NARRATIVE PICTORIAL REPORT ON INVESTITURE AND BACKYARD

CAMPING

   Scouting is a movement of self-education for young people. Being part of Scouting

Movement opens many doors to adventure and freedom for the young Filipino. With sincere
dedication, the new scouts have a chance to live experiences useful to themselves and others,
learns more about the world and gain further insights into
their own selves.
Scouting can be a key to good upbringing for here is a
chance to develop social, mental and physical traits useful
as one grows up, and this could be done by interacting
with other scouts and with society. Participation in
encampment is the main attraction of being a boy and girl
scout. It would be a chance for them to experience
different challenges served in an outdoor camping.

Powell, the
founder of
“Scouting” said
that “A scout is
one who
thoroughly trains

service.” In scouting, activities would be
accomplished through learning-by-doing. Learning
by doing means developing, as a result of first-hand
experience that gives better opportunities of learning
for every scout.
Tapulao Elementary School aims to provide
better learning experiences to its pupil. Through
scouting, children could develop skills that will Tapulao Brgy Captain, Mr.

To recognize the importance of scouting,
Tapulao Elementary School conducted an Investiture and Backyard camping. It was held at
Tapulao Elementary School last December 6-8, 2019. The objective of the camping’s activity
was to demonstrate the importance of reaching out to change lives of boy scout and girl scout
through camping.

The activities undertaken on the first

day was Investiture and camp setting.

Sangguniang Barangay Officers, teachers, parents and scouts the camp and tents was
successfully set-up. The campers would be more comfortable at the camp for 3 days.
The investiture ceremony was held at exactly 6:00 in the morning at Tapulao
Auditorium by the entrance of colors followed by singing the national anthem led by Mrs.
Ma. Salve Pura S. Padao followed by the Scouts Oath and Law by Xavier Miguel Bayani.
Campers were inspired by the warm
Twinkler, Star and Girl Scouts of Tapulao
messages by the Principal of Tapulao Mr.
Alfredo E. De Leon, Brgy. Chairman of
Tapulao Manuel Tolentino, Sanguniang Kabataan Chairman Mr. Jaydee Del Valle and Brgy
Chairman of Tagumpay Hon. Gary Cruz. And followed by the Boy and Girl Scout ceremony.
After dinner every was assembled at the grand arena to witness the BSP and GSP
SAntacruzan 2019. In this activity the scouts showed their talents and wit. Every scouts
enjoyed the evening activity.
On the 2nd day participated the morning Zumba. They dance and had exercise led by
Tita Lolet Ico.
Activities were carefully prepared by the
event officers. The event undertaken by the
Boy and Girl Scouts are, Outdoor Cooking,
Arts and Crafts, Bandaging/Scarf folding,
Emergency Preparedness and Obstacle.
Scouts were very enthusiastically and
actively participated in various activities.
They have really shown the values of
cooperation, unity, creativity and friendship
among other scouts in the camp.
On that evening campers were still
energetic for the Grand Campfire. Song and
Yell Contest was the highlight of the event.
Kab and Boy Scouts of Tapulao Hiking was the activity for the 3rd day,
each camper was very excited, Buddy system
was followed to keep the safety of the scout. Though it was tiring it was unforgettable
experience for everyone.
After taking a rest at the camp,
the closing ceremony was held.
As the backyard camping ends,
the campers will bring home some
sweet memories of being a scout,
bringing the values that they have
learned at the 3day camporee.
