Serena Williams was born on September 26, 1981 in the USA. She had her first tennis lesson when she was five
years old. She and her sister, Venus, were both very good at tennis. In 1991 the family moved to Florida and Serena
and Venus started tennis school. In 1995 Serena became a professional tennis player. In 1999 she won the US Open
and in 2000 she won an Olympic gold medal. 2002 was an amazing year for Serena because she won the French
Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.
