SCHOOL DROP OUTS: FACT OR FALLACY?

ABSTRACT
Education has a great impact into an individual’s life. In the Philippines,
education is valued enough as it is believe as having opportunities that would
ensure a good future and eventually lift them out of poverty. The purpose of the
study is to explore the factors that cause the students to dropout from school. The
research finds out and identifies the factors that cause the students to dropout in
a public school of Zamboanga. The researchers identified the causes by visiting the
homes of Grade 6 students who stopped schooling and determine reasons by
distributing survey and conducting depth interviews. By this, factors that were
determined is more likely to show the of impacts of poverty through the
individuals in the Mountain of Barangay in Zamboanga.
