INTRODUCTION
Among ancient scholars and priests and cultic initiated the basic geometric patterns were seen
naturally to be found in planetary orbits’ and constellations’ partitioning of the sky. These
patterns were regarded as being loaded with religious significance.

The 1,200 year-old pilgrim route in Spain leading too Santiago’s famous relic has always had a
clear allusions to the ideas of a route up to the starry sky. The route is still mentioned with the
star-connected designation Via Lacta, ‘Milky Way’.

The interesting old material about these circumstances is a connecting string through the old
world history along to present day. One of the best accounts in connection with the World-axis
is the text about St. Paul’s voyage to Rome.

The ancient writers ranging from Homer and later Dante had in their texts extra layer of codes
and references to certain celestial patterns and stellar conditions.

Mystery cults in Antiquity knew of a celestial geometry based in cosmological doctrines - a

specific knowledge which further was linked to the ancient art of alchemy.

As with the perception of the constellations in the sky in Antiquity also the Egyptian astronomy
learning was much mythological with an underlying logic and understanding. Later, many
corresponding features can be seen in the Greek star myths. Astronomy’s art of science
combined with advanced geometry was included in the architecture of pyramids and temples.
To all ancient priest-astronomers the studying of star world was a sacred science.

The 1200-year-old pilgrim route in Spain, leading to Santiago’s famous relic,

.m

is called “St James’ road to the stellar field” and is still mentioned with the star
connected name Via Lacta, the ‘Milky Way’. The ancient traditions are recognized
also from other similar reports and it shows a common thread through
the old world history to the present.

The Spanish pilgrim route to the stars

According to the Catholic Church, a tomb, which was believed to contain the Apostle James’
skull was in 814 AD found by the hermit Pelayo at a special place in northern Spain. The skull
as a relic has moved to here where, according to tradition, he had been on a mission.

In medieval times, when everything was deeply religiously rooted even among criminals, it had
often happen that a criminal could avoid execution if he was sent on pilgrimage to Spain and
further on to Compostella, then was spared his punishment when he at his return showed a
document from the site.
With an in fact a ‘double bottom’ significance this route in Spain to a special holy place has
strong parallels to the last journey of St. Paul, the Apostle (see Ove von Spaeth’s book ”The
Secret Religion”, chapter 22). This journey, St. Paul’s journey to Rome, seems symbolic to follow
a celestial pattern of selected lines of sight between the stars that were given particular
attention: A system well-known in the ancient religious cultures’ overwhelming preoccupation
with the starry world.
The route - across northern Spain to the pilgrimage site - is still called Via lactea, Latin for ‘the
Milky Way’.

The ”Milky Way”, the old pilgrim road to Santiago de Campo Stella,
- and along the route a number of cities are with star names.

The route symbolizes the world-axis alignment in the sky and from the sky a reflection down
on the earth where the pilgrims thus had to pass through towns with star names like Astor and
Estella (‘star’), Burgos (Arabic-Spanish: ‘Zodiac’), Leon (Spanish: the constellation Leo) and La
Coruna (the constellation Corona Borealis) - until just before reaching Capo Finisterre (‘land’s
end’, the star Canopus) they reached the site of the apostle James’ skull in the city of Santiago
(St. James) de Compostela.
The last part of the city name is from the Church’s original Latin designation for this location:
Campus Stellae, ‘the Stellar field’.
11
The Pilgrim road to Santiago de Compostella was always shown on the early maps.
Left: a pilgrim with the Jacob shell emblem on the hat and sleeve.

Jacob’s ladder
This term ‘Stellar Mark’ has direct allusions to the famous episode of the apostle’s namesake,
the original Jacob, Isaac’s son in ”Genesis”(28:11-19). In a region called Luz, he had lain down
with a stone under his head (skull) in an open field during the night stars and observed a
”ladder” from earth to heaven.

The motif is known - the World-axis as a scala cosmica (see also Greek myth of Jupiter’s path
from the high and down to Leda on the earth), a ladder on which angels went up and down.
The planets that astrologically could be read as messages were in Hebrew tradition also called
”archangels”.

Later, in Greek and Latin a pun was formed on angels, Greek angelos, ‘messenger’, and angulus,
the astrological ”the message carrying angles” between the planets. Jacob of the Old Testament
- named the field with the stars above him: Bethel, i.e. ‘God’s house/home’ - in fact this field
was thus referred to as (an echo of) ”Heaven”, the home of both God and the stars/angels.

According to ancient Rabbinical writings, when fleeing from Isaac the only thing that Jacob took
with him, was a special stick. It is known later as ”Jacob’s staff”, a cross-staff as a very popular
astronomical instrument.

According to the myth the staff was made by a branch from the Tree of Life, a familiar name for
the Milky Way’s course across the sky - and a clear reference to the astronomical topic.
Symbolically a branch from the Tree of Life was a magic wand: as an astronomical measuring
instrument it is a rod with transverse ribs and in use - and literally - it looks like ”a small ladder
to the sky”. It was used from Antiquity and as far into the 1700’s.

Milky Way, our galaxy cross-section as seen from Earth is actually a cut lens - galaxies are
thickest in the middle. A previously unexplored natural phenomenon is the light that crosses
through a lens in width from edge to edge. The alternate prism effect of this cosmic radiation will act
as a co-influential factor for impact and the development of life on Earth.

Ancient texts on important lines of sight between the stars

A similar tradition as in northern Spain, where the Church established the still used pilgrimage
site of Santiago de Compostela, could thus be seen practiced also as ”the St. Paul-journey” -
with a parallel background in the ancient cultic mysteries of the stars.

This ”hidden St. Paul-journey” in a layer below the normal reading text in the ”Acts”, chapters
26-28, is a mystery report for the initiates. The concept that the special method in the report can
show the course of a journey, for instance, was certainly not an uncommon approach at that
time. Likewise in the case of St. Paul’s see voyage to Rome, the path went via a number of cities
and places with names which, as we shall see, are similar to star names.

In the same way as in the St. Paul text in the New Testament a significant esoteric astro-
geometric information can be read in Church father Clement of Alexandria’s work,
”Paedagogus” (from the 200’s AD).
13
In the inner layer of the message Clement (”Paedagogus” III, 59.1) refers to special celestial
geometric relationships of lines of sight between the stars Lyra and Canopus and from there to
Andromeda (‘the dove’) and Pisces:
”... your seal must be the dove, or the Ship of the Heavens which they are heading for, or
the Harp of Music - as recorded about the apostles/fishermen (apostoli piscatoris) ... ”.

A similar principle is followed in Homer’s ”Odyssey”, known in the form of being written
down from the 700’s BC. In this, the course of the sea voyage is like an accurate star route. In the
fifth song (verses 270-275) Odysseus is being instructed that - from the basic point of the ship’s
rudder (Greek: canopus!) - he should follow key lines of sight in patterns between the Pleiades,
Bootes, the Big Dipper, and Orion - whereby the course is east and northeast.

The principle of the built-in code-style information - where Homer’s Iliad text of the Odyssey
seems to accommodate the extra dimension with a mentally visualized (memory support) ”sky
map” - can also be seen, albeit in a different form, in Florence & Kenneth Wood’s ”Homer’s
Secret Iliad; the Epic of the Night Skies Decoded” (1999).

The Iliad as allegorical astronomy may provide the solution to the long and somewhat tedious
recitation of numbers of ships and their crews (especially in the ‘book II’), a form that might
otherwise look like an abrupt change in style. I in literature these circumstances were hitherto
as an enigma and regularly there are published also long and tedious attempts of explanation.

The constellation Argo, the Ship, has - in Homer’s in fact astro-mythological account
- the World-axis as its mast, and the star Canopus as the rudder. The illustration
shows Odysseus tied to the mast while he is observing Medusa (the star Algol).

Celestial geography and World-axis hidden in other literature

More recently a weaker version is known regarding the principle of multiple layers in the text,
since Jules Verne (1828-1905) in his classic science fiction book “Journey to the Moon”, from
1865, indicates precisely on lunar positions and phases along the way.

By a closer study of lunar tables the information in question appears as originating from the
Moon’s actual positions during the winter months in a year close to his book’s publication,
presumably while he wrote the book and used the then current positions for the lunar cycle.
14
A digression: seen from present, Jules Verne’s ideas on the first lunar journey might in his
version appear even as a clairvoyant’s report on the later first real moon travel:
For instance, six strong points can be highlighted: 1. - the firing of an upright projectile (rocket
shape) and not as usual a round (cannon)ball. 2. - the launch took place in Florida. 3. - the time
of travel is only a few days. 4. - in space a frozen dead dog is in circulation. 5. - three men are
on board. 6. - on the return trip they are guided forward to the Pacific Ocean and picked up by
a US warship.
How did he have such detailed knowledge of the future? Everything was done exactly that
way! But not until 104 years later: in June 1969.

Left: Measuring stellar distances by a Jacob’s staff.

Right: The Russian sheepdog Laika, the first living creature sent into orbit - was
launched by Russian satellite Sputnik, 3.Nov.1957, (Russian memorial stamp).

Similar circumstances as with Jules Verne’s lunar positions can be observed with author J.R.R.
Tolkien (1892-1973). Tolkien made the Moon’s position on any given day in his famous trilogy
”The Lord of the Rings” to be corresponding to its actual position in the in the sky during these
days in 1954-1955, where he in detail finalized this trilogy’s often older writings.

In Tolkien’s book also a (guiding) star plays a key role in the book by leading two main
characters, Frodor and Sam, up the Mount Doom in order to destroy the Ring.

But especially in the Irish writer James Joyce’s book “Ulysses”, from 1922, several locations are
purposely presented according to the principle also to be seen in the St. Paul narrative, but by
Joyce it is now with Homer as the key. Joyce’s work is filled with description of actual
astronomy, as well as hidden astro-mythology.

There are at least three streams into one. Likewise built into one of these active layers is also a
hidden geometric pattern: by looking at a map of Dublin, the protagonist’s city tour/odyssey is
followed: the route reveals to be forming an accurate, giant cross.

And the practice of including an astronomical-astrological extra layer in a text was known-
although today’s mostly overlooked - in ancient times in a more or less open form, for example
as in the Bible, and by Homer, Plutarch, Suetonius, and certain Church fathers, and in
Bhagavad-Gita, and later by Omar Khayyam.

Queen of Heaven Isis reflected as the Virgin Mary

In ancient times it was for millennia a familiar concept that in the sky the Milky Way was a
cosmological highway to the goddess Isis who in this context was expressed as the star Sirius.
This, our brightest star, is located near the ‘lower’ end of the Milky Way.

When Christianity became dominant in the Roman Empire, the Isis-as-Sirius star was identified
with the Virgin Mary. This can be seen in ”Onomasticon” written by St. Jerome who was the
most famous scholar of early Church, and in the 300’s AD he translated the Bible into Latin.
15
The star is then seen often referred to as Stella Mariae - and Maria was already known from “the
Revelation of John” (12:1) as the celestial queen, a designation known as the goddess Isis’ title
right from the earliest times of ancient Egypt. “As in heaven, also upon earth”: seen as a
“reflection from the sky” in the earthly geography this road to reach Maria could be used for a
special pilgrimage.

Another form of the star’s name was known as Stella Maris, the ‘sea star’, this bright star Sirius
was excellent for navigating at sea. - But later at some point navigation’s also so necessary North
Star was also called by the same name: Stella Maris.

This was perhaps because memories and ideas existed about the so-called original Northstar,
Lyra (Vega), which is located at one pole of the World-axis. This axis as an important line of
sight - formed from heaven three brightest stars Canopus, Sirius and Lyra/Vega - are so to say the
very core bar of the Milky Way. An association existed just continued through the tradition.

Virgin Mary figure, here called Our Lady of Walshingham,

in the Slipper Chapel (seal, from the Middle Ages).

The English pilgrim route to the stars

The Spanish route, El Camino de Santiago de Compostella, ‘the road of St. James at the stellar field’,
is called the Milky Way. Since Bishop Theodomir had instituted the road in the year 835 the
route/road has allegedly led pilgrims forward to a relic known as ”the skull of the Apostle
Jacob” which later was placed in the Cathedral of Santiago. After reaching their goal the
pilgrims set a shell (from a seashell) on their hat, a sign showing that they had completed.

The star pilgrimage concept was also in function other places. The idea was practiced in
England in a ‘reversed’ relationship, where it was now the Milky Way which was called the Way
of Saint James (Jacob). For over 900 years this English pilgrim route reached from southern
England and up to the Virgin Mary’s chapel in Walsingham (Walsyngham) in Norfolk, approx.
150 km north of London. The place is also called Little Nazareth (associating to ”Mary’s house
and Jesus’ childhood home”) and was regarded as having ‘healing powers’.

Virgin Mary was known as ”Our Lady of Walsyngham”. Her English pilgrim route instituted in
1061, here where a noble lady had a Maria-revelation, became incredibly popular: since the idea
that the-road-to-Mary-in-the-sky is seen as the Milky Way’s celestial connection leading to
Mary’s star Sirius, then the Milky Way was - early on - also called the Walsyngham Way.

The site was one of the four holy places, of which the others were Jerusalem, Rome and
Compostella. When King Henry VIII abolished Catholicism in England in 1538, the use of the
route was stopped. In modern times, the route has become an excursion site, also for many of
today’s Catholic groups.
16
.
At the pilgrim route’s last mile the Slipper Chapel (St. Catherine, Houghton
St. Giles) is placed in Norfolk, from 1325. It was a last resting place before
the pilgrims took off their shoes and walked ”the holy mile.”

The aforementioned James Joyce’s literary masterpiece, ”Ulysses”, from 1922 were known for
his mythological-astronomic code language (further being discussed in Ove von Spaeth’s work
”The Secret Religion”, chapter 22). And in Joyce’s ”Ulysses” (episode 17:1003-1036), he is calling
the Milky Way precisely the Welsingham Way, thus still in 1922 as an established and well-
known name even more than 500 years after this starry route’s closure.

After the 1980’s, both this route in England and especially the Via Lacta in Spain have won
great popularity, and each year these in fact astro-religious medieval routes are a big attraction.

Already by ancient Egyptians it was practiced having star-geographic surveying at the Great
Pyramids at the Nile according to a lay-out by a pattern based on the constellation Orion, which
in the Egyptian version is called Osiris (As). This prospectus is for various reasons discussed but
could never be rejected. Among other things, it was criticized that Orion in that case is
reproduced inverted, but such principle was always a tradition for thousands of years, for
example, also on later European sky maps. By ritual sailing on the River Nile this sacred
waterway was signified as representing the Milky Way located in the sky.

