Main course of corrosion Iron can combine with Oxygen and Moisture in the air to form a variety of oxides
depending on condition of exposure. Initially formed ferric hydroxide Fe(OH)3, undergoes various changes
during the process of corrosion and forms MAGNETITE Fe3O4 or ferrosso ferric oxide, a stable compound
which dose not readily change on further exposure. This is called RUST.
The Revolutionary Hi-Tech Glo-Protek Rust Converter Primer (GPRC) reverses the process of rusting.
GPRC with its reactive polymer forms a complex polymer compound and attains a passivated state without
loosing the strength of the metal. The white buff colored GPRC when applied on the surface of the metal
changes to a Blackish to Brown protective coating film. This marks the END OF RUSTING OR CORROSION
of the metal surface.
3) Scratch Test: Above 1000 gms. (Sharp needle phased on the GPRC coated plate can't tears the film)
4) Fire Hazard : GPRC is a water based system and hence non-inflammable. This film is a fire retardant.
6) Storage : Store between 5 deg.C and 50 deg. C, protect from freezing. Contents may separate during
storage. Shake and stir well before use.
8) Area of coverage : Appx 80 -120 sq.ft / Kg with double coat and film thickness 45 to 60 micron.
10) Application : GPRC should not be applied to cold metal temperature below 5 deg. C or hot metal above 50
deg. C. When dry, hard GPRC will withstand temperature of 250-300 deg. C.
12) Bond Strength : The film does not interfere with the bond strength between Pull out Strength concrete and
steel in R.C.C. Approved by V.J.T.I. Bombay. & DNV
13) Salt spray Test as : GPRC (Marine Grade) is 13515:1992 approved by UDCT as per IS 13515:1992 and
DNV for Salt Spray Test of 720 hrs as per ASTM B-117 test.
GPRC (Industrial Grade) No RUST 300 hrs Salt Spray Test.
14) Chemical Resistance : Resistance to acid and alkalis in moderate concentration. 15) Adhesion test of Top
coat (ENAMEL or EPOXY): Approved by UDCT as per IS 13515:1992.

• further advantages of “Glo-Protek Rust Converter Primer” against Red-Oxide, Enamel &
Epoxy - Ultimately, when the film falls, in case of Red Oxide, Enamel or Epoxy there is rust beneath
the coating, whereas in case of “GPRC”, there is no rust beneath because Red- Oxide, Enamel or
Epoxy, all are preventers whereas “GPRC” is a converter and preventers which converts the Rust
into a metal complex which becomes a part of the film.PRIMER/RED OXIDE stands SALT SPRAY
TEST 30 hrs. Our GPRC stands SALT SPRAY TEST 300 hrs. i.e. GPRC (INDUSTRIAL) is 10
time stronger than the conventional.
• Application Method:
• Remove loose scales, flaking rust, old paint and dirt from the corroded metal surface with the use of
wire brush etc. however, there is no need to remove all the traces of rust, since the adherent rust is
automatically converted into polymer complex compound with Glo-Protek Rust Converter Primer
(GPRC)
GPRC also dose not require different steps of preparation of the metal surface though
Sandblasting, Phosphating or Red-oxide coating.
• Transfer the required quantity of GPRC in a non-metallic container. Apply GPRC with a brush, a
roller, by dip method or simply by spraying on. For spray and dip method, dilute GPRC with tap water
in the ratio appx 70:30.
• GPRC is 'off white' when applied. Complete protection is achieved within minutes when a blackish to
brown protective film is touch dry within about 30 to 60 minutes depending upon weather
conditions. Where the rust is more it appears more brownish and where the rust is less it
appears more blackish.
• Do not transfer the left-over portion of GPRC back into the original container, so as to prevent
contamination of the unused product.
• GPRC is a one coat treatment, however, best result are achieved with two coats. The second coat is
applied after the first coat has dried. GPRC also accept various types of topcoats and paints.
