The clamped video is converted into an 8 bit digital signal. The composit syne pulse fron the video signal are separated by sync separator and send to the PLL circuit. The PLL circuit is arranged on the board. The PLL osellators, lockd by the horizontal syne is runnig at a frequency of about S4NHz/S25, 48MHz/625 and applied to tining generator and another boards The sync detector checks lack of input video signal and switches PLL input signal to internal horizontal rate pulse that is acerate X-tal OSC. The factor of averaging is selected together vith the e@ notion detection factor(n). The noise reduction {is done by an recursive filter, and the factor is selected by the external host. ° Noise reduction off 1 : a 1/2 (with motion detection) a : a 1/4 (with motion detection) 4 - H 1/6 = (with motion detection) § 7 2 1/8 (with motion detection) 8 . . 1/8 (without motion detection) The noise reduction factor is expressed under AVG 1. The motion detection uses 5x3 karne] to switch-off the recursive filter circuitry when the motion detection factor is larger than the designated threshold level. The default value can be set by service personel in field for the flouro, and SUB/MAX/MAP modes. The n (noise reduction) and m (notion detection) can be set for Flouro and other enable modes. and the values are kept until the next e connand. (Refer to the software specification.) -8- (92. 04)4 Motion Detection The difference between two consecutive franes(=comparison of each pixel base between current and previous frame) and the edge signal (the largest value among neighbored pixel of same frame) are processed to make 4 step motion levels for each pixel. And the majority calculation is done inside of 5x3 karnel to decide the motion level of the pixel. Noise Reduction Except the case that neither motion dection nor noise reduction is used, 5 steps of recursive filters are available to make combination between the n detection as per the figure 5.2. nov (m) ave(n) 0-7 8-15 16-23 24-63 don't 0 Ww WA "A wh care 6 | oie 4/2 v/a wn tT 1/4 4 w/t 1/4 | a 1/8 1/8 JB 1/8 o I 1 1/2 1/2 Ve 1/2 | | 2 w/t 1/4 w/t 1/4 4 V/s 1/6 1/8 ve | 5 1/8 1/8 1/8 Ve 2 1 wt in 2 va 2 wt in 2 va 4 1/6 v4 1/2 WV 5 1/8 4 V2 V1 4 1 2 1/2 1/2 W1 z 1/4 1/4 1/2 1/1 4 1/6 V4 Va Wt 5 Ve 1% 1/6 i/t 6 1 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2 2 Va wv V2 1/2 4 1/6 1/6 V4 1/2 5 1/8 1/6 Vs 1/2 cs Rigure §.2 Values for AVG and mov det. ~4- (92. 04)A 5.5 PROS2 BOARD Subtraction, Maxinum opacification and Road napping processing is perforned at this board. This memory is controlled by the frame address form CPU (CONTP2 board), and nanaging at a unit of the frames. This board can be stored 32 images. The CiNE128 board has 64MW-8bits capacity and can be stored 128 images 5.9 CONTP2 BOARD The CONTP2 is a system controller using an microprocessor, and controls whole MMP boards by receiving commands via RS422 interface, and hardvare enable and take mask signals. The store operation of an image and test data are done by video rate inage transfer from the active memory on IMAGE board to the buffer memory on DSKIF board, then to hard disk unit via SCSI interface and speed. During the data transfer from the buffer memory to hard disk, the re-constructed processing is done to retrieve a mosaic image at high speed. The retrieve operation is done by tranfering an image and text data in hard disk via SCSI interface into buffer memory, then to the active memory on r ) the INAGE boad, The image and its text does are alvays checked, and the text data disappears when a conflict occurs between inage and text codes ‘The buffer nenory on DSKIF board is used to display the digital test pattern, and to process the zoom operation. ‘The digital test pattern is displayed on the active monitor after the microprocessor on CONTP2 board writes the pattern to buffer memory. The zoom operation is done by tranfering an image from active memory to buffer memory. Then the microprocessor on POSTP board processes the zoom, and returns the processed image to the active memory on [MAGE board. 5.11 POSTP BOARD The POSTP board is to process the zoom operation by on-board microprocessor and to tbe generate graphic cursor. The zoom processing is done by transfering buffer nenory data to on-board e RAN, then writes back to the buffer menory after zoom processing vith interpolation. The graphic cursor is generated by writing to the on-board frane memory of 1024(H) x 1024(V) x 1bitsize.