St. Paul’s voyage and the stellar mysteries
Like many ancient texts, also the Bible’s text about ”St. Paul’s journey
to Rome” can be found to contain multiple layers. In this case: a mentally
visualized sky map. On a spiritual level the built-in references of astronomical
nature could be seen as a special survey on an inner journey in the mind.

St. Paul and the stars

All the ancient religions teach about man’s connection with the cosmos - the universe with the
starry world. In some cases, the learning was secret. Also, the New Testament tells about specific
doctrines reserved the disciples of Jesus, but not told to the public. Although the texts seem
written down later, the contents are based on statements from the disciples.

The ancient rabbis had a tradition of practicing more or less codified readings in what they
considered as some “built-in extra layers” in the Old Testament texts. In a similar way some
hidden layers seem also to be found in the New Testament.
The following can demonstrate that they according to the same principle contain references of
astronomical trait. It even includes a concept that it on a spiritual level as a mental ”sky map”
could be seen as the projection of an inner journey in the mind.
When Mohammed ordained the Islamic religion, he believed that the Jews of his day, around
600 AD, in some respects had lost the right understanding of Moses’ teachings. However,
already 600 years earlier, some Jewish sects were fighting the Jewish priesthood about similar
problems. Among these Jewish sects were also the first Christian groups.

In the New Testament the Jewish-Roman personality, Paul, is mentioned in the ”Acts” that he
became a preacher of the Christian doctrine. He was a former pupil of Rabbi Gamaliel, a
renowned expert of the Torah and of astronomical calendar calculation.

On a trip to a Greek Christian congregation, Paul stated that he was using quotations from
Greek poets, in this case Aratos (Aratos of Soli, ca. 310-240 BC).
In his sermon (17:28) at Areopagos, the ‘Mars Hill’ at Athens, Paul quoted from the fifth verse of
Aratos’ esoteric astrological poem, ”Phainomena”.
At this place Paul, prior to this action, had recognized an altar which by esoteric custom had the
inscription: ”To an unknown god”. He then used this expression to his audience to explain the
understanding of his concept of God. In addition, he had talks with the local Epicurean and
Stoic philosophers.

An altar with an inscription, ”To An Unknown God”, on the Palatine hill in Rome from 100 BC. An altar of
a very similar type with the same inscription, ”To An Unknown God”, stood on the Mars field at Athens.
21
Quotingsuch intellectuals as Aratos seems hardly relevant to the crowd which could not be
presumed to be well versed in the mystery cults’ astro-mythological codified language.
However, the speech also had to be understood simultaneously in a completely different way.

That such was the intention for using the Aratos quote - which also later men of the Church, for
example, Clement of Alexandria and Eusebius of Caesarea used - seems thus confirmed since
some other early Church fathers as Jerome, Chrysostom, and Oecumenius in the same spirit
also have used the references to this star-mythic poem by Aratos.

When regarding Paul’s way of application it cannot be denied that he was in agreement with
astro-mythology or astrological factors. In "2 Corinthians" (12:2), he mentions a person who by
his death "... was pulled up to the third Heaven ...".

In connection with the cult’s doctrines of the stars it can be summed up that Paul in "Acts" is
referred to as a "tent-maker" which in cultic terminology would mean that his mission also had
to do with "the tent of the sky". This was a not an unusual expression for sky’s star-patterned
cover and with the World-axis being the significant tent pole.

Later, in the "Acts" in the section on Paul's famous journey to Rome, another aspect built into
the text's structure appears - which will come to light in the following. His journey can be seen
associated with mystery-cultic doctrine: A spiritual journey as a "symbolic, inner journey”.

In Athens, in later times, a plaque in bronze was erected on the place where Paul had preached.

22
The chapters 26-28 in the "Acts" state that Paul sailed with a ship originating in Alexandria. But
on the island of Malta - where ocean currents split into two courses - the ship ran hopelessly
stuck at a rock. By this the ship lost its steer oar and got the stern prow shattered. All onboard
were rescued on Malta. At that place Paul made a poisonous snake harmless.
For the onward journey after the shipwreck of the Alexandrian vessel, and still according to
"Acts" (28:11), he used again:
"... a ship from Alexandria at (or by) the star sign of Gemini (parasemo Dioscuri) ... ".

The zodiacal sign Gemini, the twins, was well known as an astronomical and astrological term.
It is reflected in the glossary in the work "Greek Horoscopes", by historian of science Otto
Neugebauer & H.B. van Hoesen, published by American Philosophical Society ("Memoirs", Vol.
48, 1959). Often, the meaning was not known among the many Bible translators - and was
instead reproduced as if Gemini was designed as a ship front’s figurehead, although depictions
and descriptions from Antiquity regarding such a type of ship figure was not characteristic.

Also, the method of including an astronomical-astrological extra layer in a text - as dealt with
here - was well known in ancient times in many different cultures.

St. Pauls’ star course journey

This whole St. Paul narrative in the New Testament is full of strange details. Here it is especially
strange that many of the sites, which it mentions having been passed by Paul, had names that
were similar or directly were known as star names.

It is also noteworthy that several major cities and locations, which Paul inevitably must also
have passed on his route, are not even mentioned. It can be shown that, evidently, these did not
have star-like names. An otherwise hidden pattern is now appearing.

In this text it seems that there is really to be found a double layer on the surface and it is
rendered in the narrative on St. Paul's journey, but for the initiated it is simultaneously
reproduced in a special narrative which had relation to the mystery cults’ expanded, here
esoteric, stellar knowledge

Regarding Malta - the island which lies between Sicily and Africa - it has been hypothesized
that instead it took place on “another Malta-island" at the coast of what is present Albania.
However, it is of minor importance to the text’s "hidden star map" and astrological symbolism.

The island’s name Malta appeared on the maps after the 1550’s but was in use some time before.
Until then it was called (as in the Greek Bible text) by its original Greek name Melita, 'the honey
island' - because of its honey exports dating back to Antiquity. But Melita was also the Greek
name for a particular star. Its current (Arabic) name is Algol.

At that time the star was known as the "unfortunate star" with a Greek astro-mythological
name, the Medusa-head "with poisonous snakes in her hair" - which the hero Perseus overcame.
On Melita/Malta, Paul performed snake subjugation. It associates also to the myth where the
snake in the Tree of Knowledge tempted Lilith, (and to religion founder Moses and his skills).

Lilith was known in Semitic culture both as the "sweet as honey"-appealing and at the same
time the dangerous Lilith with a snake tail - and is known in the myths as "Adam's first wife."
The Greeks called her Medusa, a name originally received via Persia from Indian-Dravidian
(Tamil) cults, where she was called Maha-madhusa, i.e. the big “honey”demon woman.

As with the other "star names" that is observed in this Paul-narrative, here in this context is
clearly talking about Melita as the star, since neither then nor later were there any snakes on the
island.
23
The Apostle Paul's voyage to Rome. The route is described in the biblical
narrative include passing cities that have the same names as stars.

The Bible states that "the promised land is flowing with milk and honey". How many preachers
and religious teachers took it literally by ‘naively’ painting impressive pictures of the Israelite
people's thirst and hunger for "milk and honey" after many years in the desert?

But why should this be especially desirable to this people since there was enough milk from
their large flocks of sheep and goats, and access to honey from wild bees in the desert
(wilderness) whereas the land of Canaan was rich in grain, wine, olives and fruit? So this
famous statement seems in fact also having meant something else.

In numerous languages the name "Milky Way" is well-known. By mystery cultic interpretation
it seems that Moses and the chosen people with the new religion and years of tribulation were
to enter Canaan, the "land flowing with milk and honey" - i.e. Milky Way (which runs along the
World-axis, "kana", the World Tree) and passes the "honey star" Melita (Medusa/Lilith).

And similarly, Paul was now to lead his congregation along the right path with that of Jesus’
teachings on the basis of renewal of the Moses Law.

Geography in the heavens reflected in the earthly plane

The route by which Paul sailed appears geographically as a zigzag course between different
sites being mentioned. While, however, its course in the sky appears as one continuous straight
line between the stars that have similar names or designations as the earthly places!

It is seen simultaneously as a mystic-symbolic journey of the mind - the idea is recognized in:
the Greek Odyssey, the Indian "Bhagavad Gita", the Arabic "Thousand and One Nights", the
Celtics’ the Grail and King Arthur - and Latin medieval literature. Such concept appears, as we
shall see, also behind the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, and the principle is
described (e.g. by Carl Jung) as seen in a person's mind while carrying out a alchemy process.

The story of the apostle Paul's journey to Rome - which was his fourth and last great journey -
has been called a stylistic high point in Acts, chapters 26 to 28. Especially the chapter 27 with
the narrative on the dramatic voyage and the shipwreck on the way.
This was Admiral Nelson's favorite reading which he always carried with him. For instance, he
read it in the morning before the Battle of Copenhagen in 1807. But first and foremost, he read it
24
on his journey in the waters referred to, namely, just before the battle - August 1st, 1798 - where
he defeated the French fleet, off the coast of Egypt Abukir (Al Bekur) at Canopus.

This town, now Alexandrian suburb, Canopus, located 8 km east of Alexandria city center - and
approx. 20 km west of Rosette. (The place where a French engineer lieutenant in 1799 found the
later so famous Rosetta stone which inscriptions with three languages contained the key for
solving the riddle of the hieroglyphs).

In the sky the constellation Argo, the Ship, with the main star Canopus as the stern with the
steering oar, is located exactly as by the words of the Bible text:
"... at (or in) the sign of The Twins (the Dioscuri: Castor and Pollux)... ".
- which, in the sky, is the sector of the Gemini constellation.

Both the old and the new ship in the biblical text were based in Alexandria, which as "known by
everybody" were back then built as an extension of the city of Canopus. In Alexandria was -
alongside Sun Street and Moon Street - the famous main street, Canopus Street that led out to
Canopus City.
One of Antiquity's most famous star-gazers, the astronomer Ptolemy, used Canopus as the basis
of his observations, both for geographical and star-locations. Thus he carried out the celestial
observations in this city - from Serapeum’s, i.e. the Serapis temple’s, terrace walls.

The Canopus star was always considered to be particularly significant. For example, the
invading Arabs could from their castle in Fuengirola in southern Spain catch sight of this very
southern star on the horizon, and they gave the castle - from which tower the star constantly
was observed - the name Suhail. This was the star's early Arabic name, which was included in
the term al Anwar in Suhaili, i.e. 'the light from Canopus' which in Arabic tradition was
synonymous with wisdom (cf. the inner journey).

Acts (27:38) presents the occupants’ number as either 276 (i.e. an anomaly in a merchant ship
even if it includes a number of passengers) or just 76.
The figures in the text are different depending on whether it is a biblical manuscript in which
later writers of unknown reason has added "200" (diakosiai) in the margin - or it is from a
manuscript (e.g. the "Westcott and Hort" manuscript) which, totally free of additions, only has
76 listed.
Exactly this number is recognized in connection with the World-axis’ star formed line in the
sky, with Canopus as a base point leading up through the Gemini constellation.

In the age of St. Paul, it was the 76th day after the vernal equinox when the sun crossed this
World-axis line. The World-axis was known for its location along the 76th longitude measured
from the equinox point where it was located during that age.

Thus it was referred to in the underlying Paulus episodes text, even with multiple entries, for
the constellation Argo, The Ship (with the Canopus star) as well as its position in Gemini in the
sky at this the 76th longitude (when equinox based).

Ancient history is replete with examples of that the heavenly "geography" was understood to be
reflected in the earthly ground. The connection is also seen when Paul and his traveling party,
after staying at Melita (Malta), they, according to the report, are passing the town Syrakousas in
Sicily. This island's Greek name was Trikhon, 'wheat (island)’, but was often called by the almost
identical name/word Trigon, 'triangle ', based on the island’s well-known triangular shape.

Based on the mentioned reflection principle the location of Melita’s (Malta’s) earthly geography
near Trigon (Sicily) will be seen equivalent to those in the star Melita’s/Medusa’s location on the
sky near the triangle-shaped constellation Trigon/Triangulum.
25
Astronomical dating hidden in report on St. Paul's voyage
By following the same principle in the narrative on St. Paul’s voyage, there can be observed
several other names of places and cities which are also names of constellations in the "celestial
geography". This includes Cauda, the little island off the town of Phoenix on Crete. The name of
the city is still recognizable in its current name Phineka - and fits exactly with the text's mention
of the special conditions for the seaway entering, although the town no longer is used as a port.

However, Cauda was also a widely used term for the one of the two so-called moon-nodes.
These represent the two positions where the Moon's orbit crosses the Sun's orbit (the ecliptic) in
the sky. And Phoenix was known also as a constellation - in Antiquity defined by having a
larger size than on present star maps and filled the bottom through the celestial sector of Aries.

Then, this narrative on the St. Paul journey specifies that during the violent storms the ship's
crew was losing hope because these folks "lost sight of the Sun and the stars". Here there seems
to be a built-in allusion to an eclipse. Such an eclipse was commonly perceived as a strong
warning of potential accidents - so the hope was easy to lose, just as the text says.
Eclipses are known for adding to the enhancing of storms and turmoil at the sea (due to
gravitational forces of Sun and Moon having always an enhanced pulling by just such
astronomical circumstances. One of these violent and feared storms in the Mediterranean drove
the ship - which, as most ships at that time, preferably used coastal shipping – now out to sea
on the long stretch from the Cauda island at Crete and all the way to Malta.

Eclipses can only occur when both the Sun and Moon are placed in one of their lane two
meeting points in common, the "lunar nodes". These always opposite-to-each-other-situated
points, making a continuous, slow backward movement on the Ecliptic, and such retrograde
cycle takes 18.6 years. It contributes presenting a fairly precise dating of the St. Paul-journey.

On a star map it can be observed that those star-named locations which St. Paul passed, is located in the
sky on an entire right line from Canopus to Andromeda. The right line placed lower on the map is showing
the World-axis extending from Canopus via Sirus to Lyra, a course which follows the Milky Way's course.
26
- Thus about every 18th year, Cauda, the "descending node", is to be located next to the
constellation Aries and here in the same sector also pass the constellation Phoenix. While at the
same time the second (and rising) node, Caput, is - in its position on the other side of the ecliptic
sky circle exactly opposite to Cauda – to be found at the constellation Libra.

St. Paul's journey is considered, also by various well-known historical facts which in general are
included in the description, to have taken place in the year 60 AD. It can now be confirmed with
great accuracy. St. Paul is indicating that the fast - which took place at a date related to the Day
of Atonement, the Jewish feast of Yom Kippur - was over a short time earlier.

