Respected Teachers & my dear Friends, I feel proud to speak about Bapu on Gandhi jayanti. There isn't a single country in the whole world where the name Mahatma Gandhi isn't known. Why did Gandhi become so famous? It was because he dedicated his whole life to the service of the motherland and the service of humanity. He was born in India on 2nd october 1869 in Porbandar , Gujarat. His method of winning Independence for India was unique . The method of truth & non-voilence. What he achieved in his life was a miracle. He lived in the hearts of millions of Indians and was respected by all. He laid great emphasis on banishing untouchability, promoting religious harmony, promoting literacy and in the development of a great nation —India. He moved the people with his sincerity and sacrifice.. His name lives on. Even after all these years, his principles, dedication and mission continue to inspire the country. This is why he is also called Father of Nation. Mahatma gandhi summed up his philosophy of life with his words “”My Life is my message””
