Hello Trinitarians.
My name is BLU, and I will be your facilitator.

Animation is one of the hardest discipline in multimedia and visual arts. Students will learn the
fields of discipline in animation such as basic drawing and illustration, visual directing and film
editing, skills that will be used to create their own animated short film, portfolios, and
marketing collaterals.

In this lesson, you will learn about the concept underlying the principle of animations. Before
we proceed, I want you to draw the person you want to be with. The Drawing must have
face, hands and feet of that person and think it looks like.

Clean-up drawings
 These are clean and finely rendered line art versions of the key drawings that are
achieved by following the keys and closely adhering to the model sheets found in
the production materials.

3 drawings at different stages:

Basic shapes and volumes Rough detailing Final clean-up

Requirements for clean-up drawings


1. Key animation or key drawings are poses drawn by animator, representing the
action and narrative required by the scene or sequence.

2. Lay-out is a guide to the positions of elements in the scene, their size and relationship
to each other, and the location of the scene.

3. Exposure Sheet: A chart that shows frame by frame all drawings of every animated
scene.

4. Model Sheet - (Turnarounds, expressions, and mouth charts) is a reference sheet of
an animator that shows how a character is constructed and how they would pose.

5. Story Board – Is the visual narrative of the script in the form of thumbnail drawings
that show the different scenes organized in a sequence of panels.
