Poem Analysis
The poem ‘The Tyger’ by William Blakez contains six stanzas and the poem
mainly consists of questions. There are no more than fifteen questions in the poem.
The author talks about the creation of God that is the ‘tyger’. The central theme of
the poem is that how has God created a powerful and strong specie that is the
tyger. The first stanza says, “Tyger! Tyger! Burning bright in the forest of the
night...” Shows the color of tiger, which is orange. The also used alliteration in this
stanza, Burning, burning and Tyger, Tyger.
The use of rhyming words in the poem is also used; aspire, fire, bright, night, art,
heart, beat, feet, chain, brain, clasp and grasp.
In the first and last stanza the author also used metaphor while comparing the
sparkly eyes of the tiger with the fire.
