English Course Guideline 1a P
The class sessions for this English course 1A follow the instruction system below:
GENERAL PURPOSE
Develop interpersonal and sociolinguistic communication skills of the English language towards the academic, social and
professional students’ needs who belong to the Manufacturing Engineering Program.
REQUIREMENTS
Student Role
Students must be willing to work with their collaborative group, actively participate in the course tasks and work together in
both face-to-face and independent sessions in the construction of knowledge derived from the course contents.
For the fulfillment of the academic purpose at the English course 1A:
• The student must meet weekly in class sessions with their collaborative group to learn and practice strategies to improve
their communicative learning skills.
• Demonstrate a high level of commitment and punctuality.
• Complete all tasks and / or collaborative follow-up activities on time.
• The student is evaluated based on their attendance, participation and performance during the tasks.
METHODOLOGY
The learning strategy used for this English course 1A aimed at the academic
Industrial Engineering Program corresponds to “Task-Based Language Teaching” (TBLT), since it allows goal-oriented and
meaning-oriented activities. All tasks are designed to be carried out in collaborative groups in order to facilitate the
participation of students in significant activities This didactic learning strategy focuses on the use of language authentic and
in asking students to perform meaningful tasks using the English language (L2).
