As we gain more and more curiosity about something, it will be the spark of getting something
new and find interest about it. Curiosity is the main driver of innovation and when you are
curious, you find many things to do. The things we had today would not been invented without
curiosity. Because of curiosity, we seek for the unexplained, think and create what has not been
created and discover things. It’s because out of curiosity the light bulb today wouldn’t be
functional and efficient at all without the curiosity of Thomas Edison as he was thinking ways
and curious about developing the light bulb at his time. After so many experiment and tried so
many things he created an efficient light bulb and discover that tungsten is the most efficient
material as a filament because it can withstand the heat produced by the electric current.
2. According to the speaker what are some ways in maximizing curiosity that we’re not
mentioned during the class discussion?
Ms. Tara Connor did a very good discussion about curiosity and it gives us very important points
for us to maximize our curiosity. According to her, we can maximize our curiosity by being
skeptic. If we had questions in our head, we do not need to be afraid asking those questions
because it might help us develop our thinking. Also for us to maximize our curiosity, we must
identify our interests, because if we have a deep passion for something or interest about a
particular matter you give more attention to it and it drives you to do research and look for
others to collaborate with.
