Module Activity 1: Thank You OLFU Because.

Thank you OLFU because it has become my second home. OLFU taught me to dream big, be independent, and that achieving my goals would require hard work and trusting the process. OLFU also provided me with the best teachers and helped me become the best version of myself. I chose to study BS MLS at OLFU even though it was far from home, because my aunt was a medtech and I admired her knowledge of medicine. While it was a difficult adjustment at first, I came to love my major and did not want to transfer or shift programs. Biostatistics teaches me about analyzing medical data, epidemiology is about controlling and preventing disease spread, and public health is about helping communities and families through education

OLFU has become my second home because….


 I have learned to love OLFU and grow to it. OLFU is where I made friends that
eventually become my family. OLFU taught me to go dream big, it, also, taught me how
to be independent. OLFU taught me that in order to achieve something, you have to go
through a process first and to trust it because it will be worth it, for sure.
1. I am Psalm Noelle Dimayuga, 18. I am from Malolos, Bulacan, last school year, I
travel from home to school every day.
2. Truth is I don't have a very good reason why I chose BS MLS. My aunt was a
medtech and I always love how she quiz me about my subjects and always admire her
knowledge about medicine. As a child, I was in and out to hospitals but I never hate
hospitals and needles; I, also, love my pediatrician. I wasn't so sure of taking BS MLS
but it was my first choice. Also, OLFU is so far from my home knowing I always get car
sick when we travel. But I was very determined to change my pace and go to
Valenzuela and take BS MLS. And we started… It was harder than I thought. I thought
about shifting or transferring but I love my lab life, won’t give up on that and that’s how I
knew I made the right decision by choosing this program. I love my program.
3. Biostatistics makes me think about math; computations, data, formulas and
population. Epidemiology is about diseases, how to control them, how they spread. And
public health is about communities and families, it makes me think of going to a
community, survey them, educate and help them.
4. Since I took CPHM and ICTM, I already have ideas of the basics. So, I expect topics
will be more complex and harder.
