Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so you shall become.

Your vision is the

promise of what you shall one day be; your ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at
last unveil. When you make a mistake, don't look back at it long. Take the reason of
the thing into your mind and then look forward. Mistakes are lessons of wisdom. The
past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power. I don’t want what I am
saying to sound like a prophecy or anything like an analysis of modern society. These
are only feelings I have, and I am the least speculative woman on earth. I wanted to
rock back and forth between myth and distant futures, yesterday, today, and
tomorrow. It felt a bit like prophecy and a bit like storytelling. The fireworks begin
today.

Good afternoon to everyone who come in this anticipated event above all for
the seniors. I, Gael Tumlos Actub speaking before you will construe my class
prophecy for the batch 2019. So let me lend your ears for a little while, for we will
take a trip to the future. Sit back, widen your imagination and enjoy the trip! Let’s
explore the year 2030.

It was November 11, 2030. I was awaken by the melody of the songs by Joren
Berundo, Zyannah Libatique and Hazellyn Baring coming from the neighborhood.

I stood up, stretched my body and reached for the remote control for my
daily news habit. As I turned it on, I heard the familiar voice of Eldan Davin
delivering the headlines of the early morning edition of the “Davin D. Codes.” Fellow
TV news caster Kylie Chariz Rasonado and Jacquilyn Carinea later focused on screen.

Moments later, I turned off the TV. I was preparing for my birthday gala
when my doorbell rang. I headed straight to open the door. There stand a man
carrying a package. The label goes “to Ms. Gael, from Tres Marias” just by reading
the package sender, I excitedly opened the box. The package was filled with
magazines that features me and my company thanks to Mr. Raymond Manangkila who
choreographs everything and is now one of the highest paid model and
choreographer. Moreover, these featured magazines would be nothing without the
sponsorship of the high end clothing line of the fashion designer, Mr. Adam Jhon
Galay. Above all, tres marias wouldn’t be completed and successful without the
skillful hands of the top paid photographer in the person of Mr. John Mark Jagunos.

Going back to their package, what surprises me most is the roundtrip plane
ticket to my home land, the Philippines. The ticket goes with a sweet note, saying
“Happy Birthday yotch Gael, take this ticket and spread your wings. Thank us later.
lovelots.”

With one quick move, I left GTA Hospital at around 9:30 am to rush to the
airport to catch my flight. While on my way, I saw an old mate in the person of Ms.
Legene Mae Zamayla better known as “ate Precious” followed by some paparazzi. She
became a famous medical doctor and model at the same time. Her fashion was
tremendously notable and remarkable.
Moving on, my eyes were glued on the billboard of Mr. Arnel Mindo who became
an international action star that is based here in London. Seeing his billboar, I could
reminisce how talented he was back then. At the airport, I caught Mr. Kent Arnven
Landicho who was before the most serene in the class became one of the most
famous lawyers in the Philippines. While waiting for our boarding time, we had catch
a short chat and he mentioned about Mr. Janel Pelayo who happen to be elected as
the 18th president of the Republic of the Philippines. On the other hand, Mr.
Jhandriev Lingatong became the vice president of the country. What surprises me
most is that the once slender Val Dunn became the strongest and the wealthiest man
in the world. In addition, Ms. Flourence Dahay became the model, spokesperson and
singer of the Close Up toothpaste not only in the Philippines, but all over the world.
Mr. Landicho also mentioned about Ms. Frietzie Ann Lofranco who pursued her
accountancy career that paves her way to becoming an international accountant. Mr.
Landicho ended his story when our flight was paged.

I met Ms. Erica Charm Minoza and Ms . they were part of the stewardess of
the plane I boarded. Both were much charming and slender than they were before.
While seated, I met Mr. and Mrs. James Christer and Daryll Jane Guzman who
became very successful in their individual careers. Mr. Guzman as the top paid
Electrical Engineer and Mrs. Guzman as the most notable Medical Doctor in the
country. With a short chat, Mrs. Guzman has mentioned about Engr. Blessed Angela
Lascuna who is about to tie the knot with Mr. Nielbert Ampong a month later.

