CLASS – VI

: MATHEMATICS :

TERM –I
Periodic Assessment – 1 :- Number System, Whole Numbers, Integers, Line Segment Ray and Line.

Half Yearly: Algebric expression, Linear equation in one variable, Angles and their measurement,
Triangles, Constructions.
Note: Periodic Assessment – 1 is included in HY

TERM – II
Periodic Assessment – 2 :- Parallel line, Quadrilaterals, Concept of perimeter and Area, Circles,
Fraction, Polygons.
Yearly Exam : Ratio, Proportion and unitary method, Data Handling, 3D Shapes
Note: Periodic Assessment – 1, HY & Periodic Assessment – 2 are included in yearly exam for chap
1(number system) only – 1 (A,D,E,F) are included in the syllabus.

: ENGLISH LANGUAGE :

TERM –I
Periodic Assessment – 1 :-
1. The Sentence-kinds, Conversion of one kind of sentence to another kind. Sentence-Affirmative,
Negative (use of do, dose, did), sentence reordering. 2. Phrase & Clause – Identification. 3. Subject,
Predicate, Object ( Direct & Indirect ). 4. Noun & its kind. 5. Punctuation – full stop (.), the question
mark (?), the exclamation (I), the comma (,), the quotation marks or inverted commas (”), the colon (:),
the apostrophe (’), the capital letters. 6. Comparison of adjectives. 7. Verb: (a) Main Verb – (i) Finite
Verb (Transitive, Intransitive) (b) Helping Verb – Auxiliaries (be, do, have). 8. Word vocabulary (a)
Nouns-number, Gender (b) 4 forms of verb. 9. Topic writing – Based on season, environment, letter
writing (informal).

Half Yearly Exam:


1. Adverb & its kind, 2. Tense: Present, Past, Future (Continuous, Simple, Perfect). 3. Subject Verb
agreement, 4. Pronoun & its kind (Personal, Reflexive, Demonstrative, 5. Word Vocabulary (a)
Antonyms (b) Synonyms, (c) 4 forms of verb, simile, metaphor, 6. Reported Speech: Declarative,
Imperative, Interrogative, All forms of Tense, Adjective & its Kinds.
Writing (a) Notice writing (b) Bio Sketch (c) Listening comprehension (d) reading comprehension
Chapters included in P.A. – I, Formal Letters.

TERM – II
Periodic Assessment – 1 :- 1. Determiners, 2. Preposition – words followed by preposition (list to be
provided) 3. Conjuction – Identification, Joining the sentences, 4. Voice change – simple indefinite /
present / (affirmative/interrogative), 5. Tense – Present, Past & Future (Continuous/Perfect/Perfect
Continuous) 6. Word Vocabulary: homophones, 4forms of verb, 7. Writing – Diary entry, letter writing
(informal / Formal).

Yearly Exam:
1. Possessives – (Pronoun & adjectives) 2. Helping verb (a) Auxiliaries-be, do, have (b) Modals-can,
could, will, would, shall, may, might 3. Punctuation-application only 4. Sentence reordering 5.
Reported Speech-declarative, Imperative, Interrogative-all forms of tense 6. Word Vocabulary (a)
Idioms, (b) Similes, (c) Metaphor 7. Writing-Story writing 8. Chapters included in Term I and P.A. II.

Note: 1. The Chapters (all the terms) may be practiced and tested though gap filling and error
correcting wherever required 2. Conversation skill enhancement (all the terms) (a) Extemphore (b)
Story Telling (c) Recitation 3. All the chapters of term I and Term II will be assessed in the annual
exam.

: ENGLISH LITERATURE :

TERM –I
