Summary
Forensic pathologist are physician /forensic medicine specialist who are specially trained
to examinate dead body which suddenly/unexpectedly died. Forensic pathologist need to
get a medical degree and complete training. These decomposed body have to be
investigate to find out the cause of the death such as rape, murder,sodomy,burnt,death in
custody or other cause of death. These pathologist task is to break up the mistery of the
death by conducting examination which request from police and produce a report
including the autopsy report and also the laboratory report.
Working condition
Working in medical school, hospital or with a private or group practice which have
contract with government agency. Have to contact with smelly, gruesome and discussing
job. Spend most of the time in the lab such as examining tissue of cell under a
microscope or performing autopsies. Job might require to stand for a long time and might
require to handle small tools properly. May affect physical demands and emotion as most
of the time the forensic pathologist will have direct contact and exposure to graphic
violence. Writing reports and making court appearances are also one of the job of a
forensic pathologist.

Academic Requirements
-graduate degree in related field (eg.humanities degree)
-Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist
-general practice after graduation
- forensic science program (MUST be accredited and includes at least 24 semester hours
of chemistry or biology and math and all the prerequisites for medical school.)