Yom Kippur’s date - always ten days after the first visible crescent Moon at the end of
September - was held in this year 60 AD at 24th of September (expressed here in modern
calendar style), i.e. when the Sun is in the Libra constellation.

Then the wind raised to be a storm and the ship was blown off course for many days. Based on
this it can be calculated - as already done in F.K. Ginzel's still authoritative work, ”Spezieller
Kanon der Sonnen- und Mondfinsternisse ...” (Berlin 1899) - that an eclipse took place on the
morning of 11th of October in the year 60.

By this the one moon-node, Caput, was located in Libra. The second node, Cauda, in Aries (in
the 12th ecliptic degree), was thus very close to Phoenix - that is exactly as indicated in the text.

The solar eclipse is being identified

The constellation Phoenix (the Arabs’ mythical 'the Bird Rock') was also called Pavu(s), 'Peacock'
which - like the myth’s Phoenix bird - was used as a symbol of rebirth, and with the Christians
it was a symbol of eternal life (Bird Phoenix “lived 500 years between each rebirth”). In the St.
Paul-episode the group of travelers winters in Phoenix - this has a double significance included.

According to R.H. Allen's standard work on star names in history, "Star Names, Their Lore and
Meaning" (rev. ed., New York, 1963), the constellation of Phoenix's western part (present name
Grus/Crane) was also called Highpriest Ahron - a relic from the mystery cults’ stellar teachings.

One year earlier, i.e. in year 59, in the month of April one of the rarely seen total eclipses
appeared, i.e. that the whole solar disc was covered. This event attracted so much attention that
it was referred to by all three Roman historians: in Pliny the Elder "Naturalis Historia" (2180)
and in Tacitus' "Annales" (14.12) and by Dio Cassius (61,16,4).The latter describes a further
effect of this total eclipse: that even "the stars were visible" - though it was midday.

The year-59-eclipse followed a line crossing the globe - a narrow belt across the Mediterranean
from west to east - and passed exactly over Malta. How can it now be demonstrated through St.
Paul’s story of his voyage to Malta that the event took place at the time for another eclipse than
the famous one, from the year 59 AD, which "all talked about"?

In contrast to Dio Cassius' description, the St. Paul narrative indicates that the stars could not be
seen - and it was unusual to note when their "invisibility" was just normal for such non-total
eclipses.

The explanation can be seen by the fact that "St. Paul's eclipse" under the October storm in the
year 60 AD was visible in the Mediterranean's eastern half - including the Crete area. In the
night prior to the event, it is a fact that the Moon passed by and directly covered for even two
highly brilliant stars (celestial bodies) of a special nature, namely, the planets Jupiter and
Mercury, so they will not be visible.

27
Stone relief from the Roman period showing a Greek vessel
of the same type as the ship of St. Pau’s voyage.

In Antiquity, the planets were also called for stars, "wandering stars". They were at that time (cf.
for instance, "Tuckerman's Ephemeris" II, pp. 47-48) to be located directly on the ecliptic and
near the lunar node, - and toward the morning the sun was darkened.
Thus, the first stars and later the sun were darkened for a period, namely in phases which
altogether took place through more than one day, exactly as it appears from the text: these
celestial bodies, "(wandering) stars" were out of sight through longer time than the day in question.
To sum up, it was expressed that 14-16 days after the departure began - according to modern
astronomical calculations - a solar eclipse. And precisely that this phenomenon seems reflected
in the St. Paul text.

From Moses' covenant to the new covenant - in a codified form

Regarding St. Paul's shipwreck noted in the "Acts", chapters 26 to 28, the ship's bow was
standing steadfast, while two "streams" - now to be understood as the old and the new direction of
Moses' religion - worn and broke the steering of the ship, i.e. the old covenant or old teachings.

The voyage with the first Alexandrian ship started at the city of Myra (Myrrh), located in Lucia,
here understood as "echoes" of Jacob’s aforementioned place Luz with the sky ladder. Myrrh
also meant ‘incense’ - cf. that in the Bible Jahweh could be present in the smoke/incense.

There was a symbolism in the fact that passengers and crew were rescued to the cost using the
smashed parts of the ship's stern at the steering oar, the rudder ("base: Canopus at the foot of the
World-axis"). And a symbolism also in that they could continue the voyage by a new ship - the
new covenant - which like the first ship was based on Canopus (Alexandria) and was
characterized "by Gemini", beneath which the Ship constellation and the Canopus star are located.

The symbolism was well known, for example. Bishop Zeno of Verona was generally being
understood, when he (in 360 AD) in a sermon, "To Learn" (1.38), wrote that Gemini represents
the Old and New Testament.

Nearly 1,500 years after the time of Moses the foundation of his teachings in the old covenant
thus came out to the world, but in a renewed shape: "the new ship."
28
The idea in the narrative to describe religions as "ships" was also a familiar tradition - already
among the Buddhists soon their religion's two main directions were called the "small vessel" (an
exclusive Buddhism) and "big vessel" (the common religion). At many places the Christians -
from their earliest teachings with several features from a background in common older Near
Eastern ideas - called their church buildings for "ships".

The St. Paul narrative mentions that off the Cauda island the sailors - just before the beginning
of the eclipse - had problems with the ship's dinghy behind the stern, until they got it hoisted on
board.
This seems a minor detail to note in such account about the "Acts", until it is understood that in
that world of ideas it seems alluded to the "small vessel"s exclusive (mystery)-teachings. This
"small vessel" along the side of the Ship's stern (Canopus) was during the turbulence of the storm
carried by the "big vessel" and thus it ended the individual navigation of its own.

The text states that both the first and the second big ship came from Alexandria and was going
to Rome. And also that the first ship carried a cargo of grain - circumstances which also seems to
apply to the other ship and it was normal for ships from Alexandria just sailed the main
Egyptian exports of grain to Rome.

Countless times in ancient cultures grain appears as a symbol in the mystery cults at that
ceremony where ears of corn was taken up from a chest/coffin. In many of the languages in
Antiquity 'grain' and its products as 'flour' and 'bread' was the same word or derivations
thereof.

29
The author's photo angle at the visit (1998) in the ancient Greek amphitheater in Myra
(Myrrh) in present-day Turkey. Paul's journey with the first Alexandria-ship started in this city,
located in Lucien, near Turkey's south coast. At that time the city was placed out to sea, but
big shifts and seismic activity caused the distance to the sea being enlarged significantly.

The Bible refers to the expulsion of Adam from Paradise: "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat
bread" - herein are puns (also on the bread, face and sweat) with an alternative significance of
Babylonian origin. The treshing-floor for the grain could often be a holy place (cf. Jerusalem's
Temple) - Hebrew gan - which as magic circle space was associated with the zodiacal circle,
which in the sky surrounds Paradise. .
Cities were founded in connection with the stars of the sky, - Nineveh, Constantinople, Beijing,
Cairo (al Qahira, 'Mars') and Canopus (astro-myth: "the land was found by the Ark’s (Ship’s)
pilot, Canopus"). Alexander the Great sprinkled grain on a circular city-diagram for an oracle of
Alexandria’s foundation at the city of Canopus, in the Egyptian-Greek months Canopus, which is
January-February.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the 'grain house’ or ‘bread house' - and he used symbolism with
bread as the "god's body" at the Eucharist. His parables are often about grain and bread in the
sense of "God's word". There appears thus a certain symbolism by the fact that the people
aboard the first ship during the storm had ceased to eat "outdated" bread/food for a long time,
after which St. Paul gave these people the new bread, so they were in a better position to save
themselves. Therefore, this first ship’s cargo of heavy grain was thrown into the sea.

Apart from the special world of ideas, here was demonstrated that grain was taken up from the
Ship/Ark, as in the familiar ceremony of the mystery cults. And for the people to survive
spiritually, the first ship's cargo of grain - the old teaching - really had to be thrown out.

By the same intent St. Paul gave the people new bread, and the new ship from Alexandria - i.e.
from 'the savior of man' (Greek: alexander) – St. Paul (and the grain) continued to romé. In the
narrative’s Greek-language that word can mean 'Rome', the Christians' growing center, but just
as well mean 'the force' - the Holy Spirit’s way of expression - and "the journey"s real goal. .
In the sky-course, this end-goal was The Dove (both a star name and Christian symbol for the
Holy Spirit), i.e. Andromeda (the galaxy). Andromeda - a Greek term for 'the one who master the
course’ - is included in the star-code’s spiritual instruction of the way to the ‘force’ from the sky.
30
The main marker on the World-axis was the Sirius star. Here is Sirius symbolized by Isis in her sky-boat
that was like a sacred procession vessel on the Nile. This river’s extremely long course was considered
as an earthly reflection of the Milky Way. An aiming line is formed leading to the constellation of Orion
(Osiris in his boat) which Isis in the heavens and in the mythology is associated with.

On reading the text in the text

.

The whole background contains a particular perspective and can hardly solve the textual
problems without knowledge of ancient astronomy and the cultic teachings.
Argo Navis - the ark/ship in the sky - is associated with Noah's Ark, with the Babylonians it was
Utnapishtim's ark, and among the Greeks Deucalion's ark. With the Egyptians it was really Isis'
boat, namely Isis' celestial boat that could moor at the World-axis. But it became more common
to show the moving celestial bodies in boats - even the constellation of Orion (Osiris) in a boat
right next to Isis (who is the star Sirius, located close to Orion) in his boat. .

The Egyptian myth says that Isis and Osiris were brought through the flood by Argo Navis in
its Egyptian version, but in addition that Osiris was revived after his death by being placed in
the floating coffin/ark - likewise the occupants of Noah's ark survived. And in the New
Testament people survived in St. Paul's religion ship.
In the early Church the developed idea was long in use in which people, names, events, etc. in
the Old Testament were considered to have their certain parallels in the New Testament. As the
older cults’ star-myth teachings can be seen embedded in the Old Testament, and applied in the
same way in the New Testament, this "star theology" in St. Paul's drama was not particularly
unusual.
In other words, the case that the text of St. Paul's voyage has one or more bilayers is in line with
similar properties in several ancient texts known. It is a fact that Christian texts in many ways
continued the Old Testament tradition in which it is well documented that the rabbis practiced
a reading of underlying layers in the Bible. Therefore, it is not an unrealistic that there was
organized intentionally a codified reading of the St. Paul voyage. The question would rather be
on the extent to which a possible code is decoded plausibly.
The ancient or original basis of religion did not came from Jerusalem - St. Paul and his secretary,
according also to tradition, the later evangelist Luke, - they knew better: in the narrative are
Moses' doctrines, in fact, shown to have come through "Alexandria/Canopus", in other words,
from Egypt. The author (Paul/Luke) have had clear knowledge of "the Egyptian factor" in the
religion of Moses.
That Moses at exodus took from the Egyptians their gold signifying "wisdom treasures" from
Egypt ("corresponds" here to the grain ship from Egypt) - the later talents or pounds that Jesus
in fact accused the Jewish priesthood to have buried - was in recent times not seen in the
theology of the Church. When many traditions from ancient times came to an end, also the
included star knowledge became lost. The loss is felt by some of today's often 'thin' ideas about
cosmology and stellar conditions in the ancient religious world.

Patterns in the sky and on earth
The four royal stars
The well-known figure in the Bible, Job, came originally from Egypt from where he brought
knowledge, according to the Rabbinical Writings. The biblical text, The Book of Job (38:31), with
the symbolism of strings stretched between the constellations, is known from Egypt. This had a
larger perspective: lines of sight in the sky, important in the cosmological ideas in ancient times.

A great heritage of knowledge regarding the pattern concept in astronomy was known early by
Egyptian priest astronomers. They understood the patterns of the firmament and know how
those connected with the Earth in a dynamic way. The celestial distances were also perceived as
visually connecting lines between the stars and were from early in Antiquity understood as
elements of a geometric design forming many parts in the universe. In the initiation cults such
features were seen as related to esoteric meanings of the Bible’s often used terms such as "God's
measuring string" (for instance, understood as star lines in space) and "God’s ruler" (sacred
geometry).
The star lines offered perspectives on the structure of the cosmos, and the celestial geometry
knowledge in the ancient mystery cults branched off with theory on cosmological cognition and
teachings on religious-psychological archetypes.

The tradition’s views on the very concrete but also image-shaping celestial geometric lines -
with archetypical patterns and structures - were considered not as a result of chance or
subjective interpretation, because these many precise astronomical facts in themselves are based
on the exact accountability, e.g. regarding particular time and measuring.

Many of the ancient celestial geometrical circumstances were later mentioned by Greek astro-
nomer Hipparchus, ca. 135 BC, and by Egyptian-Greek astronomer and astrologer Ptolemy,
around 125 AD. For example, a line of sight was perceived as established from Aldebaran, the
main star in the Taurus constellation, to Antares, the main star of the Scorpio constellation - as
they are in a precise alignment at their mutually opposing positions.

Likewise as in the case of the two mentioned very bright stars, the constellation Leo’s main star
Basiliscus/Regulus is precisely opposite to Aquarius’ main star Sadelmelik. Altogether these
were known in Antiquity as “the four Royal Stars” which in the sky constitute a regular X-cross
without right angles but with two angles of ca. 70° and two of 110°.

An abundant number of examples were known where the one star in such a pair of stars was
ascending, when its “line-related” star was setting at the opposite direction in the sky.
An excellent material collected about certain stars’ connecting position lines is to be found in
the hitherto most extensive dictionary on Antiquity, “Pauly(-Wissowa)’s Real-Enzyklopädie der
classischen Wissenschaft” (Stuttgart, 1894-1980). Also, it contains tables showing “the stars’
raisings and settings” at different sites in antiquity, which will function as a mapping of these
interactions.
The city of Alexandria was founded in 331 BC with its main axis, the Canopus road, as a line of
sight to the royal star Basilikos (Regulus) which the sun passes at Alexander's birthday. (cf.
Magli & Ferro: Astronomical orientation of the urban plan of Alexandria, OJA,vol.31,Nov.2012).

An accentuated symmetry could be perceived, and there was thought to be a particular

precision in the patterns. A widespread and very strong attention about these phenomena was
associated with (like a modern concept) pattern recognition.
It is understandable that the measurable celestial phenomena were regarded with great awe
since it was strongly believed that there was a particular logic in patterns just emerged from the
well-defined lines of sight between stars. The cosmos was associated to temples and pyramids
and shrines by letting important celestial orientations integrate into their designs and direction.
35
Left: Through the ages fitted out temples (here Edfu) often by lines of sight to important stars and solstitial points.
Right: Various important star's rise and settings in the horizons may appear to be from, naturally,
often as "coordinated" by forming a special pattern in time and space that it in ancient
times was put in a real relationship with a strong religious view of the cosmos.

