Figure 0. Conceptual Framework of The Study

The conceptual framework showed the process and testing of recycled plastic pellet reinforced concrete. Materials included recycled plastic pellets, sand, cement, and coarse aggregate. The methods involved preparing the pellets, mixing concrete, molding, and curing. Laboratory tests then measured the material's compressive and flexural strength to analyze its properties and suitability for construction. The output was the recycled plastic pellet reinforced concrete.

Materials

The materials used were recycled plastic pellets, sand, cement, and coarse aggregate.

Recycled plastic pellets

Light weight plastic wastes like plastic bags, plastic wrappers, sachets and packaging

melted and extruded into the form of pellets.

Sand

The sand is a filler of small voids in the concrete mix. A granular material composed of

finely divided rock and mineral particles.

Cement

Portland cement is the basic ingredient of concrete. Concrete is formed when Portland

cement creates a paste with water that binds with sand and rock to harden.

Coarse Aggregate

Coarse aggregate is the portion of the concrete which is made up of the larger stones

embedded in the mix. Aggregate is made of fine sand and coarse gravel.

Methods
The methods included in the production of recycled plastic pellet reinforced concrete

were the preparation of the recycled plastic pellets, concrete mixing and molding, and testing.

Throughput

Laboratory Test

A laboratory test was conducted to know whether the plastic mixture of concrete is greater

in compressive and flexural strength compared to the nominal mixture of concrete and to know if

it is applicable in construction.

Compressive Strength Test

The compressive strength used to measure the desired strength of the concrete by using

the Universal Testing Machine.

Flexural Strength Test

This method covers the determination of the flexural strength of small-sized concrete specimens

by the use of a simple beam with center-point loading.

Output

The output of the study was recycled plastic pellets reinforced concrete.
