Practical Research - 1 Activity

This document provides a table comparing the key style elements of APA, MLA, and CSW research writing styles. It includes indicators such as alignment, font, indentation, margins, page type, punctuation, and spacing. The document then provides directions for an activity where the reader must 1) differentiate the research writing styles based on the table, and 2) write an essay discussing which style they would choose for a given topic, why, whether it is easier than others, and why multiple styles exist.

B. Direction: Write an essay about the different research writing style. Use the questions below as a
guide in writing your essay.

1. If given a chance on any topic, which style will you use?

2. Why did you choose that style?
3. Do you think the style you have chosen is easier than the other style? Why or why not?
4. Why do think there are many writing style if it does not affect the research itself?
NOTE: Answers in the two activities should be written separately in a clean short bond paper .This is
an INDIVIDUAL TASK

If I were given any topic, I will choose APA because as I have observed, in academic most
teacher will prefer the APA format. APA format is also widely used in research papers and such. Since I
will be pursuing a course related to medicine, I believe that APA will be useful especially research
papers. I don’t think that APA is easier compared to the other writing style because it is commonly used
in the field of science. For me, I think MLA is easier compared to the other because it only need simple
format. I think that there are many writing styles for the content and data to be presented properly and in
an organized manner. Writing styles is used for the readers to easily understand what they are reading.
Since not all of us have the capacity the understand easily, that is why many writing styles are made to
cater to those people that have different learning capacity than the other.
