ENGLISH 1 - ORAL TASK -20% - 64 HOUR COURSE

TYPE OF TASK: Dialogue


ROLES: Classmates
PURPOSE: Talk about personal information and use greetings and farewells.
PROMPT: You are in the cafeteria in Robledo Campus. You see an English teacher sitting next to you. You greet
him/her, introduce yourself and provide your personal information. Finally, ask him/her about his/her personal
information. The task requires the following aspects:
1. The task will be in pairs and you will be randomly assigned a classmate the same day the oral task is
programmed in TEAMS.
2. Greet and say goodbye properly using the expressions according to the situation.
3. Introduce yourself by including the following information: name, nickname, last name, marital status,
email address, home address, age, social media info, country, gender, birthdate, and some of your interests.
4. Ask personal information questions and be ready to be asked similar questions.
5. Time assigned: 3 minutes each pair.

assigned by using greetings, farewells and personal information;
communicate and send messages so the audience is left with no
questions.
Fluency: produce a cohesive discourse, speech is understandable,
ideas are linked with basic connectors, organize the sentences in a
logical discourse according to the level.
Vocabulary: use vocabulary about greetings, farewells and personal
information and use a variety of vocabulary to make the dialogue
interesting.
Structure: produce the simple present structures (affirmative,
negative), pose and answer information questions, make use of the
greetings and farewells expressions; and use other sentence structures
to make the dialogue interesting.
Pronunciation: pronounce words and ideas without interfering with
the message; and produce intonation patterns of English sounds that
allow the audience to understand the message.
