1.1 INTRODUCTION TO THE NEW KAILASH TYRE
WORKS:
New Kailash Tyre Works in Kangra is one of the leading businesses in
the Tyre Dealers. It is also known for dealers in world famous tyre
manufacturers such as MRF, Apollo, Goodyear, Ceat, Bridgestone, and
much more.
A renowned tyre dealer, New Kailash Tyre Works in Nagrota Bagwan,
Kangra, Himachal Pradesh was established in the year 1985 by Kailash
Vasudeva and his sons. It was launched with a vision to offer quality
products and services to its valued customers. As a tyre dealer, it markets
a wide range of tyres for motorcycles, car alloy wheels, car accessories,
motorcycle accessories and related maintenance services. With a firm
belief of setting benchmarks in providing best customer experience
through innovative and unique ways, this establishment has continued the
legacy of excellence in service, year on year. It strives to create
benchmarks with their customer centric approach. They have earned
appreciation and praises from their clients for their impeccable products
and services. Undoubtedly it is one of the best tyre dealers in North India.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT
Human Resource capability remains a key source of the
Company’s competitive advantage. The Company continues to
place emphasis on enhancement of skills and capabilities of its
people for meeting future challenges. The key areas of human
resource Developments are training, competency development and
skill enhancement. The Company continues to implement best
practices and innovative initiatives to meet the challenges in
acquiring and retaining talent against intense competitive
pressures. As the Company takes on projects with higher
complexities and expands its business, the need to reinforce the
human resource capabilities becomes more critical. The
Company’s focus on improved Employee Engagement and
adhering in a proactive work culture, through several enterprise
level initiatives has been noteworthy. Employee Contact Programs
have helped in obtaining valuable feedback and implement
appropriate action plans. The Company continues to place
emphasis on enhancement of skills and capabilities of its people
for meeting future challenges. The key areas of human resource
development are training, competency development and skill
enhancement. Career Development Plans have been evolved for
high potential managers. In addition, the Company continued to
impart training to its employees, with major focus on Leadership

Development and Managerial Effectiveness. A number of Internal
and External training workshops, courses and seminars were
conducted and an elaborate induction-training programme for
fresh graduate engineers, at the entry level is
arranged. The feedback from the training programmes has been
very encouraging.
Responsibilities of HR:

· To ensure that Training needs are Identified, Planned and
Conducted
· To ensure that Training effectiveness is measured
· To ensure that systems to motivate and empower employees are
identified and implemented
· To control Quality records related to Quality System of their
functions.
Functions of HR:
· Recruitment.
· Training & development.
· Statutory wage & salary administration.
· Labor welfare, which includes canteen facilities, transportation,
and housekeeping Etc .

FINANCE & ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT:
· Book and Budget
· Sales & bills payable
· Costing & establishments
· Internal audit & price store ledger Book & Budget
· Collection of accounts from different sections
· Preparation of trial balance and final accounts
· Co-ordination with auditors
· Helping statutory auditor
Bill Payable
This section handles the payment to be made to the suppliers. This
includes the receiving of stores receipt vouchers, purchase order
and their verification in terms of quality and quantity. Once the
claims are found satisfactory, the payment is made as per the
terms.
Costing sets the cost that is used by commercial group to add
profit margin to set the price.
Establishment
This section handles all the payment to the employees such as
· Salary & provident fund
· Incentives
· Loans and advances
· Medical reimbursement

Internal Audit
After preparing the balance sheet, the internal auditors will audit &
they send audited balance sheets to the government auditors to
audit the balance sheet.

SALES DEPARTMENT:
Sales are the knack of selling a product or service. It is the art of
customer to buy a certain product or service. Various given the
definition of salesmanship.
According to national association of marketing teacher America,
“it is the ability to people to buy goods or services at a profit to the
sellers and fated little differently." It is the ability to induce others
to accept at a fair price, the benefit being the service rendered”
Functions:
1. Although each department is working for a common end, it
must cooperate with the other departments and must be self-
contained as much as possible so there is no fear of over-lapping
or of controversies arising as to which department is in charge of a
particular question.
2. The sales manager should be ready at any time to go the
assistance of a department manager, who needs advice, support or
relief.
3. He must see that all the activities and functions under his
control are working in harmony and in accordance with the trading
policy of the firm.
4. If the company's basic objectives have been accomplished, the
primary planning document in any organization is sales estimate or
dates forecast.

5. The forecast is to estimate the future demand and hence it will
help us to understand the nature of demand.
MARKETING DEPARTMENT:
Marketing refers to the identification of customer's needs and
supplying them the services which can satisfy these needs and
want. Marketing is the back bone of any company. It maintains all
the details about the transactions between companies and tenders.
Marketing has an external interface with financial accounting
system and with inventory.
Functions:
1. Marketing research determines the needs and expectations of
consumers.
2. Planning and developing suitable product.
3. Setting the right appropriate prices.
4. Selecting the right channels of distribution

3.2 CONCLUSION
The Internship carried out at The New Kailash Tyre Works was
successful in achieving the objective. This internship helped in gaining
knowledge on functions of various departments in the organization. This
internship has helped me to enhance and develop my skills, abilities and
knowledge. Overall it was a good experience and memories as not only I
have gained experience, but also new friends and knowledge. It was a
good place to do internship since it provides numerous benefits and
advantages to the practical trainees. It also provided me with an
opportunity to understand the in depth functions of the human resource
department by working alongside with the human resource team and
engaging in the human resource functions under their guidance. The
internship also helped in analyzing and understanding the cumulative
functions of all the departments and also their correlation and
interdependence on each other to allow the firm as whole to function
effectively on day to day basis.