Such conditions were included in the religiously philosophical ideas widespread in the mystery
cults - many showing interrelated, amazing matches - and were considered as signs of a special
cosmos-order of a synchronicity connection with heaven and earth, both regarding living and
physical conditions.
Even as late as in the 16th century great astronomers as Bradley and Roemer noted that the
solar system was moving just “on the line of sight” - constituted by the sky’s three most brilliant
stars - from Canopus via Sirius to Lyra/Vega, exactly following the World-axis across the sky.
Certain features of what earlier in Antiquity in the religious-philosophical outlook could be
seen in the patterns of the entire network of the star link lines, may even appear as getting
closer to an idea about a kind of a visual “superstring concept”

Renaissance astronomer Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) believed that a relationship existed

between numbers as a pattern of particular kind in the distances between planetary orbits, and
not at random. He was wrong concerning his results, but certainly not regarding the fact that a
specific pattern really existed in the relation of numbers. In the 1700’s this was proven as facts
by German astronomer Bode (the Titus-Bode law).

The very relation of numbers was supported very precisely when new planets were found:
Uranus in 1781, Ceres in 1801, Neptune in 1846, and Pluto in 1930. Thus - and according to the
above Titus-Bode law - all fits perfectly the discovery of the specific pattern of numbers of
planetary distances, although still mainly unexplained.

Temples and Winter Solstice. .

In the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, built 3,500 years ago in Deir el-Bahari west of Luxor,
Senmut, the Grand Vizier, who was also a brilliant and innovative architect, had engraved in
the foundation stone a kind of horoscope for the foundation of the temple (according to French
Egyptologist Suzanne Ratie’s “La reine-pharaon”, Paris 1972). The temples constitute or
represent “a part of the sky” in the terrestrial world.
36
It is also established that Senmut has arranged the temple building in the way that a long line of
sight of several kilometres points from the central axis in the large Temple of Karnak (north of
present Luxor) and further crossing the Nile and all the way out to the Valley of Kings, where it
eventually is united with the central axis of Hatshepsut’s Temple of Hathor in front of the
mountain.
.An accuracy deviation of the line of sight is less than 2 degree of arc. (The axis is dealt with in
Ove von Spaeth’s book-series on the historical Moses, vol. 2, “The Enigma of the Son of
Pharaoh's Daughter”, depicted on the map, p. 64). The temple-axes’ difference mutually is due
to the Karnak temple was constructed earlier in an astronomical direction according to the
Earth changing position.

Few people know about the axis of the 5 km between Hatshepsut's temple and the Karnak
temple - and even less the fact that it is assigned a special significance - which can be identified
by collecting the various available data on this. The axis' geographical angle will exactly
indicate that in reality it is placed directly on the very line of winter solstice.
This can be observed, concretely, at the very site: the sun will appear at solstice on the shortest
day of the year - approx. on December 21st - which was important, because at this special
turning point length of the days will again begin to increase.

And in Luxor (Karnak) the passage of the sun will follow exactly the central axis of the Temple
of Karnak in east and further on. On that particular day it is possible to track the sun in the
morning when it rises precisely in the centre at the end of the ‘main street’ of the Temple of
Karnak, where the sun beams hit in a special, brilliant way without ‘wry’ angles.

It was also of great significance that with this date the point of the year was reached when,
simultaneously, Sirius - considered by the Egyptians to be the most important star (and is
always followed by Orion) - was “born” (as they called it) here, down by the horizon.

In Egypt the star Sirius can be seen in the sky most of the year - and at this exact time for which
the temple axis had been constructed - a special correspondence between the sun and Sirius was
understood; because, here exactly at the winter solstice Sirius can be seen above the horizon at
sunset.
Ancient Greek sculptor, Phidias, also painter and architect, ca. 480–430 BC, is regarded as being
among the greatest of all Classical sculptors. His famous work, the seated statue of Zeus, 12
metres tall, occupied the whole width of the aisle of the temple in Olympia built to house it, and
was one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world.
The gigantic, precious sculpture of ivory and gold-plated bronze was made in Phidias’ huge
building erected for that purpose at the site of the temple. The point is that the ruins of this
workshop still prove the old knowledge as the building was placed precisely parallel with the
line of sight used for the construction of the temple itself - in order to shape the statue for
receiving the cosmic light in the very best way exactly as it would appear in the temple.

Incidentally, additional significance may be attached to such a type of axis. If we look at

modern architects’ and surveyors’ measures of the ruins in Tell el-Amarna, the former capital,
Akhetaten, founded by Pharaoh Akhenaton, we will find that there is a similar line of sight
following the central axis of the temple and the town and further crossing the landscape and
out to some mountains, which are being passed by the sun at the terminal point of its diurnal
arc, of the day. In the wall of the mountain here, by the end of the line of axis, the royal tombs
have been cut out.
This construction seems to copy the principle of Senmut’s (subterranean) tomb placed in front
of the mountain at the end of the long line of sight, which in Luxor/Thebes has its point of
origin in the axis of the temple of Karnak. Furthermore, on the rear side of the latter mountain is
the shared tomb prepared for both Hatshepsut and Tuthmosis I, placed directly in the further
extension of this line.
37
Regarding the Senmut star map adorning the ceiling of his subterranean tomb's bigger room
which continues as a tunnel on its way beneath Hatshepsut's temple - in fact, the very star map
was planned to be in line with this tunnel of more than 100 metres. This line is following the
direction of the winter solstice axis connecting the mentioned Temple in Karnak with
Hatshepsut's temple several kilometres away.

Thus directed according to the winter solstice axis: Ale's Stones at Kåseberga ridge, about 10 km
east of Ystad in Scania, Sweden. Here are 59 giant stones set in ship’s shape, a total of 58 standing
and one lying stone. It is Sweden's largest ship’s shape, - a 2,700-year-old sky oriented calendar.
.

The Winter Solstice axis in all parts of the World

Everywhere in the old world the axis of winter solstice was of major importance. For example,
the very recognisable Ales Stenar, the ‘Nordic Stonehenge’, in Scania, Sweden. .
Along Maya temple pyramids in Mexico the Mayas played ritual ballgame choreographed with
the players performing as the planets around the sun and their cycles - and the playing ground
placed following the winter solstice line. .

British astronomer, Sir J. Norman Lockyer (1836-1920) - among other things famous for the
discovery of the sun's chromosphere and the element of helium (in the sun), and his foundation
of the famous scientific journal “Nature” - calculated the astronomical lines in ancient Egyptian
major temples. He discovered that they all followed such celestial lines of sight and that even
later temple buildings changing direction according to later changes in the stellar arrangement
in the sky.
He discovered in the temple inscriptions that the sacred Egyptian ritual, Stretching the Cord
ceremony, was the very description of creating sacred alignment with the celestial lines of sight,
especially the axis of the winter solstice, thus making the temple foundation and layout in
harmony with the cosmos.

Lockyer discovered that the early dynastic northern Egyptian sacred constructions, the
pyramids, were orientated cardinally to face equinoctial phases of the solar cycle. But in the
south of Egypt, the great temples such as Karnak, and Abydos, and even the Colossi of
Memnon, were all orientated to capture the sun’s rays on on every year’s two solstitial days.

Lockyer also measured Greek temples and got the same results - nobody before him had seen
and analysed this major coherence between astronomy and the temples through the ages.
And the same principle at Stonehenge, too, where Lockyer also dated its construction by again
using the fact, that the lines were adapted according to a previous angle of tilt of the axis of Earth.
Modern C-14 measuring confirms the dating results of that early time.

And especially the very Stonehenge's axis of winter solstice shows its major importance in the
whole arrangement of the construction.
38
American astronomer, Dr. Gerald S. Hawkins (cf. his book: “Stonehenge Decoded”, 1965) used
in 1961 an IBM 704 computer to show that there existed at Stonehenge a pattern of alignments
with 12 major lunar and solar events. He identified 165 astronomical key points in the
Stonehenge complex, many correlating with the rising and setting positions of the sun and
moon - and that the meticulously placed 56 Aubrey Holes could predict lunar eclipses.

In the year 2000 the world's hitherto oldest star observatory was found at the German town
Goseck, approx. 180 kilometres southeast of Berlin. The neolithic circular construction shows a
diameter of 75 metres, and by all methods it is dated to more than 7,000 years of age, i.e. older
than even Stonehenge. - Also, cf. Madhusree Mukerjee: "Circles for Space. German 'Stonehenge'
marks oldest observatory", Scientific American (8th December 2003).
This observatory has three gates - to the south-east, the south-west, and the north - precisely
placed according to the axis of winter solstice. Standing in the centre at the time of winter
solstice - and only then - the observers thus could see the sun raising and its setting.

In science it has been have been surprising to some traditional views that neolithic people
measured the celestial elements to such an extended exactness and so early in history. One of
the best designed astronomical winter solstice line construction is even older than the pyramids,
the more than 5,000 year old Newgrange in Ireland.

The Nazca Lines, the enormous geo-glyphs on a plateau in Peru and created more than 1,000
years ago, cover 300 square miles. They were explored during 60 years by Maria Reiche,
mathematician and astronomer (1903–1998): It is the world’s largest observatory and has
innumerable lines of sight for marking astronomical cycles, and risings and settings of the sun
(solar calendar, equinox, etc.), moon, and stars (e.g. Orion and Great Bear, Big Dipper).

The temples - and the beams of light from the Pleiades .

In all ancient Mediterranean civilizations the constellation known to us as the Pleiades had a
most important role. It served as a celestial marker or sign for one of the year's great events, i.e.
the springtime's arriving rain or flood. In fact, these stars were thought to be connected, in a
meta-astrological sense, with the concept "blessing".

The Pleiades were signalling and initiating "the wet season" and then they became emphasized
furthermore by other signals from a next following star group, the Hyades, in Greek 'to rain'.
Later in antiquity, Greek and Roman authors enjoyed to write about the especial popular stellar
group of the Pleiades, to which there already existed several mythological accounts.

For instance, the Pleiades group is depicted on the ancient Egyptian vizier Senmut's 3,500-years
39
old star map - i.e. these stars are placed on the map on the spot where the Pleiades are situated
in the sky. More so, on the map the specific picture have been attached some hieroglyphs
showing clearly to be read in the direction from the right to the left, displaying the name mw(jt)
nwt ht , i.e. 'the watery bodies', 'the humids', or '...of moisture'. - And, as very often in Egyptian
texts, it also may have an additional interpretation: 'three parts of Nut's body (in the sky)'.

The now much amired Senmut-star-map is adorning the ceiling of his tomb (Thebes Tomb 353,
at Deir el-Bahari, near Luxor) which like a tunnel is leading beneath Queen Hatshepsut's
Temple of Hathor, goddess of the sky. The Pleiades can be seen on Senmut’s star map but, so
far, not mentioned in the literature about this map, which in fact contains a large amount of
data never been discovered or explored.

However, a certain analysis of the map reveals such kind of information being of greatest
importance in connection with the history and chronology of Antiquity - the detection was
made by Ove von Spaeth. His discovery was first published in 1984 (in the ‘Stjernerne Journal’)
- and later added further scientific details when published as the treatise: "Dating Egypt's
Oldest Star Map", in "Centaurus Magazine of The History of Mathematics, Science, and
Technology" (Vol. 42:3, July 2000, pp. 159-179).

Some of the Egyptian temples have been constructed in a way connecting to the star of Sirius
when - each year in the summer after a period of invisibility of 70 days - Sirius rose together
with the sun (i.e. its Heliacal rising) that the light would travel down the temples' main corridor
and reach the innermost sanctum of the temple.
Here, Sirius would in that moment place its shining spot on the altar, and the beam from Sirius
was then considered as being transformed into Sothis (Sirius) as the star god Sobdet, i.e. Isis, the
greatest goddess.
This is also the case with the Egyptian temple of Isis in Denderah, a temple build as a copy of
more ancient temples. When the altar was hit by the beam, the Sirius star was thought to be On
the basis of the same understanding a similar principle was already involved in connection with
previously mentioned Hatshepsut's Temple of Hathor, which with its axis directed at the line of
winter solstice even also could receive the beams of the (in the mythology: seven) Stars of the
Pleiades. This was interpreted in a way that the light consisting of the seven beams were being
transformed into the Egyptian celestial goddess Hathor's seven female judges to judge
mankind.
In a similar way later in Greek temples - for instance in the very Parthenon - being constructed
with the direction to the beams of the Stars of the Pleiades. Thus, when the temples were
oriented geographically to receive these beams of light into the inner sanctums, the light-rays
were described in a symbolic way as being "transformed into seven women", i.e. "The Seven
Sisters", The Pleiades. as being "transformed into seven women", i.e. "The Seven Sisters", The
Pleiades.
There seems to be an addition to the relationship in "The Book of Job" - its narrative in the Bible
is mostly in archaic Hebrew, and with a 3,500 year old background. The oldest parts of the text
were written by Moses according to all the ancient traditions about the authorship.

A famous quote could possibly be a still retained impression of a loss of the seventh Pleiades,
which apparently did not remain fixed on the firmament - thus a feature regarding intervention
of divine powers, none could compare with: "... Canst thou bind together the brilliant Pleiades?
... " (Book of Job, 38:31). - It was an Egyptian feature to see stars as being associated with
"cords".

40
The Pyramid in the sky - and the World-axis

The esoteric traditions also present the concept of a pyramid in the sky. By examining the data
beneath the surface we can discover that this celestial pyramid’s baseline represents a big part
of the World-axis - i.e. that part of the axis that runs from Sirius and passes Great Bear.
At the beginning of the 1900’s, the theosophists had published texts on an old concept from
which "a pyramid in the sky" is mentioned (by Alice Bailey). The pyramid’s outline was based
in three main star groups: Sirius, the Pleiades, and the Great Bear (Big Dipper). Later, several
people tried to plot this pyramid on the star map but without effect or understanding.

The fact is that in recent times all maps - and our geographic thinking - are oriented to the
north, so the mentioned attempts reproduce the pyramid top in the northern constellation Ursa
Major. However, if the pyramid with the tip towards the east (Greek 'oriens', which formerly
often was the orientation direction) plotted on the map, it is then the always significant and
beneficial the Pleiades which fulfill the great pyramid’s in fact missing top.
Plot the pyramid’s so-called King's Chamber correctly on a "star-map reproduction" of the Great
Pyramid, then it will be discovered that this is the exact spot where the new planet Uranus was
found in 1782. And by plotting the special air shafts extending from the King's Chamber, and by
following the northern shaft’s extension line to where it crosses the ecliptic, then here is exactly
the point where the planet Neptune was found in 1846. A context on a quantum-physical level.

