(ii) If you're tired and you try Mum's energy drink, it will have no effect
whatsover on you – you will feel just as tired as you did before you tried the
drink.

5. The caption is the poster makes use of a pun on the word “dying”. What are
the two possible meanings of “dying” in this caption?

(i) The first meaning is the literal meaning of “dying” which is losing one's life.
(ii) The second meaning is “feeling an urgent need to do something”

6. In the last panel, the novice monk uses a pun on the word “soul”. Explain
the two possible meanings of “how my soul hurts”, based on your
understanding of the cartoon.

(i) His soul hurts, which is why he is seeking enlightenment with the help of
the Master OR His soul hurts, so he is in need of spiritual guidance.

(ii) The soles of his feet hurt because he had been climbing the mountain

It suggests that she is in a very dangerous situation, from which there is no

It suggests that he was extremely angry, and his rage was evident in the way
