Challenges Faced-In Depth Interviews

In depth interviews were conducted for the research but they required a lot of time and attention to listen and interpret answers. It was difficult to extract quantitative data from qualitative interviews. Respondents had different views on the same topics due to subjectivity. There was a risk of unconscious misrepresentation if respondents lost attention or deviated from topics. Respondents could also deliberately falsify information. Interviews with local businesses revealed that GIM students contributed significantly to their revenues, from 20-50% daily. The businesses and market felt infrastructure and security improved after GIM's establishment, which also provided employment.

Challenges Faced-

In Depth Interviews-
For our research we conducted in depth interviews. Such interviews
take up a lot of time and required us to be very attentive for listening
and interpreting their answers were clearly. Since it was a qualitative
type of research it became difficult for us to extract quantitative
information from it and do the statistical analysis.
Subjectivity of the information-
What one might think as a great development for some other it
might not be that big of a deal. Since the data collected was all about
what people think about the development of area we came across
very different views on the same topic.
Unconscious Misrepresentation-
Since every interview at least lasted for 30 minutes, there might be
chances that the respondent might lose his attention or deviate from
the topic. At times the respondent may not remember information
and respond incorrectly without even realising. Thus, establishing the
authenticity of the information is not possible
Deliberate falsification-
Respondents might deliberately lie to hide certain information or
answer according to certain socially desirable rules. Thus, it becomes
difficult in such cases to justify the answers provided by them.
