Fundamental Inspection & Testing

The Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial

Verification qualification is, in essence, designed
to break down the mystery that often surrounds
the inspection and testing subject.

The 2392-10 is designed for those who do not regular test and inspect electrical
installations but would like the skills to be able to complete written electrical installation
certificates.

Above all, a Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification gives
you the necessary skills and confidence to inspect and test installations and conduct
initial verification.

You might be a practising electrician who hasn't worked on inspection and testing
since qualifying, or you might have recently become qualified as an electrician
after working in other disciplines or trades - but rest assured, this course is designed
with you in mind.
City & Guilds 2392-10, Fundamental
Inspection, Testing and Initial
Verification, Level 2 Certificate.
Subjects covered:

1. The safe isolation of electrical systems and

an introduction to Initial Verification
2. How to conduct a visual inspection and
the correct methods of doing so.
3. An introduction to functional testing and
the correct procedure for using a test meter
4. How to interpret and evaluate electrical
test results for customer recommendations
5. How to complete Installation Test
Certificates and the Schedules of Tests

I have to admit I was dreading the
theory, but with their unique approach,
I had no problems at all. If I ever got
stuck they were there to help...

Inspection and testing is an important part of an electrician’s work and this course
not only helps you understand testing but also gives you a nationally recognised
qualification that allows you to test and inspect new electrical installations.

People with little experience of inspection and testing of electrics such as plumbers,
kitchen fitters or landscape gardeners etc would find this course useful as it is a ‘
foundation’ in inspection and testing that has been proven to greatly improve your
prospects of passing further inspection and testing courses.

This electrical course provides a clear progression route, helping you progress to
higher level electrical work meaning you could for example, move on to work in the
Building Services Industry, develop your self employed career or move into electrical
design after completing further technical courses.

Examination Details: .

The course provides you with thorough and

intensive tutoring giving you the knowledge to
be able to undertake Inspection and Testing
tasks by using typical and often found every
day scenarios.

The final online and practical exam is the

culmination of this course with the remainder
of the course covering the technical
calculations and the underpinning knowledge
required to gain a complete understanding of
the inspection and testing processes.

A significant amount of time is spent teaching

you the elements stated above. This is one of
the reasons why our pass rate is one of the
highest in the country.
After this course most students undertake the
City & Guilds 2395-01: Periodic Inspection
and Testing of Electrical Installations
Certificate. Completing both courses as a
package ensures that you have the practical
experience as well as a thorough
knowledge of testing and inspecting
electrical work.