The pyramid’s base line - situated upon the World-axis - is here at exactly at its very midpoint
being split by the ecliptic (the "circular wall of Paradise"). Exactly on this spot the new planet
Pluto was found in 1930 - just here at the same place is located the star with the Arabic name
Wasat, a probable relic of ancient knowledge, since this name so incredibly means 'the middle'!
These types of space-spatial synchronicity and historical meta-interaction and parallelism I have
found though without a cause of the phenomenon but it's almost like a central concept in Carl
G. Jung's research into the universal interaction.

In ancient cultic knowledge it was included that the great Cheops pyramid was formed in the sky by
precise lines of sight to the Pleiades, the Great Bear and Sirius. Between the latter two runs the sky pyramid’s
base line. The map can only approximately represent the fact that also the sky pyramid's sides are equal.
41
Besides that the shafts of the great Cheops pyramid are directed towards significant stars like Sirius,
Orion and Thuban (illstr. below), these shafts also are included in an astonishingly precise geometry.

Star-knowledge - not esoteric teachings only

By the initiates a hidden knowledge was preserved. When Freemasons in 1600-1700-century in
Europe emigrated to freedom and brought ideas of the "rediscovered Atlantis-like" new world of
the Americas, they introduced the Masonic symbolism of Egyptian character.
For instance, also the Cheops Pyramid was at a time inserted into the U.S. national heraldy,
later to be seen on every 1-dollar bill in the world! Several of the first presidents, Washington,
Adams, Jefferson, etc. were Masons - and also leaders later in a number of countries in South
America - and they introduced the first national flag with stars on as part of the symbolism.

Star-knowledge - not just the esoteric nature - was once as important recognition knowledge of
the initiates, but is most often what is heard least about in contemporary presentations of our
history. And which eventually may also be known at least about.

Thus, the historically established that everywhere in both early and late cultures that clearly
exist compliance or compatible interaction between geography and cosmography, as well as
with the old world view of a cosmic harmony - all expressed through events, things and
phenomena, which in turn is reflected in multiple layers, in many old religious texts.
42
Together with the U.S. national heraldy the Cheops pyramid is placed showing its missing top. In this top is inserted
the ancient symbol, the "Eye of God" in a triangle. Engraved illustr. in the ornamentation on the U.S. 1-dollar bill.

The widespread doctrines regarding universal harmony - especially used in Egypt and Babylon,
and which is also recognized in the Bible - continued right into the future, also in connection
with several recent influential people such as Shakespeare, Nostradamus and Tycho Brahe.

Now it is getting interesting, because Jesus spoke in parables - to special understanding of the
initiated - and referred to themselves (Luke 20:12) as vineyard wall’s "missing cornerstone" by
some less capable builders had the wreck.

The vineyard wall is of course the “Paradise wall”, the zodiacal circle which encloses the garden
- i.e. Paradise symbolically seen as a special area in the starry sky - with the two trees (in one)
and many animals, namely constellations with animal names.
In connection with such a vineyard - i.e. the Paradise garden with the “vine rod” as an ancient
symbol of the Milky Way/World-axis - Jesus mentions “a hireling”. In the Middle East 'hireling,
laborer' was the Babylonian word hunga which was also used for the sector of the sky which
elsewhere is more commonly known as Aries: the ecliptic circle’s eastern zodiacal constellation.
It was the easternmost "sun gate" and often presented as the entrance to the garden.

Behind the reference to the vineyard’s main cornerstone there was a well-known symbol,
namely the missing top of the big Cheops Pyramid.
The pyramid is designated with the name of the ancient Egyptian king Cheops (Khufu), and this
pyramid with the missing, ‘hexagonal’ pyramid-top has also name as the northern constellation
with its 5 corners/angles, Cepheus. This name is from the same root as the name which Jesus
mentined as Kephas, ‘stone’, ‘rock’, (Greek petrus) on which he would found “his teachings”.

At the mystery cults there was little doubt: the small square platform more than 140 meters up
at the top of the great Cheops pyramid and also the pyramid’s interior seem to have been used
for cultic initiation process. It is being supposed that the initiates in some cases when placed
upon the platform and with the strong energy flow caused by the pyramid geometric form and
its huge stone masses (e.g., it can also affect a compass needle significantly) - the so-called third
eye could be opened there.
Could it be that it was an inner circle of Jesus’ group of supporters that he upon the "rock" –
with a knowledge from when the Egyptians used the pyramid platform - would found special
teachings for the initiated?

The inverted pyramid

An occult tradition, later also known in the Druze religion in Lebanon, holds a message about a
reverse and lowered pyramid and is difficult to detect as it is with the bottom surface facing
upside. It is located in Baalbek in Lebanon’s mountain plateau where the myth’s Gilgamesh and
also biblical King Solomon had cedars cut for “establishing” their inner development as well.
43
On the location in Lebanon we find the famous and incomprehensible constructed giant stone
terrace which forms the bottom of that reverse Baalbek-pyramid.
According to the version among the Druzes, from their takeover of ancient myths, Cain killed
his brother Abel by blocking the spiritual seeker Abel inside the downward pyramid which,
apparently like the great Egyptian pyramids, was also used as a site for cultic initiation.
Further, according to the occult tradition, the Baalbek-pyramid’s tip goes deep down the earth,
and the entire feature is to be seen as the "contrast" to the Cepheus Pyramid in Egypt.
Both places have established a city which, based on much older names with 'the sun', were later
in Greek called Heliopolis, ‘city of the sun’. In the Egyptian city, originally named On (known
from the Bible), many temples and holy places existed and here was the center of early alchemy
in the temple of Ptah, - in the ancient teachings the sun and the gold were always associated.
Fragments of the Cain and Abel motif may also be found here, as Cain, Hebrew for 'smith',
'coppersmith', in the Bible he is referred to as the ancestor of all blacksmiths and metal workers.
Later, in Heliopolis’ “equivalent” Lebanese city, the Romans built a Jupiter temple on top of the
stone terrace.Iin an unknown past more than 9,000 years ago, this was built with largest known
cut boulders on the Earth, some of them weighing up to 1,200 tons. Even with today’s most
advanced technology in the 21st century, these could not be produced and transported.
The pyramids at Giza (at Heliopolis in Egypt) and “the pyramid” at Baalbek (at Heliopolis in
Lebanon) have such mutual geographical positions that they form accurate diagonal corner
points in a square in a geographic grid, but being a square on the Earth's spherical surface, it is
precisely 4° high and 5° wide. It is so that the distance of the upper limit of the square consist of
5 more “narrow” degrees in width, as well-known that latitudes become more "narrow" when
measured further north, and just at this location, Baalbek, the mentioned distance is in units of
area similar to 4 longitudes. And inside this square is the aforementioned special diagonal
between Heliopolis in Egypt and Heliopolis in Lebanon.
The square’s other diagonal shows the direction of one of the main crack patterns between the
earthly land mass flakes, tectonic plates, which actually extends all the way from Switzerland
and down through the Red Sea via the Pacific to Australia. In the Mediterranean the break line
is flanked by these up- and down-turned pyramids. It may also be mentioned without known
details that some ideas may exist regarding a possible balancing influence on the tectonic plates.

Right: The magic field, which is narrowing with the latitudes, is ranging from the Cheops pyramid
in Giza (Heliopolis/Cairo) and diagonally up to the Baalbek terrace (above the b in Geb) in Lebanon.

44
"Wild" ideas form old traditions should not just be dismissed totally, - in some cases, perhaps
science sometime in the future will analyze the possible information originally contained. Such
belongs in that world of ideas where there even also in the sky can be found a "similar" inverted
pyramid oriented with its downward peak at the constellation Hydra’s head.

The aforementioned large upturned pyramid in the sky, formed by lines of sight from the
Pleiades to the Great Bear and Sirius has its important mentioned top angle of the Pleiades. The
name is from the Greek pleidion, 'manyfold', 'multiple', and 'rectangular edifice'. These stars are
named similar to Babylonian: zappu, a probable pun on sippu: 'cornerstone' or 'angular stone', cf.
supru, 'angle'. Both the Babylonians and their "predecessors", the Sumerians, were experts in
this kind of rebus meanings, it was simply normal routine for them when reading their glyphs
and also through their language’s extensive use of reversing the syllables.

Today's religions without the starry universe

Much of the literal form of biblical reading was not particularly prominent after the Protestant
Reformation in the 1500’s.
Several of the most important among the early Church Fathers and leaders in Christian history -
including Origen, Clement, Augustine, Jerome, and Thomas Aquinas - considered it a fact that
the literalist readings of particular Biblical narrative of the Creation was evidence that the
reader was uneducated!

In Egypt, Origen got much information from the learned Jews. From this knowledge he claims
that it just was not meant then the Bibles narrative on Noah's ark was to be understood literally:
"... Just fodder for the elephants through the many months in the ark would be a huge
problem ...".
In some interpretations the Noah's ark motif are regarding measuring relations of the ark and
conditions of: the Great Pyramid at Giza. It is not a royal tomb, but a mystery initiation facility
and therefore without a single mural or inscription that was otherwise present in royal tombs.
Up upon the ark there is an entrance, Hebrew tsohar is the Noah ark 'entrance/hatch/aperture'
or 'ridge' with a gable triangle: the ark looked like a triangular prism/pyramid shape.
Could it have been an image reflecting the missing top stone? The peak that was thought it
could be an entrance to the higher knowledge?

Robert Bauval, who more than anyone has studied the relationship between the ancient temple
complex and the stars, writes in his "The Egyptian Code" (London, 2006, pp. 253-255) that:
“… When dealing with ancient Egypt, you are dealing with a spiritual civilisation which
believed emphatically in eternity and in afterlife attained by an adherence to the cosmic order.
And it must be studied as such …”. - It is more than obvious that the temple priests in ancient
Egypt, especially those in Heliopolis, had incorporated observational astronomy in their
consecration system during training ...
…This is well attested in their many religious texts, such as the Pyramid Texts, and also in
the intense astronomical qualities of the monuments, which, after all, are but the symbolic
architectural expression of their beliefs. … Our present civilisation is in dire need of this ancient
wisdom . … The ancient Egyptians turned Egypt into a temple of the cosmos in which all
would live in Maat …” (the principle of the universe order). .

Past cultic inaugurated in principle was aware of gnosis based on the laws of the universe, ethics
and balances - including some understanding of the starry world and interaction in our
surrounding cosmos. To a greater understanding must - even though modern critics often
confuse it with certain so-called New Age considerations - let the religious texts and
architecture, as well as with the ancient Egyptians, just respond with astronomy.

AFTERWORD by Merete Gundersen
(1600EN#01)
Astrology of a new age
When man has reached the translucent sight on the spiritual plane, he will be able to
work with astrology in a whole new way. Man will then have access to the planets, moons,
stars and solar systems cities. People will be able to go on cosmic journeys into the universe
and pick up far more knowledge than we today are getting from the traditional astrology.
Today, when we look at planets, stars and so forth with traditional astrology eyes, all
this is seen and observed from below. With the new time astrological glasses all will now be
observed with a cosmic sight which is to say that astrology should be used from above and
out from the cosmos, so you now look down on Earth from above, both spiritually but also
seen with astronomy glasses. It will give a whole new mobility in the astrological level.
When mobility becomes an everyday thing via space travel astrology and astronomy will
flow together as two equal sciences. Astronomy will decipher what the human race can pick
up of knowledge and wisdom from the atomic processes that occur on different planets
and stars. What substances may we retrieve from the planets and stars, and what can we
do with them. It may be, for example, cures of various new types of viruses or new types of
diseases that have come and will come to mankind in the future.
Astrology and astronomy will be one science which works on the psychological and
medical aspects of human development. It requires that the astrologer steps forward and
dare growing mature and really work on development for the benefit of innovation and
future thinking. This will require that astrology dare step into the real world of science and
have its theories, techniques and ancient knowledge become part of modern science.
There are psychological aspects in the astrology which can be used to date the various
health imbalances in the human body, and there are several aspects that may point to
inadequate psychological patterns which are embedded in the signs, and this can therefore
be used much more preventive than one imagines it today. The greatest potential which is
not so much used in astrology is the esoteric astrology which can map how the individual's
spiritual development has been and will be from the past and in present and future.
If astrology’s people do not themselves want to be involved in developing what we
might call the astrology of a new age, it will become extinct in a few generations, and will
only be used as a "parlor game".
This will be a great pity, because astrology holds the answers to many cosmic secrets
that can be exploited if astrology dare and will step into the world of science. In the past,
astronomy and astrology fused together into a whole, and it is this which again must be
the goal of developing new aspects and new calculations of the astrological worldview.
Astrology’s calculations of stellar constellations could help to predict how people
will develop. If astrology scientifically begins to calculate and set calculations for light
refractions and the light’s emitted frequency against humanity, the astrology of a new
age would see the light of day.
These calculations will be breaking down the barrier placed between astronomy and
astrology, and they will bring the innovation that takes to get the next step further.
There should not be a barrier here, but there should - as a natural development -
emerge a scientific interaction between these two branches of wisdom. All for the
enjoyment and benefit of the development of humanity on planet Earth.
It is extremely important that such a merger will take place, as we before too many
years start space traveling to distant star constellations, and maybe we will come to
inhabit other planets and here the knowledge that we in a given case could acquire
through astrology will be to our benefit.

The astro-biological scientist Dirk Schulze-Makuch from The University of Texas at el
Paso has put forward the theory that there is water on the planet Venus and that fact in
this case could form the basis of life on the planet. At least one form of biological life is not
necessarily intelligent life. Dirk Schulze-Makuch’s theory is based on the discovery of water
in small quantities on the planet. The theory has been presented at the Second European
Workshop in Astrobiology in Graz, Austria. However, there are very high temperatures on
Venus, but here on Earth is known the existence of biological creatures that live in
extremely high temperatures in the water from underwater volcanoes, so if it anyway
should prove true that there could be some special form of life on Venus, we might not
long from now possibly land on the planet and occupy it.
During such development it is important that astrology has been into research and here
further on with the exploration of what it means when we experience the unique structure
found on and around Venus, and by this being able to map what this background signifies
from the perspective of astrology worldview.
If we imagine that there is a human development within the area of astrology in terms
of being able to read people's life course through the spiritual spectra of the human brain,
which in turn is in some relation to the stellar constellations, the astrology must necessarily
in many ways take part in modern research so that we can bring enlightenment within the
fields, we all know works. Therefore, the future will bring much new to both astronomy and
astrology if these again merge as united research, or at least as equivalent research units to
illuminate the evolution of the universe and of mankind.
If the astrologer will join the ranks of research and that will be included as a subject of
research at the universities, much new will show in the future, and the NEW TIME Astrology
will see the light of day.

