADV for
Adverb, ADVP for Adverbial Phrase or ADVC for Adverbial Clause
