NEW COLUMN : LIVING

About
Multifamily, high-rise, and mixed use residential developments are now
a new frontier of innovation for architects and designers in every city in
North America.

Metropolis recognizes this rapidly changing sector with a new column

called LIVING, which will showcase the most innovative multifamily and
mixed-use residential projects across the United States and Canada.

LIVING will recognize key elements including:

• Structural and facade innovation
• Building performance (energy, sustainability, technology)
• Kitchens and baths (high end, high performing fixtures)
• Innovative technology in the home
• Amenity spaces (pool decks, gyms, communal kitchens)
• Outdoor areas (decks, landscaping)
• Retail and Hospitality elements, where applicable

Every project will be accompanied by a list of products and finishes

specified in that project. This includes furniture, lighting, textiles,
surfaces, and kitchen and bath fixtures.

LIVING will appear in four issues in 2020: April, May, September, and
October.

NEW COLUMN : SUSTAINABLE

About
Every month, Metropolis will showcase projects that represent the very
best in sustainable architecture and design in North America.

These projects have:

• Achieved a high level of certification in sustainability through LEED,

Living Building Challenge, WELL, Fitwel, SITES, or other standards
• OR achieved a challenging goal such as net zero energy or carbon.

For each project, we will dive deep into new strategies and
technologies, and highlight products and building materials that
contribute to the sustainable performance of the building.

THINK TANK 2020: THINK TANK THURSDAYS

Introducing Think Tank Thursdays

Think Tank takes an unparalleled deep dive into the projects and practices of
the leading architecture and design firms in North America. With each event,
Metropolis goes into a key market and conducts thought leadership
conversations that lead to strong connections and specification insights.

This year, Think Tank events will be virtual. Each event series will continue to
take place in one city each month. Three top firms from that market will
participate with influencers, specifiers, up-and-coming designers and experts to
examine strengths and weaknesses of current design thinking and practice.

Make every Thursday an opportunity to connect with a top firm in an

unprecedented way.
• 3 Webinars every Thursday (hosted with a design firm each week)
• 1 Roundtable on the 4th Thursday (all 3 design firms participate)

3 Webinars every Thursday

The webinars will be livestream events for viewing by a registered online global
audience, including architects and designers from the participating firm.
Hosted by Editor in Chief Avi Rajagopal, the sessions include a panel of experts,
including principal or senior designer from the host firm, who will provide
valuable discussion and insights on a topic.

Approximately an hour and a half in length.

CEU accredited.

METROPOLIS FORUMS: WEBINAR

At a time when the architecture and design community faces both long-term and
immediate challenges and opportunities, Metropolis debuts two new digital formats—
the Metropolis Forums: Webinar and Roundtable—to help industry leaders discuss
the way forward and provide opportunities for members of the community to stay
connected.

Metropolis Forums: Webinar is a live event that is executed online. It is an edu-

cational session that includes interactive participation through Q&A feature. Our
webinars are structured to give people the opportunity to learn, as they would at an
in-person event.

Webinar is a livestream event for viewing by a registered online audience. Hosted by

Editor in Chief, Avi Rajagopal, experts provide instruction and valuable insights on
a specific topic. This session airs on DesignTV by SANDOW, a syndicated channel
reaching a potential audience of 6MM. Video is available after the event for addition-
al viewing opportunities on metropolismag.com’s On Demand page.

METROPOLIS FORUMS: ROUNDTABLE

Metropolis Forums: Roundtable is an online session designed for industry leaders
to share knowledge, insights, and experiences. Individual among sponsor(s) and
subject matter experts or a panel of practitioners will discuss specific topics of
interest. Roundtables are private, facilitated, information gathering sessions for
our partners. The goal is to provide valuable information and insights to decipher
industry shifts and garner strategy and ways to keep going and growing. Think of
it as a lunch and learn on steroids.

Roundtable program will be conducted using web conferencing software. This

will be a facilitated conversation between host Editor in Chief, Avi Rajagopal
and industry leaders who will provide valuable presentations, discussions and
insights on a specific topic.

Sponsorship Package:

• Sponsor is included at the “table” and has a valuable voice in the discussion.
• Sponsor can raise questions with industry leaders during the roundtable or
submit questions in advance.
• Sponsor acknowledgement by the host at the beginning and conclusion.
• When appropriate to the programming, sponsor may have a 3-5 minute
introduction.
• An executive summary of the discussion highlights will be provided to the
sponsor.

about developing your own custom roundtable.