On a spiritual journey in the groundbreaking books
I view the book - Ove von Spaeth's "The Secret Religion" - as a spiritual journey which
may not be comparable to St. Paul's journey, but it feels just like that because the author
manages to take us out on just a spiritual journey in these groundbreaking books.
The book is a monumental and ultimate work about Moses. It is not for quick reading,
but can usefully be read many times and can be used for actual study. There is something in
every sentence. Not something stuffed or small talk - but giving more than value for money.
The book's advance publicity of the series' final volume promises that also the next time
there will be some of the fascinating star-related substance. You can read more about these
important books on their own website: www.moses-egypt.net.

The Starry Road
As an interested reader I enjoy encountering a host of immersive topics in "The Secret
Religion". I have had the great pleasure that this book - which is far more extensive than
I imagined - shows the old religious cultures’ strong preoccupation with the starry world.
This exciting topic, we can follow here as a red thread back through the early history
of the world. In addition, when the book also mentions the famous pilgrimage route in
northern Spain especially for his relation to the stars, the question arises: Can we then
infer further on this basis - or is this phenomenon after all of a less wide-spread feature?

St. Paul's voyage to Rome
(OvS's response to Stogafo’s comment, above)
The 1,200-year-old pilgrimage route in Spain has always had clear allusions to the ideas
of "stair-way to the stars". The route is still described with the star-connected name Via
Lacta, the 'Milky Way'. And it is mentioned, as stated in my fourth book of Moses series,
"The Secret Religion", in the chapter 22. - In that chapter, the main theme is St. Paul's
voyage to Rome, which simultaneously seems to follow symbolically a particular celestial
pattern formed by lines of sight between selected stars.
In ancient times it was a well-known concept through millennia that the Milky Way was
a cosmological highway to the goddess Isis being in this context expressed as the star Sirius.

Thorough investigation
As usual for Ove von Spaeth there is no random choice of publishing material but
he supports the subjects by thorough investigation and presenting them also n a very fine
educational way. I find the text being extremely good, and I cannot help but take them
up and read them again - it's so exciting.
The topics are so incredibly fascinating. Here is news for everyone and not just for
those who like myself are particularly concerned about archeology and history.
The contents is read with great interest and, furthermore, with a great pleasure in
terms of presentation and language. Whether a single reader may already possess a bit
54
of knowledge on some issue in advance, it will be supplemented here - and even by a
very exciting combination. A treasure trove of knowledge.

Pilgrimage on the Starry Road
Regarding the Camino Santiago Compostella route, I have now walked the whole
distance and had very special experiences there. Had read on the Internet that there was
written about it in the Moses-series’ volume fourth.
So, I would very much like to see a deeper understanding of the descriptions about the
Starry Road - which I will call the Energy Road. I knew that I had read somewhere that the
Camino was also called the Starry Road and I found on Google that it was You who wrote
about it. - Became so excited about the amazing works You have written that I had to send
you a greeting and questions about your observations.
Already last year I had a very clear experience that I went on a road which presents the
chakras. It was some very violent and awareness rewarding experiences, which led to that I
had to walk the road from the start. And it was this year in July. The beginning in the
Pyrenees was definitely as the Root chakra and at Pamplona to change to the Sacral center,
and then again the last 50 km before Leon to go to the Solar plexus. It was clear that Leon
was the Solar plexus, and at Sierra to go to the Heart center and to Crown Center at
Santiago. - On the way, I was also a little shocked by how that part of the world - Northern
Spain - is packed with superstition. Among other things, in a small town called Molinaseca
in the region of Galicia, where people in the area believe in witches, and here they had
ceremonies for expelling of witches.
It has been hard to find where to buy more of your books. Can you tell me where? But I
have instead been given access to all your books while they are to be found in the Masonic
Lodge’s Central Library in Copenhagen. What a gift for me. In a bookstore I have signed up
for your books till when they get hold of some. I would like to own the books. Book nr. 4 is
fantastic and instructive. - For now, I am in the process of reading your great book - and
I read on page 202 where you write about Isaac's son Jacob, who is on the field and look at
the sky ladder. Sincerely,

The Starry Road and spiritual pilgrimage - and alchemy process

(OvS's response to Hiordis Reher’s comment, above)
Antiquity and older cultures, including e.g. in South America, present many deep views
of the factual interaction between the universe and the earthly conditions, such as it once
was stronger perceived in connection with the old Spanish pilgrim route.
A mirror image of this principle can be seen documented by Father of Church, St.
Augustine, who in 415 AD in his book "De Civitate Dei" (vol. 8:23) quoted the ancient
Egyptian sage Hermes Trismegistos, 'The triple major Thoth', with these words:
"... Egypt is a picture of the sky ... transferred from the sky down to Egypt ...".
- And in Matthew 6:10, "... as in heaven so on earth ...".
- Or by Tycho Brahe, researching in astronomy/astrology - and at the same time in
alchemy which subject he thus called "the earthly astronomy". His motto was: ‘By looking
down I see upward’, and Suspiciendo despicio ‘By looking up I see downward’.
Also ancient wisdom that micro-cosmos is reflected in macro-cosmos, and was known
in many places in the old world, - and, for example, in this context the human body's spine
55
was seen as the 'life-sustaining' Milky Way. To follow such a path can in principle be similar
stages in an alchemy process.
Over time, could there perhaps through the particular practice have been created some
'features' in the pilgrim route, or did people perhaps chose a particular route because an
earth radiation could be felt? Scientific measurements have eventually uncovered quite a
few traditional sacred places where the earth has a radiation with a particular frequency -
electromagnetic and otherwise. Vibrations, which can be measurably significant to the
biological life.
It is a fact that many ancient shrine places - often were established where there was
built churches later - were just places with these qualities. There are hypotheses about
the locations where the many people with religious purpose assembled could amplify the
mentioned energies. For many centuries there may be accumulated so much that sensitive
people can trace a real energy track. It is also a fact that the pilgrim route offers to many
people an ideal situation for these additional influences which can cause a mental and
spiritual 'kick' allowing for insight and experience on a higher level. Everything inside the
person himself. - The "energy-track" - perhaps originally established or appointed from
specific ideas about the influence of an earthly reflection of "inter-stellar energy relations"
in space - as a consequence to the larger context in the entire universe. So instead of that
skeptics reject it as "New Age mumbo-jumbo" there should, of course!, be carried out
scientific research - since the necessary sophisticated measuring equipment already exists!
Superstitions which you mention in northern Spain, I have seen something of it when I
for a long time lived far out in the countryside of southern Spain. Previously, Pablo Picasso
came from exactly the same province and brought with him parts of such cultural traits to
France where he lived for the rest of his life. For example, when he got his nails cut or his
hair, he removed always the cuttings and buried them at a hidden place in nature. Nobody
should be able to bewitch him using his cut hair.
Regarding the eventually sold-out books from my book-series on the historical Moses,
it is fortunate that the libraries in most of the country's Freemason Lodges and also by
the Theosophists many places possess often several sets of the entire book-series.

Pilgrimage on the ‘Starry Road’ to Santiago de Compostella

It is popular to go on pilgrimage, and to many people the trip is a great experience,
leading to deeper self-awareness and inner peace. But how many know the old history
behind today's spiritual pilgrimages - for example, the connection between the tracks and
the starry sky? - On the VisdomsNettet.dk author Ove von Spaeth uncovers this exciting
mystery - in his text, "The Starry Road and Spiritual Pilgrimage".
He says among other things that once in the 800-century AD the church proclaimed
that a tomb, which was believed to contain the scull of the apostle James to have been
found somewhere in the Northern Spain. - According to tradition the skull as a relic is
moved to here where he, also according to tradition, had been on a missionary.
This, in fact, 'double layer' route in Spain leading to a special holy place has strong
parallels to Paul's last journey that symbolically seems to follow a celestial pattern of
selected lines of sight between the stars and loaded with particular significance: a system
known in the old religious cultures’ overwhelming preoccupation with the starry world.
Parts of the text on such a star line is from Ove von Spaeth's book "The Secret Religion",
which is Volume 4 in his book-series "Assassinating Moses".

Summary - via some quotations by Ove von Spaeth, from the book

The Starry Road and Spiritual Pilgrimage (1600DA)

” The 1200-year-old pilgrimage route in Spain next to Santiago's famous relic has always
contained clear allusions to ideas of "stairway to the stars". The route is still described with the
star-connected name Via Lacta, the 'Milky Way'. The ancient ideas behind it can be observed
in other similar narratives and they form a red thread through the old history of the world. ”
(1601EN) .....

” As with many ancient texts also the biblical text of the Apostle "Paul's last voyage" appears
to accommodate multiple layers. In this case, also a mentally visualized sky map. The built-in
precise references to stars and other astronomical features were on a spiritual level to be
understood as a special overview map of an inner journey in the mind. ”
(1602EN) .....

” The Spanish pilgrimage route, El camino de Santiago de Compostella, 'St. James road at the
stellar field', was called the Milky Way. After Bishop Theodomir established the road in the year
835 AD the route/road has truly led pilgrims to a relic known as the Apostle "Jacob's skull" in the
Cathedral of Santiago. Then they put a seashell on their hats, the sign of having completed. ”
(1603EN) .....

” The pilgrimage’s star concept was also practiced in England under 'reverse' condition where
it was now the Milky Way which was called the Way of Saint James (Jacob). For more than 900
years the English pilgrim route led from the south of England up to the Virgin Mary Chapel in
Walsingham (Walsyngham) in Norfolk approx. 150 km north of London. The place, also called
Little Nazareth (associating to "Mary’s dwelling, Jesus's childhood home") was considered
containing ‘healing powers'. ”
(1604EN) .....

” As with the perception of the constellations in the sky in ancient times, the early Egyptian
astronomy knowledge hold much mythology with an underlying logic and insight. Later,
similar trend is found in Greek star myths. Astronomy’s scientific art combined with advanced
geometry were included in the architecture of the pyramids and temples. With all ancient
priest-astronomers the study of the starry world was a sacred science. “
(1605EN) .....

” Similar conditions as with Jules Verne's moon positions in his book, "Journey to the Moon"
(1865), are present by author J.R.R. Tolkien. He let the Moon’s position on each given day in his
world famous trilogy, "The Lord of the Rings", correspond to its position in the sky these days
in 1954-1955 when he wrote that trilogy. - But especially the Irish writer James Joyce's book,
"Ulysses" ('Ulysses'), from 1922, is with intent designed several places according to the principle
could be observed in St. Paul's narrative, but now at Joyce it is with Homer as the key. James
Joyce's work is filled with professional astronomy as well as hidden astrological mythology. ”
(1606EN) .....

” Significant sky distances were in ancient times also perceived as visually connecting lines
between the stars and was, from early on, understood as elements in a geometric design
that forms many parts of the universe. Star Lines brought perspective to the structure of the
cosmos - and a sky geometric knowledge from the ancient mystery cults branched out with
a cosmological epistemology and religion-psychological archetypes. ”

The treatise on dating of Senmut star map has been prepared so that it can be analyzed

from the humanities, e.g. Egyptologists and historians. This could not be solved without
both directions in interaction. Astronomers gave statements, now one by the humanities:

Discovering the star map research - 9 October 2011 - Review :
A closely-reasoned scientific article - this thoughtful and reflective leap
brings new light on Senmut's star map.
Dating the Oldest Egyptian Star Map
In this treatise, 'Dating the Oldest Egyptian Star Map', Ove von Spaeth developed the
implications and significance of a configuration of planets and stars represented on the
most ancient Egyptian star-map - the 'Senmut Star Map' - from the reign of Queen Hatshepsut
(ca. 1500 BC) during the 18th Egyptian dynasty. By drawing upon the resources of modern
astronomy and mathematics, von Spaeth computed and verified the presence of distinctive
planetary conjunctions represented on the Senmut map as a factual occurrence in the skies.
By doing so, he was able to indicate a more exact dating of its time and period in Egyptian
history and of the reign of Queen Hatshepsut. His approach - a combination of modern
astronomy, statistics of rare planetary conjunctions, mathematics, archaeological materials,
and Egyptology - allowed for a fuller understanding of Egyptian history dating and shed light
on the place of ancient astronomy in its cultural contexts.
On detail and perspectives
In all: a closely-reasoned scientific article that explores the implications and significance
of an unusual configuration of planets and stars represented on an ancient Egyptian star map -
the Senmut Star Map established 3,500 years ago - the world's oldest star map.
Earlier scholarship on the Senmut star map by Egyptologists focused mainly on identifying
the planets and stars depicted on the map and analyzing its principal features but the
significance of the actual configuration of these stars and planets remained unrecognized.
By drawing upon the resources of modern astronomy, the author, Ove von Spaeth, has
here been able to compute and verify the presence of the distinctive planetary conjunctions
represented on the Senmut map as a rare and factual occurrence in the skies and so also
to indicate a more exact dating of its time and period in Egyptian history.
His approach - a combination of modern astronomical and mathematical evidence
with archaeological materials and Egyptology - allows for a fuller understanding of the
development of astronomy in ancient Egypt and to provide important chronological
evidence about the reign of Queen Hatshepsut.
As well, it reveals that ancient Egyptians were not concerned merely to represent astro-
mythological features in star maps as aspects of their cosmology but to mirror concrete and
specific events in the sky as and when they occurred. Such usage of star maps in ancient
Egypt, interpreted as here with support from modern astronomical computational methods,
opens up areas of research and investigation that have remained largely unexplored for lack
of interdisciplinary approaches and perspectives derived from critical relations between
modern science, archaeology, and Egyptology.
Ove von Spaeth's treatise takes a thoughtful and reflective leap in this direction and
brings startling new light upon the skies of the Senmut star map.

