Roleplay Script

Cindy: Nurse 1 (N1)

Uni: Nurse 2 (N2)

Ibu: Mom

Ms. A: Ms. A.

Assalamualaikum. We are nursing students of Tanjungpura University. I’m Cindy. I’m Mrs.
Anggraini, I’m Uray as Ms. A, and I’m Uni (Tolong ini difixkan naskahnya. Tinggal isi peran
masing2. Cth: I’m Cindy as Nurse). Today, we are going to show you a video about Treating
DHF Patient in the hospital. Please enjoy.

(At Home, Noon)

Mom : Honey, can you help me cleaning the ditch? It’s so filthy after the flood.

Ms. A : Yes. I’ll do it later.

Mom : I need you now. Come on, help me cleaning this. There will be many mosquitoes.

Ms. A : Trust me, Mom. There won’t be any monsquitoes.

Mom : Fine... I’ll clean this up.

(At night)

Mom : Dear.. don’t forget to close the window, so the midge wouldn’t get in. Here is the
repellent.

Ms. A : Yes.. yes..

Mom : Come on! Just close the window and done. (Cuman disuruh tutup jendela, lalu
selesai)

Ms. A : I’ll close it later.

Yuvita : Do it now! And stop playing with your phone.

Ms. A : Alriiight. I will close the window.

Mom : Good. I’m going to sleep first.

Ms. A : Yeah. Night.


Ms. A finally fell asleep and forgot to close the window. She also forgot to use the repellent.
The house is still dirty because of the flood, and the mosquitoes appeared. Later then, Ms. A
is exposed with DHF. The symptoms showed up in 5 days after.

(5 days later, in the morning)

Ms. A : Moooom.. My head is dizzy (shivering)

Mom : Oh my God... Why is your body so hot?

Ms. A : I feel sick..

Mom : Come on. We are going to the hospital now.

After they arrived at the hospital, the doctor and the nurse examined Ms. A. Ms. A was
diagnosed with DHF. So, Ms. A must be hospitalized.

In the patient room.

N1 : Assalamualaikum. Good morning. I’m Nurse 1. Is this Ms. A?

Ms. A : Right.

N1 : How are you feeling? Are you still feeling nauseous?

Ms. A : Yeah. I’m feeling unwell.

N1 : Alright. I’m going to check your vital signs, okay?

Ms. A : Okay.

N1 : Your blood pressure is 130/80 mmHg. Your body temperature is 39˚C. Your pulse is
90 beats/minute. Ma’am, your daughter has high blood pressure and temperature.

Mom : I see. So, what happens to her?

N1 : Your daughter is still in normal condition because of her immunity system. You can
give her warm compress to lower her temperature.

Mom : I see. Thank you.

N1 : No problem. And if you need anything, you can press this button to call the nurses.

Mom : Understood.

N1 : And if you need the bathroom, it is over there.


Mom : Okay.

N1 : Do you need anything else?

Mom : No. Thank you for your information.

N1 : You’re welcome. Now please excuse me.

In the afternoon

Ms. A : Mommy, I feel uncomfortable. The pillow is not comfy and the light is too bright.

Mom : Alright, dear. I’ll call the nurse.

Mom : My daughter said her pillow is not comfortable and the room is too bright. She has
trouble in sleeping.

N2 : Alright, Ma’am. I’ll bring you the new one.

(A few minutes later)

N2 : Excuse me. Here is the pillow you asked for.

Mom : Oh, thank you so much.

N2 : No problem. Can you sleep?

Ms. A : I can’t. The room is too bright.

N2 : I’ll turn off the lamp, okay?

Ms. A : Thank you.

N2 : You’re welcome. Do you need anything else?

Mom : No. Once again, thank you.

N2 : Okay. If you need something, you can press this button or visit the nurse room. Now
please excuse me.

In the evening

N2 : Good evening. I’m Nurse 2. This is Ms. A, right?

Mom : Right.
N2 : I’ll give you the medicine through intravenous. So you don’t need to be injected.
This is to reduce the fever and nausea, also to cure the Dengue Fever.

Ms. A : I see.

Mom : It seems the IV is not dripping. Can you fix it?

N2 : Here you go. Now it’s fixed. If the IV fluid is not dripping, please press this button.

Mom : I will. Thank you.

Five days later, Ms. A condition is getting better and she is allowed to go home. The nurse is
giving an education to Ms. A and her family to prevent Dengue Fever.

N1 : Assalamualaikum. Good morning.

Mom + Ms. A : Morning

N1 : How are you feeling right now? Feeling any better?

Ms. A : I’m feeling better. The doctor allowed me to go home.

N1 : That’s good. I’ll take off your IV catheter, okay?

Mom : Alhamdulillah. Finally, we can go home, dear.

N2 : But don’t forget to take the medicine regularly, okay? And don’t forget to clean up
the environment. Moreover, there is flood recently. Don’t forget to close the window before
the evening. The rubbish should be burned or buried. And every water containers should be
closed. That’s how to prevent dengue fever,

Mom : I understand. I’ll keep my house clean.

N1 : I just took off your IV catheter. Now you can go home.

Ms. A : Finally I can go home. Let’s go home, mommy.

N1 : Don’t forget to tidy up the bed and the desk before you go home, okay?

Mom : Yes. Thank you.

Nurses : You’re welcome.


And later, Ms. A and her mom went home and cleaned up their home as the nurses’
