OBJECTIVES

 Students can identify the things in a city and talk about their cities.
 Students can give and follow directions using prepositions of movement.
 Students can talk about what they can do and have to do in a city.

PRESENTATION

Dear student in this worksheet you will find information about the use of prepositions of
movement and the use of can and have to to talk about things that are necessary to do or that are
okay to do. Remember there are videos to support the explanations in the online classroom-
Moodle. Do not hesitate to ask me any question or doubt you can have.

INITIAL REFLECTION

In order to start answer these questions:

 Think about your favorite city, it can be your city or a city you have visited. What are
your favorite places in this city? My favorite city is Bucaramanga and my favorite place
in this city is “Cuadrapicha”
 Which city would you like to visit in Colombia? In the world? Why? Give two reasons.
I would like visit to Barranquilla because I want to know the sea and I would like go to
the Carnaval de Barranquilla

B. Have to and don’t have to

1. We use have to when it is necessary or obligatory to do something.


You have to drive on the left in Britain.
2. We use don’t have to when it is not necessary to do something, but you can if you want.
You don’t have to come to the party if you don’t want to.

Remember! When is it NOT okay or it is prohibited to do something, we use can’t.

You can’t smoke in the classroom NOT You don’t have to smoke in the classroom.
