In this guide you will learn:

 FARM ANIMALS: Sheep, hen, chick, cow, pig, duck, horse, cat, dog, frog, mouse.
 WILD ANIMALS: Giraffe, lion, tiger, hippo, monkey, snake, bear, crocodile.
 ABILITIES: Fly, climb, jump, swim, run, crawl.

Suggestion to the teacher: Make a diagnosis of the topic using the

3. GROUP LEARNING (3 units)

Suggestion to the teacher: Organize the students in pairs. Explain


the game very carefully.

3.1 Using the following chart, give some instructions to your partner to draw an animal
with those specific characteristics. You only have to choose one characteristic from
each letter. Example: (a1-b3-c2-d5), so your partner must draw a purple pig with big
nose that is jumping. When you have finished, you must present orally one of the
animals you made.

Teacher’s suggestion: Before starting the activity, practice with your


students the following questions: What is your name? What is your
favorite animal? What can it do?

3.2 Ask some of your teachers about their favorite farm or wild animals and what they can
do and complete the following chart.

3.3 In this part we will use the game Animal tracks. First of all, teacher divides
students into groups. Then, teacher shows them four different habitats and some cards
that have, on one side, the picture of an animal and on the other side the animal
footprint (this is the side students will be seeing). Teachers asks a person of each
group to choose a card and say which habitat it belongs to and the name of the animal;
if it is correct, student places the card on the correct habitat and describes it using parts
of the body and abilities.
