Persephone was kidnapped by Pluto and taken to the underworld against her will. She was scared and sad in the cold, gloomy underworld. A conflict arose between Persephone and Pluto as she did not want to be there and responded by refusing to let plants grow. Her mother eventually caught Pluto, imprisoning him, allowing Persephone to return home and feel relief.
