Essay of Unique Culture

In the Tidong community of Indonesia, there is a challenging wedding ritual where the newly married couple cannot use the bathroom for three days and three nights after their marriage. They believe not following this tradition will bring bad luck to their marriage, such as a broken marriage, infidelity, or the death of children. During this time, relatives watch over the couple to ensure they do not break the rules, and they are given only small amounts of food and water to limit urges to use the bathroom. After three days, the couple is surprised by relatives who bathe them, and they can finally use the bathroom again.