Hours later, we arrived at the Philippine International Airport at 3 pm. I went

to the mall for some merienda. The mall was one of the recently established in the
country. The construction was very well done and I heard that Architect Sawayan
and Engr. Ranque collaborated to achieve this mall with modern and classical touches.
After grabbing a meal, I started to roam around. I was amazed when I saw the
portrait of the owner, it was none other than Ms. Mariechar Abao, who was still
single and ready to mingle. I was holding my camera on position when I spotted a
familiar pretty face. It was Ms. Jazz Gahum who is physically and mentally ready to
represent the country in the upcoming Ms. Universe pageant. As I approached her,
she excitedly informed me that Mr. James Roy Doongan purchased a media company
that is based in Australia, but reaches the globe. Also, I was informed that Ms.
Angelica Soria was the 1st top holder of Forbes List of billionaires and once been
featured in their magazine. Also, Mr. Leonil Llagas became the highest paid geologist
after claiming the top 1 in board exam, Mr. Llagas is now settled in Belgium. What
surprises me most is that Ms. Rosalinda Gonzales is up to represent the country for
the Ms. World pageant. Surprised? Well I do too, but as the old saying goes, “change
is the only constant in the world.”

I went to a jewelry shop to buy myself a gift. There was a familiar face, it was
Dr. Bryan Bacnat who became the owner of the jewelry shop with the partnership of
Ms. Lean Abato. He came closer and started talking about our old mates. Mr. Royce
James Gatela became a soldier. Through his leadership and with the aid of other
soldiers, MILF, CPP-NPA, and MILF were defeated. He was awarded with a medal of
Valor after a heroic battle at Sulu, surviving a battle against Abu Sayaff. It was
also mentioned that Mr. Delro James Llanto and Mr. Stephen Teves become
successful in their careers as Computer Engineers. As a result, they were able to
isolate the country from any form of hacking. After our conversation, Mr. Bacnat
gave me the necklace I have chosen for free. Thank you!

Before I went home, I decided to visit a church. There I saw my manghud Rev.
Father Gem Stephen Castroverde who was preaching that time. I sat beside a man.
His face was familiar and I was horrified when I realized that he is none other than
Mr. Bryan Antiza, the famous Doctor slash photographer. He was the one who
informed me the changes in our Alma Mater. Accordingly, it became more colorful
and the construction was a whole lot better than before. In fact, he showed me
photographs that proves everything. In the photo, I saw Ms. Justine Ann Llido
became part of the institution with a doctorate degree. I was confused when I failed
to see our beloved principal, Teacher R. it was then clear to me when Bryan explained
that teacher R was promoted as the Regional School Superintendent, and that our
8th grade adviser, Mrs. Cherry Grace Euldan was appointed to be the school principal.

When I arrived at my condo the whole place was peaceful and no noise could
be heard but I was astounded when I entered the living room. Dr. Caylan and the
whole barkada were there waiting for me. We had dinner all together, had so many
stories to tell. I was so tired that I wanted so much to get some sleep. I appreciated
what they done for me.

Ouch! Something cold touched my face. I stood up from where I was sleeping.
I looked around for my friends, they`re not here. I realized it was all a dream. Wow!
What a dream. If only they`ll all come true. But then, nothing is impossible in this
world if you will strive in the fields that you`ve chosen. People change so do their
future if they`ll take the right path.

My dear batchmates lets strive and make this dream of mine for all of us come
true. So we can hold our heads up high and say “We rocked the world, and changed
the coursed of modern history.” Life ends when you stop dreaming, hope ends when
you stop believing, love ends when you stop caring, and friendship ends when you stop
sharing. We all have our own life to pursue, our own kind of dream to be weaving. And
we all have some power to make wishes come true, as long as we keep believing. We
can have anything in life if we will sacrifice everything else for it. So batchmates,
let`s go for our own better future and tomorrow. Congratulations in advance and im
wishing you all the best.

Before I take my seat, I would leave you these words, “Build your way and
reach for the top.” Good afternoon once more and thank you.”