BBC - Guide ID: A73516197 - Edited Guide Entry - Ancient Egypt Calendar - Created: 25th
October 2010: The Calendar and Astronomy of Ancient Egypt - Stars and Moon Calendar
Representations of the earliest calendars in history have been found on tomb ceilings
and sarcophagus lids from the 9th Dynasty onwards. Some of the surviving artwork inside
the tombs of the most important (or wealthy) Egyptians consists of stars and celestial
figures we'd recognise as constellations. - The Egyptian astronomers (usually priests)
divided the year into 12 months within three seasons:
• Akhet (Inundation: flooding of the Nile by which all life in Egypt depended) I, II, III and IV
• Peret (Emergence of the Land) I, II, III and IV
• Shemu (Harvest) I, II, III and IV
Each of the 12 months had a name, for example Akhet III was called Hwt-Hrw, Peret IV
was Renwett and Shomu II was Hnt-htj. The months were divided into 'decans', a decan
being a ten-day week. The 36 decans were heralded by the rise of a particular star, e.g.
Akhet I was announced by the heliacal rising of Sopdet - 'the star of Isis' (known as Sirius).
Decan stars adorn the ceiling of the temple dedicated to the goddess Hathor at Denderah.
The total year of 360 days did not match the solar year, so to balance their calendar
they spent five days - known as epagomenals - in celebration of five important gods: Osiris,
Horus, Seth, Isis and Nephthys. As they had no leap year equivalent, every four years their
calendar fell out of sync with the rising of the stars, so they attempted to make everything
fit by creating a lunar (moon) calendar as well.
The astronomer priests observed a calendar of lunar phases in order to calculate when
certain rituals needed to be performed, and that particular process was presided over by
Khonsu the lunar god. The lunar calendar was represented by 12 large circles (one
complete moon cycle or 'synodic month') each of which was divided into segments. The
lunar month has 29.5 days, which meant that some years were short when there were 12
new moons,
or long when there were 13. The lunar calendar was used for religious festivals only, for
administrative purposes the 360+5 day calendar was used. - Referenced Sites:

Ancient Egyptian mystery cults and early Hebrew spiritual traditions
Book: The Secret Religion.Moses and the Egyptian Heritage in the Past and Present.
(2004).
The fourth book in Ove von Spaeth’s Moses-series deals with relations between
ancient Egyptian mystery cults and early Hebrew spiritual traditions, especially those
developed in the years following the Exodus. According to the author’s analysis of material
sources, these Egyptian cults were concerned, among other things, with cosmology and
in developing knowledge about stars.
Even more significant to Hebrew contexts, these cults were concerned with esoteric
aspects of a unified divinity. Such knowledge comprised a deeper and hidden dimension
of more externalized forms of spirituality and could be discerned only through initiatory
ritual practices. The Bible is recognized as inscribing layers of such ‘coded’ mystery-
knowledge dealing with cosmology and stars which bears significant relations to ancient
Egyptian wisdom traditions.
Finally, the book develops a more complex picture of Egyptian mystery cults and
groups recognizing these as also having been politically active and as intervening in
specific historical events of the ancient world with far-reaching cultural consequences
for the western world.

Copenhagen, 1968.
In 1968, Ove von Spaeth edited and wrote a critical introduction and compendium to the
Danish yogi, Gunnar Raman's scholarly edition of "Patanjali's Yoga Sutras". This book was the
first Danish translation with critical notes and commentary of the 'Yoga Sutras'.
It included Raman's review of classical commentaries on this ancient text as well as
explanations of yoga terminology.
Von Spaeth also designed the book lay-out and cover which went on to become
an iconic symbol of Indian spiritual influences in the alternative cultural mileux of the 1960's
and '70's in Denmark. (G. Raman: Pantanjali's Yoga Sutras, Strubes Publishers, Copenhagen,

OVERVIEW - the author and his works (1600EN#14)
Ove von Spaeth is a scholar, historian, writer and researcher; also an artist and graphic
designer. He was born and lives in Copenhagen, Denmark. In the 1970’s, Ove von Spaeth
began studying ancient history and religions and ancient astronomy. And in the 1980’s, a
study in depths of the world’s oldest star-map from Egypt - the ‘Senmut star-map’ - he
published in 1984 the first investigations, and in 1999-2000 he published some ground-
breaking results in Centaurus, the international history of science journal, vol.42.
The author’s treatise reveals that ancient Egyptians were not concerned merely to
represent astro-mythological features in star maps as aspects of their cosmology but also
to mirror specific events in the sky as and when they occurred. Supported by modern
astronomical computational methods, it opens up areas that have remained unexplored.
From the start this venture led him also to further studies on ancient Egypt resulting
in 1999-2005 in his five books on the historical Moses and the Egyptian background. The
books and the historical material develop the Egyptian context of Moses in greater detail
and outlines and deals with existing literary and extra-textual sources on the life of Moses,
the role of this biblical prophet as a military and religious leader, philosopher, pioneer,
and formulator of a code of law.
Von Spaeth's method also consists of bringing together ancient Hebrew texts, such as
ancient Rabbinical Writings and Egyptian inscriptions and manuscripts for comparing the
accounts for cross-references with regard to specific events in Egyptian history. From this
as well from the astronomical records, the author suggests that these sources (including
Josephus and Manetho) complement each other in supporting the view that Moses was
an exiled prince, while mostly official records of his existence were systematically erased.

Star cults and the World-axis

By OVE VON SPAETH e-book-1500EN | ISBN 978-87-89171-46-3
The World-axis and cosmology: In the ancient cultic societies a particular concept
in the context of religion and star knowledge emerges time and again - the World-
axis, the World Tree, or World pillar - known by the Babylonians, Philistines, Indians,
Chinese, and Celtic, Norse, Germanic and Samic - people.
Hitherto, historians have not really discovered or studied the old ideas about the
World-axis and the importance of its context in history.

The starry road and spiritual pilgrimage

By OVE VON SPAETH e-book-1600EN | ISBN 978-87-89171-12-8
The 1,200 year old pilgrimage route in Spain to Santiago's famous relic of St. James
has always had clear connections to the ideas of "stairway to the stars" in the
religious traditions, even with pre-Christian origin influenced by star cult.
The ancient route is still referred to with the star-connected designation Via lacta,
the 'Milky Way'. A similar route existed in England. The most interesting star route
is St. Paul's route on his dramatic voyage to Rome.

The Stars, Yoga Sutras and the Initiated

By OVE VON SPAETH e-book-1700EN | ISBN 978-87-89171-28-9
A particular text section in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras (Book III, Sutras 25-31)
conveys knowledge about the stars and their cosmic-spatial placement and
arrangement in the sky. It is related to deeper states of coherence during meditation.
This could also be seen in relation to the body as a micro-cosmic building
structure. It includes an association of the heart with sun and the macro-cosmic
space, and a relationship of the spine to the World-axis in the sky.

Star Tradition from a Mysterious Past

By OVE VON SPAETH e-book-2300EN | ISBN 978-87-89171-31-9
Even today it is possible to find many clear traces of a very early knowledge of
the stars. The traces can now be presented with contexts which were not possible to
show previously.
It seems that there was once a prevailing world-wide astro-mythological
knowledge which was based on several common ideas in a cosmological system.
This was often infused with religious significance.

Star Knowledge from Ancient Egypt

By OVE VON SPAETH e-book-1300EN | ISBN 978-87-89171-09-8
Religious ideas about the stars were infused with astronomy in Babylonia, but how
far-reaching or integral were the original understandings of the starry skies in Egypt's
3,500 year-old culture? Scholars have doubted whether the ancient Egyptians were
able to predict eclipses.
In all early civilizations, eclipses were considered important. We discover that
Egypt's astronomical knowledge is far more integral than expected.

A Source of Wealth - Extended Admission

The presented subjects are exponents of Ove von Spaeth's books and articles which open up -
and are continuously documenting - essential aspects of our heritage and its adhering spiritual
resource. Here are many valuable sources of information hitherto underexposed but are
absolutely indispensable for our historical insight and the yields from the values.
In the modern society under rapid change it is of vital importance that connections with
the ancient cultures are maintained and appreciated, and that perception is expanded, so both
today and in future we can use and further develop the surviving heritage of knowledge. The
Bible, the worldwide basis of many religions and philosophical lines, is in the new millennium
subject to increasing debate. Often the historical-biblical events are dismissed as myths.
Behind this, however, knowledge exists based on a rich culture of the past, which should
not be neglected or lost: an immediate risk because much of the ancient information preserved
till present times has often been confused with myths. In order to present yet more new know-
ledge from the many diversified fields the author has carried out his special project.

About Advanced Ancient Knowledge, Onward to New Knowledge

By Ove von Spaeth's presentation of valuable, often neglected materials, not least on ancient
Egypt and the historical Moses - often left behind by conventional research - the material now
became a challenging factor by its very existence. Profusion of the material results in a critical
mass with the effect of comprising, strong confrontation against common, habitually based
theories. It resulted in an open clinch with ruling ideas in these fields, e.g. by the theologians.
According to the author, the "two cultures" of the present - i.e. the spiritual and the
physical sciences - after their separation introduced during the Age of Enlightenment as a
necessity for the later modern development - now have to get into interaction again and into
redefinition on the basis of the new knowledge of human beings.

“… the author is also able to prove a very close connection between the ancient Egyptian
perception of the world and a modern perceived realistic initiation psychology, this breathing new
life and meaning into the gradually sectarian, petrified Christianity. In fact, via Ove von Spaeth
the Moses of 3,500 years ago becomes a life-giving source for modern people …”
- Jurij Moskvitin, philosopher, writer, compositor, mathematician.

Also Important in History of Ideas

The author’s work is not only spurred on by a huge knowledge, but also by an inspiring
enthusiasm and culture-historical horizon with far-reaching perspectives - and the works
are also mentioned as being important in relation to decisive concepts and traditions within
common religion phenomenology and the very history of science and learning. Many of
these subjects in the cultural history he disseminates also through meticulously worked
out e-books.

Ancient and present wisdom on man and universe in interaction
During the oldest ages, cosmology with time and space and the starry world was a part
of the religion, and stellar observatories were also sacred cult places. The sun with power
and heat as the basis for life's blooming, and the Moon with its changing phases and with
the impact on water supply and likewise a basis for biological life - both were the subjects
of worship. And the great philosophers, from Plato to Kant and Einstein, were always
interested in the starry universe and the entire cosmos.
Astronomy is known with much right as 'the mother of sciences'. And not least, astronomical
studies carried out in Antiquity’s great cultural nations contributed much in this field. Up
to the Renaissance, an almost unbroken tradition had been in existence. On the whole the
topics about celestial science and knowledge of the stars were together included in the world
picture from far back in ancient times. But several thousand years later the new science
and ideas in the Renaissance gradually extended the understanding. However, almost
simultaneously it also scattered the unified whole picture into a vigorous polarization, i.e.
in a physical world and a spiritual world - with still more weight put on the first item.
However, a world as being only a physical and bio-mechanical “machine” would necessarily
have to appear with a much too narrow picture of reality and explanation potential. A
major part of the ancient knowledge, not least about a special comprehension from the
star observations as a hereditary knowledge from Antiquity, became less understandable
on that new background and sometimes rather worthless - and easier forgotten.

Experience and knowledge arisen from studies of the firmament have been an extremely
important contribution to most of the spiritual knowledge of most the oldest cultures in
religious and secular fields from cosmology to advanced mathematics. From the ancient
Egyptians, Babylonians, and Greeks this legacy became our basis. If the overall continuity
erodes, the broadness of our idea of life and world will be limited. However, extensively
future science will be able to correct this and renew this important dimension.
Insight in the ancient knowledge is essential in order to understand many things in our
cultural heritage in the Western world. Ove von Spaeth has brought to light many of the
old data of the ancient astro-spiritual perceptions. He presents them in their larger context
in a series of works and e-books that can contribute to the renewal this important topic.
Among his works on the ancient star knowledge and history, the following are available:
• Nostradamus - the New Millennium and the Basilisk
• Regents, Admirals and the Royal Astrologers
• Tycho Brahe and the basilisk in alchemy and stars

From ancient wisdom and the cosmology

Cultic knowledge from ancient mystery teachings and cosmo-spiritual insight

Exclusive, cultic knowledge from a mystical and cosmological superstructure of Moses'
religion is still evident in the Bible - and with connections that it has not been possible to
demonstrate till now. Down through the ages an initiated elite upheld these secrets, partly
Egyptian, teachings that had been passed on by Moses to the Israelites.
From back in Antiquity the Bible also appears to have served as a 'mystery text', and a special
language was developed 'within' the lines of the biblical texts. This has later been forgotten -
but did anyone else besides the old priests know how to read the concealed language, the
basic Bible codes?.
Ove von Spaeth's book: “The Secret Religion. - Moses and the Egyptian Heritage in the Past
and Present”: the book makes it clear how Moses is the first known founder of a religion
- and his teachings have inspired several world religions. Ancient sources reveal that his
religion originally included also the 'mystery gold' from Egypt and the secret of God's name.

"The Secret Religion" also illuminates religion's lost dimension: on the idea of reincarnation.
This teaching was known with the early Christians but later banned by the Church in a
coup. In later centuries, the Bible was at the top of the Church's blacklist. Previously, the
hidden teachings had reappeared among Egyptian Gnostics and in the cults of Antiquity,
and subsequently in the Hermetic books which later contributed to the Renaissance. The
special doctrines were known not least from the regained Egyptian-Greek work “Corpus
Hermeticum” containing Egyptian wisdom - and ideas of reincarnation, and the Hermetic
holistic concept, - now also for use in the new worldview.

From the ancient Egyptian world connection points with the Old Testament universe - and in
a continued stretch further through ancient, medieval and in particular the Renaissance up to
our time - the reader is experiencing a fascinating and captivating journey through the book's
unique themes. From a new angle the book reveals important traces of an early spiritual
culture. Recognizable features are still in existence today in everyday language, customs and
laws. A continuously vibrant heritage which also delivers a more unusual material that in
itself challenges later tradition.
"... This is a recommendation, a recommendation of an unusual piece of work, and the adjective
'unusual' should be taken in the most positive sense of the word imaginable. - This is an essential book
about Moses, truly a revolutionary work. - A stringent, disciplined work - and it reads like an exciting
novel; an epoch-making interpretation! ..."
- Jes P. Asmussen, Ph.D. in Theology et h.c., Professor, The Carsten Niebuhr Institute for Near East
Studies, University of Copenhagen.
(the book’s appendix on discussions of sources:) "... I read the presentation with great interest. It is
logically and soundly structured and has many things to tell along the way - my compliments for that.” -
Bent Melchior, former Chief Rabbi of Denmark, and Rabbi for the Jewish Community, Copenhagen.

