YUAN BLANCO
Better Normal By: Yuan Blanco I
My friends and I were just laughing down the hallway,
Planning our errands and projects, everything seems to be okay. A sudden news notified the entire campus, we jumped out of happiness, The school is suspended for a week! Oh wait, is this a sign of a mess? II COVID 19, pandemic, deadly virus; these are everywhere in the news, One week, turned into one month, and months; it’s like we’re on the loose. Many lost their jobs, their loved ones, and I, a mere student, I lost the opportunity to do better, battling with an invisible opponent. III No parties, no hang outs, just at home, feeling all alone, But in reality, there are more important things left unknown. So, instead of being down, ranting, and complaining, I must step up and cope with this better normal that has been thriving. IV This is something quite easy for me having all the resources, But my heart is not at ease knowing many people are experiencing sufferings. Disease and education, these are something that the government should focus on, Sadly, it is not what they’ve been working on, poor Filipinos, fighting the battle alone. V In the end, it’s God’s will that we should trust, No matter what happens, let’s keep our faith and make it last. Tomorrow’s never assured, but there is one thing we should hold on to, Our sense of compassion and kindness that will surely help us all get through.
