C. VISION, MISSION, GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

VISION

We envision Barangay Taba-ao to be progressive and economically-sustainable with peaceful,


healthy and God-fearing people living in an ecologically-balanced community.

MISSION

We are committed to provide, by the aid of Divine Providence, quality services for the
advancement of community life with the active participation and voluntary involvement of every
constituent, contributing to the fulfillment of the people's aspirations.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

I. GENERAL PUBLIC SERVICES SECTOR


A. Executive Services

Goal: Improved quality of services in the community.

Objectives:
1. To enhance the implementation of programs and services needed by the
community.
2. To strengthen linkages with government and non-government
offices/agencies.
3. To wisely implement projects/programs through volunteerism and
cooperation.
4. To actively participate in community affairs.

B. Legislative Services

Goal: Active participation in the legislative processes.

Objectives:
1. To enact ordinances and pass resolutions of general and special purpose
2. To study and do research on measures and/or issuances from the national
and local authorities

C. Other Administrative Office

Goal: Improved knowledge on public service.

Objectives
1. To conduct trainings for the barangay officials and other personnel in
community service.
2. To provide trainings to purok officers and other volunteers for improved
service

D. Public Order and Safety

Goal: Excellent peace and order situation in the barangay.

Objectives:
1. To have a peaceful and orderly community
2. To involve the community people in the promotion of peace and order

E. Institutional Facilities/Utilities

Goal: Excellent institutional facilities and utilities for the community.

Objectives:
1. To have a functional barangay hall and the office spaces
2. To provide excellent equipment such as PA System, Search and Rescue
Equipment, musical instruments and others

II. SOCIAL SERVICES SECTOR

A. Education and Manpower Development

Goal: Improved educational system in the barangay.

Objectives:
1. To construct additional classrooms in the secondary school
2. To acquire additional instructional/learning facilities and equipment
including books and reading materials
3. To increase the number of school teachers
4. To strengthen the Parents Teachers Association (PTA)

B. Health, Sanitation and Nutrition Services

Goal: Excellent health, sanitation and nutritional condition of people in the


community

Objectives:
1. To reduce the incidence of malnutrition
2. To train Barangay Health Workers and Barangay Nutrition Scholar
3. To acquire additional health equipment and facilities
4. To promote healthy lifestyle in the community
5. To promote best practices of sanitation

C. Labor and Employment

Goal: Increased employment rate and income-generating activities.

Objectives:
1. To reduce the incidence of unemployment
2. To provide trainings in livelihood activities and opportunities
3. To acquire working equipment and shared facilities

D. Housing and Community Development

Goal: Improved housing condition.

Objectives:
1. To inform and educate the people on rules and regulations of housing and
construction

E. Social Welfare and Development


Goal: Improved social welfare and development programs in the barangay.

Objectives:
1. To strengthen the organizations of women, senior citizens, youth, and solo
parents
2. To strengthen the day care services of the barangay
3. To provide play area for day care children
4. To provide additional day care learning materials and facilities

III. ECONOMIC SERVICES SECTOR

A. Agriculture Development Services

Goal: Sustained and improved agricultural production.

Objectives:
1. To decrease dependence on inorganic and synthetic fertilizers.
2. To educate farmers on new technology on farming.
3. To provide irrigation systems to idle lands.
4. To maintain the existing irrigation system.
5. To strengthen farmers’ association.
6. To construct and maintain farm-to-market road.

B. Tourism Development Services

Goal: Improved and dynamic tourism industry.

Objectives:
1. To increase awareness of community residents and other stakeholders in
tourism industry.
2. To validate the potential tourist spots in the barangay.
3. To create an environment favorable for tourists.
4. To ensure security of tourist and community residents.

C. Commerce, Trade and Industry/Livelihood and Coop Development

Goal: Enhanced and sustained livelihood activities in the community.

Objectives:
1. To conduct livelihood skills training and management.
2. To promote the importance of cooperatives through IECs and
linkage/networking.
3. To conduct trainings on entrepreneurial skills.

D. Environment and Natural Resources


Goal: Improved and maintained a clean and green environment.

Objectives:
1. To promote the conservation of wildlife.
2. To increase awareness and implementation of proper waste disposal.
3. To eliminate illegal logging.
4. To maintain and support the Barangay nursery.
5. To educate farmers on the proper disposal of pesticide containers and
other toxic materials.
6. To encourage the use/construction of sanitary toilets in all households.
7. To safeguard/protect water bodies in the Barangay.

E. Infrastructure and Physical Development Services

Goal: Improved and maintained infrastructures for the community.

Objectives:
1. To provide practical transportation facilities.
2. To maintain sufficient potable water for all households
3. To expand energization of all sitios
4. To provide advance communication facilities in the community

IV. CONCERNS/PROBLEMS/ISSUES

With the interview conducted to the residents of Taba-ao, several problems were
identified. According to the respondents, one of the most dealt problems in the
barangay is the improper waste segregation. Moreover, proper waste disposal has
been an issue they are facing right now in relation to the aforementioned problem.
Another major problem addressed was their youth. Some students tend to skip their
classes to go to Amburayan River to swim or to bathe. In connection hereto, these
students are being exposed to some misconducts like smoking cigarettes, and vices
such as alcohol and prohibited drugs.
