Activity 2 - Short Response On The Story of Beowulf

Beowulf decided to free the Danes from Grendel for three reasons: 1) His father owed a debt to Hrothgar, the king of the Danes; 2) His father was good friends with Hrothgar; and 3) Beowulf was a heroic and selfless warrior. Beowulf's hardest adventure was his first challenge of fighting Grendel without weapons or armor, since Grendel was also unarmed. The story of Beowulf reveals that during this period, the Danes' customs and beliefs relied heavily on faith in gods, and foreign religions were beginning to spread.
