About the Product
IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer
IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer is an end-user analysis tool that empowers business users to
view, modify, extend or analyze their report data "on-demand" and without adding any IT
overhead. It is an easy-to-use, GUI-driven analysis tool that delivers self-service analysis
capabilities.

IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer's user-friendly drag-and-drop functionality enables business

users to modify data visualization in real-time reports. This analysis tool gives users the
flexibility to view information easily in a variety of graphical and tabular formats.
IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer enables users to analyze any report element, including Pivot
Tables & Charts, and also export reports to a variety of formats, including HTML, XML,
Excel, RTF, Ms Word, Text, PDF, etc.

IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer also has a spreadsheet-like interface that allows users to
perform basic and advanced analysis on the fly. Complete with powerful grouping, charting
and ad hoc analysis capabilities, IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer empowers business users
with real-time operational business analysis. IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer is available as a
thick-client solution for desktops and as a web-based solution that provides all the
interactivity and advanced data analysis capabilities of the client over the browser

What is new in IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer

Version 4.1
The following are the new features in IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer:

Date Analytics

“Date Analytics” feature enables user to specify certain settings like Start of quarter, Start
of week and Hour Format before Grouping by Calendar. “Group by Calendar” feature will
take these settings from Date Analytics to group the report.

New Chart Engine

IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer introduces a new charting module that empowers users with
enhanced data visualization capabilities.

About the guide
Overview
This guide describes how to install IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer. It also presents system
hardware and software requirements for running the IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer.

Note: This document explains the installation and configuration of

IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer. The Installation and uninstallation steps
discussed in this document are common to the versions 4.1.

Audience
This guide is intended for a network administrator, a system administrator, or any other
person called upon to install the IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer at your company. The person
carrying out installation should have standard skills for administration of Windows
platforms, in addition to a basic knowledge of the products in the IntelliVIEW product line.

System Requirements
Overview
IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer has been designed for installation on the Microsoft Windows
Platform. This section lists the IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer system requirements.

The IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer and associated support files have the following installation
requirements.

Hardware Requirements
Pentium Pentium IV or above

RAM 512 MB or above

Hard Disk Space 500 MB hard disk space for the executable
program, help files and samples

Software Requirements
Operating System Windows 2000/Windows XP/Windows NT

Browser Internet Explorer 6.0 SP2

Intranet/Internet Access recommended

To view report in OCX In Internet Explorer, Security Settings: ‘Download

Signed ActiveX Control’ should be enabled.

Installing IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer
Installation Overview
IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer Installation Wizard helps you install IntelliVIEW Report
Analyzer through step-by-step process.

Previous Installations
Use the following cases to determine your installation option when you have IntelliVIEW
Report Analyzer previous version installed in your machine.

Case 1: Earlier version of IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer exists

On a machine with earlier version of IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer installing current version
of IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer pops up a message box to upgrade the previous version.
Click Yes to proceed with the current version of IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer installation or
No to cancel the installation.

Case 2: Current version of Report Analyzer exist

On a machine with the current version of IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer, installing again
current version of IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer pops up an alert box with a message to
uninstall the current version. Click Yes to uninstall, No to abort the setup.

Installation process
To install, double click on the IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer setup file and follow the
installation instructions.

Anytime during installation,

ƒ Click Cancel to abort the installation.

ƒ Click Back to move to previous installation screen.

Step 1 Welcome Screen
The installation of IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer starts with the Welcome Screen. Click Next
to install IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer.

Click Next to proceed with the installation.

Step 2 License Agreement

Read through the license agreement before proceeding further with the installation.

Select I accept the terms of the license agreement option and click Next to proceed
with the installation.

If you select I do not accept the terms of the license agreement option, Next button
remains disabled. This restricts you from proceeding with the installation.

Click Next to proceed with the installation.

Step 3 License Key Entry

The User information and the license key are entered during this part of the installation
process. Type your User Name, Company Name, Email and FREE TRIAL License Key (or)
Full License in the relevant fields.

Click Next to proceed with the installation.

Customer Information

Note: Once you register for a product download, serial numbers are sent
by email. If you have not registered yet, please click Get Serial Number
button.

If the license key is invalid, the following message box displays:

Click OK to close the message box.

Step 4 Destination Location

The installation option is selected during the installation process. Select an option from
the ‘Install this application for’ and click Next to proceed with the installation.

The following are the options in ‘Install this application for’:

ƒ Anyone who uses this computer (all users) - The installed Designer can be
used by anyone who uses this computer
ƒ Only for me () – The installed Designer can be used only by the Administrator

If you choose not to install the software in the default installation directory, then specify
the directory for installation using the Browse… button.

If you choose to install IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer in the default installation directory,
then click Next to proceed with the installation.

Step 5 Copying Files

The files are copied into the installation directory. Click Next to install IntelliVIEW Report
Analyzer in the specified directory.

The setup installs the installation files in the specified directory.

Step 7 Installation Completed
The setup completes the installation of IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer. Select the necessary
option from the Installation Complete Screen and click on Finish.

The following are the options:

ƒ I would like to view the README file – Check this option to view the
IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer ReadMe file.
ƒ I would like to launch IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer – Check this option to
open the IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer Application.

Note: ReadMe and Release Notes can be accessed from the IntelliVIEW
Report Analyzer installation directory.

Getting Started
Starting IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer
1. Click the Start menu, choose Programs > IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer >
IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer 4.1.

Note: Along with the installation, the sample IntelliVIEW files will be
stored in \Program Files\ IntelliVIEW | IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer\
Samples directory. Click on any of the report with any of the following file
extensions – ivwr (report file), ivwd (data file). This will open the report in
IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer.

Uninstalling IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer
The following are the steps to uninstall IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer:

1. Click Start Menu | Settings | Control Panel, select Add/Remove

Programs.

2. Add/Remove Programs Properties screen displays.

3. Select Report Analyzer from the installed components list and click
Change/Remove button.

4. InstallShield wizard appears and guides you through the uninstallation

process.

5. A message box appears with the uninstall confirmation message. Click Yes to
uninstall Report Analyzer and No to abort the setup.

6. Once the Uninstall process is over, Uninstall Completed screen appears.

Note: If the IntelliVIEW Report Analyzer application is open, uninstallation

wizard will pop-up a message box to close the application and retry the
uninstallation process.
