Problem Set 3 PDF

This document provides the production history for two gas wells, Wells A and B, from 1997 to 2001. It asks to analyze the data using an exponential decline curve to determine: 1) the nominal decline rate for each well, 2) the remaining recoverable reserves, ultimate recovery, and economic life for each well assuming an abandonment rate of 3,000 Mcf/mo. This analysis will provide key insights into well performance and remaining value.

PNGE 343 - Petroleum Reservoir Engineering I

2019/20 Fall
Problem Set-3, Given Dec. 19, 2019, Due Dec. 27, 2019

(20 pts) Two gas wells, A and B, have the production history shown below (also in the uploaded Excel spread-
sheet). Apply exponential decline curve analysis to:

1. Find the nominal decline rate for each well

2. Assuming an abandonment rate (economic limit of production) of 3,000 Mcf/mo. Calculate for each well
the following:

(a) the remaining recoverable gas reserves

(b) the ultimate gas recovery

(c) the remaining economic life of the well
