What Is AI?

Artificial intelligence (AI) can be defined as using technologies to allow machines to act intelligently, including learning rules to make decisions, reasoning to conclusions, and learning from past experiences. The ultimate goal of AI is to create systems as powerful as the human brain. Currently, there are weak or narrow AI systems designed for specific tasks like virtual assistants, but strong AI that could solve any unfamiliar task without human help does not yet exist.

What is AI?

Definition
Artificial intelligence, also known as AI, can be defined as a collection of different
technologies that can be brought together to allow machines to act with what
appears to be human-like levels of intelligence. This includes learning rules
required to make certain decisions and reasoning to arrive at certain conclusions,
learning from past experiences and self-correction.

Ultimate Goal
Being able to make these systems as powerful as the brain is the ultimate goal of
Artificial Intelligence.

Weak AI
Simple, week or narrow AI are designed and trained for specific tasks. This could
include virtual personal assistants, such as Apple's Siri.

Strong AI
Strong AI systems would be able to find a solution without human intervention
when presented with an unfamiliar task. Currently, this does not exist.