The author’s project for history research, and his books
New Research - the historical Moses, Egyptian cults, and pharaoh's astronomy
The works are published to disseminate and preserve discoveries and achievements from
our cultural past and providing new orientation from the author’s meticulous investigation
of the historical Moses’ significant Egyptian background. These books open up to a unique
knowledge treasure and wisdom from the Greeks, mighty Rome, and the Renaissance - and the
original source of ancient Egypt - and also seen in perspective in the light of modern science.
An influential and versatile personality, the first prophet in the Bible - the historical
Moses, is presented by a full-scale investigation through this work written by and history
researcher Ove von Spaeth who has studied the still significant clues and surprising many
survived keys. According to scientific reviews: this thoroughly documented discovery
series will convincingly be appreciated and debated by a broad, international audience
which also covers non-professionals as well.
The historical Moses is revealed from new and surprising angles. The riddle of Moses
is re-evaluated: his fate and mystery is for the first time brought to light in its full dramatic
course and the discoveries show Moses and his real status and time. The work gives insight
into ancient Egyptian mystery cults and initiation rituals and the connection with the tracks
of Egypt's spiritual influence on architecture and visual art and design.
The new discoveries and surprising results from this particular research - so relevant
to our own time. Cf. information: www.moses-egypt.net

. Ove von Spaeth: The Suppressed Record

Moses' Unknown Egyptian Background. - Assassinating Moses, vol. 1 .
Rediscovered accounts in the very ancient Rabbinical Writings and in Egyptian sources
reveal that the Bible's greatest prophet was born as a prospective heir to the Egyptian throne.
However, enemies at court and in the priesthood obstructed his chances of becoming a pharaoh.
Critical material from an array of ancient and modern sources regarding the historical Moses
is gathered and presented here in completeness for the first time. The data reveals surprising
facts including a royal plot and attack on Moses in Egypt. His life and position appear to be
quite different from prevailing perspectives.
The numerous findings confirm the Egyptian base of the Bible's greatest prophet. Everyone
knows about the story of Moses found by Pharaoh's daughter in the reeds by the Nile, but was
he just a myth? or did modern biblical research commit 'murder on history'?
But the episode with a baby in a reed basket boat was known everywhere in Antiquity as
a well-defined ritual practiced for royal heirs. Via astronomical dating which can be verified
objectively by modern scientific astronomy, knowledge of Moses' era and status is restored; the
book's thorough documentation makes possible the solving of many biblical enigmas.
"... This work probably renders the most original, and in various ways most well-documented
presentation of an answer to the Moses enigma within modern research. A grand synthesis ...One
feels more than intellectually enlightened and enriched as a human being ...".
- Jens-André P. Herbener, M.A. in Comparative Religion and Semitic Philology; Project Leader, at the
Royal National Library, of the New Scholarly Translation into Danish of the Hebrew Bible (OldTestament)
"... With nothing less than formidable control of historical developments and interaction within the
Mediterranean region and the Near East. - Profoundly fascinating ...".
- Steen Voigt, Science Editor, - Berlingske Tidende (Daily)

Ove von Spaeth: The Enigmatic Son of Pharaoh's Daughter
Moses' Identity and Mystery Re-evaluated. - Assassinating Moses, vol. 2 .
New reality underlying the myths about Moses who was originally an Egyptian pharaoh prince
expelled as a claimant to the throne and whose mysterious disappearance led to the ruin of his
reputation. Historians have questioned how Moses could have left the Land of the Pharaohs
without a trace. However, dramatic finds involve new, substantial evidence that can verify the
presence of Moses in Egypt 3,500 years ago. - New information, decoded by modern astronomical
methods used on the world’s oldest star map (found in 1927 in secret Egyptian burial facilities),
presents accurate dating contributing to significant material on Moses’ existence in ancient Egypt.
The book is the first to explore and develop the genuine Egyptian context with regard to Moses.
Data from archaeology, Egyptian astronomical records, and ancient inscriptions as well as the
Rabbinical Talmud texts show why the traditional concepts of Moses' identity and fate need to
be critically revised. The sources strongly indicate that Moses was a high-ranking leader among
the Egyptian elite - and offers a master key to uncover a large-scale political intrigue at Pharaoh's
court which led to Moses' exile. The "silent years" of Moses' life can now be revealed and heard.
"... The results of modern research all the way up to the present have been applied and discussed to
an astonishing extent. - Well-articulated, thought-provoking - it has the potential to change our present
view of the historical sequence of events in the Near East in the second millennium BC ..."
- Leo Hjortsoe, University Lecturer in Classical Philology, - the University of Copenhagen.
"... Ove von Spaeth appears to be one of our boldest scientists. - He takes a distinctive approach as a
historian - he fills the imagination of his readers with his discoveries about Moses ...(and) has prepared
a brilliant, logical solution or true stroke of genius ..."
- F.J. Billeskov Jansen, Ph.D., Professor, the University of Copenhagen.
"... Without any knowledge of astronomy I am nevertheless convinced that from Egyptology’s point of
view the paper by Mr. Ove von Spaeth contains new and valuable information concerning the date of
Senmut's star map ..." - Erik Iversen, Dr.phil. h.c., Egyptologist, Professor, University of Copenhagen.

Ove von Spaeth: The Vanished Successor

Rediscovering Moses' Hidden War Leading to Exodus. - Assassinating Moses, vol. 3 .
Ancient texts and a variety of sources indicate that Moses was an exiled Egyptian prince who
repeatedly attempted to regain his claim to the throne of the pharaohs by availing of the context
of historic tensions then existing in the Middle East. - New light and understanding are now
brought to the image of Moses and this "forgotten feud". This book unfolds the unresolved
circumstances behind Moses’ extraordinary role in Egypt and the history of the Hebrews which
led to changes across the Middle East. Several rare and old sources reveal that in response to the
untimely coup that prevented Moses from ascending the throne of Egypt - a position for which,
according to ancient Jewish texts (‘Rabbinical Writings’), he had been designated and educated,
- he instigated a major rebellion with the aid of Hebrew immigrant workers and many Egyptians.
72
It was not until the end of this attempt that these peoples sought another land and their own
sovereignty. A realistic background is unfolded of the crossing over the Red Sea. For the first
time in the history of scholarship, larger contexts are developed of ancient mystery cults with
religious and magical contents and practices which were also politically active and powerful.
"... A trail-blazing work with revolutionary results ...an amazing experience every minute. - A high-
quality foundation that commands respect in every context ... ". - Jens Jorgensen, M.A., Historian,
former Headmaster, History Examiner at the Universities of Copenhagen, Aarhus and Odense.
"... An impressive work, fascinating reading: interdisciplinary research into the historical Moses. ...
ritical expert theologians have felt enormously offended by the fact that a non-theologian dares to
infringe on their territory and observes connections which are insignificant to them ...",
- Niels Aarup, M.A. (Theology), Vicar, - in Journal of the Vicars' Association.

Ove von Spaeth: The Secret Religion

Moses and the Egyptian Heritage in the Past and Present. -Assassinating Moses, vol. 4 .
Moses is the first known founder of a religion - and he has inspired several world religions.
Ancient sources reveal that his teachings originally included the 'mystery gold' from Egypt
and the secret of the god-name. - Exclusive, cultic knowledge from a mystical and cosmological
superstructure of Moses' religion is still evident in the Bible - and with connections to Egypt,
and coherences which were not possible to demonstrate until now. Through the ages, initiated
individuals upheld these secret teachings which were passed through Moses to the Israelites.
The Bible was also used a mystery text by initiates and a special language was encoded 'within'
the biblical texts. This was later forgotten - but were there others besides the traditional priests
who knew the 'Bible codes'? - Through later centuries, lay-people were prohibited of reading the
Bible which was placed at the top of the 'black list' ('Index Prohibitorum') by the Catholic Church.
Prior to that, hidden teachings had reappeared among Gnostics and in the Hermetic doctrines.
"... This is a recommendation, a recommendation of an unusual piece of work, and the adjective

Ove von Spaeth: Prophet and Unknown Genius

Illuminating Moses the Advanced Pioneer. - Assassinating Moses, vol. 5 .
Valuable findings about the Bible’s greatest prophet who was a highly educated Egyptian
prince and a claimant to the throne. He created an advanced code of law but many of his
revolutionary and visionary innovations were later ignored. - New knowledge about the real
73
person behind the myth and his influence as well as importance for our current cultural contexts.
Antiquity greatly esteemed Moses for his versatile talents as a military commander, inventor,
philosopher, mystic, magician, healer, and a learned astronomer.
The book utilizes and re-vitalizes unique material from new discoveries and finds, revealing
unknown aspects of the enigma of the historical Moses. As well, it uncovers Moses' far-ranging
and exceptional achievements as recorded in rare and ancient sources. The Mosaic Law, for
example, is a most advanced ancient code with remarkably modern elements: environmental
laws, social laws, asylum rights, human rights law, debt relief, animal protection, hygiene rules,
and military ethics. In addition, the book uncovers an astronomical background for the texts of
the Pentateuch which mention stars and celestial bodies, as well as his calendar for the Israelites.
The book contains a comprehensive presentation of historical relationships to the world's
first alphabet - the Sinai-alphabet - also indicated in the Bible which is the oldest book written
with the use of the alphabet. Moses is one of our early history's most insightful and spiritual
personalities. The book brings to life unique material about Moses' extraordinary and eventful
background in and outside of Egypt.
"... An impressive depiction of a man straddling the dividing line between history and prehistory and
who according to this congenial depiction actually created this line. - The sources as presented by the
author enable the reader to span vast distances in time, space, and argumentation. ..."
- Leo Hjortsoe, University Lecturer in Classical Philology, the University of Copenhagen.
(the book's chapters on the Moses Law:) "... Read with great interest - and in recognition of many fine
observations and details..." - Stig Jorgensen, LLD, Professor, Dept. of Jurisprudence, Aarhus University

New discovery in the world's oldest star map - the exceptional map by Senmut, the vizier
The author reveals that Senmut's 3,500-year-old star map - which was considered only to
show star mythology - discloses in detail an exact picture of a particular gathering of planets in
a defined celestial sector. This implies in itself information about a specific time. The decoding
can be verified objectively by modern astronomical computing. Similar planetary concept of the
same localization and precise placement can be seen ‘copied’ also on later Egyptian star maps.
The edition of Ove von Spaeth's treatise, essential for new orientation, originates from "Centaurus
International Magazine on The History of Mathematics, Science and Technology", 2000, vol.42,
pp.159-179: - his scientific pioneering work has gained genuine admiration and international
respect for its untraditional observations and finding solution of the special difficult problems
with decisive significance in ancient Egyptian astronomy and chronological perspectives.
In addition, it has supported research for an improved dating of Moses' historical period.
"... The findings are very ingenious and admirable, and quite surprising considering the apparent lack
of interest of the Egyptians in this sort of astronomy. ..."
- Owen Gingerich, Research Professor in Astronomy and the History of Science, The Harvard-
Smithsonian Institution, Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, Mass.
"... Your article on the Senmut ceiling, with so many interesting observations. ..."
- Erik Hornung, Professor Dr., Ägyptologisches Seminar der Universität Basel, Schweiz.
"... This important and fascinating paper, many congratulations on the research - it is a major advance.
- Sir Patrick Moore, D.Sc., Astronomer, CBE, FRAS, Science Editor for BBC.

The special archive on the Internet: www.moses-egypt.net
A greatly useful asset is the project’s website with archives’ collection of wide comprehensive
information and documentation established around Ove von Spaeth’s works and retrieval of
valuable material, sources and finds, often such that were by-passed by traditional research.
The website, established in November 1999, became early a success also in the book world
and achieved cult status on the web. On the website we can also read about the implicated
controversial research history, now open to posterity.

The web-archive contains hundreds of pages of related articles, - and the response: inter-
national book reviews of the author’s books, articles and e-books, - and from other public
opinion: feature articles, literary essays, debates, letters, additions, recommendations and
disapprovals, questions, documentations and bibliographies. Not least, accumulated interest
has appeared about this web-site’s research-related factual information.

On the Project
Advanced ancient knowledge - being a renewed asset for our own era
Although we do not in general reflect on the experience which we on a daily basis draw from
a special kind of wealth, we all profit by the fact that our modern society undergoing rapid
change yet ms have the connection retained to Antiquity’s great high-level cultures in the best
way possible. Much of the ancient information from important historical cultures can in the
present often be seen being confused with myth. To provide further knowledge on these areas
Ove von Spaeth has carried out this project of a widely comprising culture-historical span.
Thus in order to hand over and to understand the important basis for our own culture this
research is so important: Zenith IC Project was established to disseminate and extend the
discoveries and results achieved through the author’s explorations on the knowledge treasure
and wisdom and not least of Moses’ special Egyptian background all meticulously examined.

Ove von Spaeth’s research is conducted as a reflective and renewing asset for our own era.
He uses far-reaching focus on ancient wisdom and celestial knowledge of past major cultures
and their concepts of the ‘secrets of the universe’. His books and articles are continuously
documenting essential but sometimes underexposed sources of historical information.
Many of these appear as key elements of our cultural heritage and its associated spiritual
resource, indispensable to our historical insight and the benefits of those values in the present.
In addition, many of these subjects are also disseminated through the author’s e-books from
this online library: http://www.moses-egypt.net/zenith-files_en/e-books_group 1_en.asp .

” The author’s works were created to extend the
understanding of discoveries and results achieved from
unusual research: a thoroughly documented discovery
book-series which explores rediscovered parts of our
early cultural heritage of significance for history of today.
Our author opens up the important treasure trove of
knowledge and wisdom from Greece, Rome and
the Renaissance and the original sources in ancient
Egypt - to be seen in the light of modern science. ”

“ With his interdisciplinary authorship Ove von Spaeth

has also uncovered special traces in overlooked
or forgotten knowledge of our early historical basis.
Without such necessary research of exciting sources and
significant finds, we would today often lose important
links to ancient information and knowledge, in the
tradition of which we all live daily. - A considerable
collection of the author's books and articles are
now further accessible in multiple media. “

“ Our knowledge of the past is much more abundant

than normally anticipated. Many concrete historical data
about what we frequently call myths are available in many
of the world's libraries and museums - unfortunately,
not often studied, simply gathering dust. The author's
project comprises new-orientation in the collected
data which were in jeopardy of 'disappearing'. The
traces are revealed in a surprisingly new light through
his books’ constantly turning prism of history. “

About this book

* The 1200-year-old pilgrimage route in Spain leading to Santiago's famous relic

has always had clear allusions to the ideas of "stairway to the stars". The ancient route
is still mentioned with the star-connected name Via Lacta, the 'Milky Way'. A similar
route with relationships to the stars can be seen in England.

* Ancient History is replete with examples of that the celestial "geography" was
considered as being reflected on the Earth. Similar relations are also appearing in the
Bible. It can be demonstrated that such hidden layers for codified readings contain
references of astronomical subjects - even on a spiritual level with a mental "sky map",
which also should be understood as a projection of an inner journey of the mind.

* The New Testament narrative on St. Paul's voyage to Rome is filled with strange
details. Here it is of particularly interest that many of the sites of which St. Paul
passed bore names that were known also as names of the stars in the sky.

* A special pattern, hitherto hidden, now becomes visible. In the text appears, in
fact, the case of a bilayer which on the surface reproduces St. Paul's narrative but
deeper, simultaneously, also for the initiated people restored a special account,
which was related to the mystery cults’ the esoteric teachings on the stars.
