1
PROJECT BACKGROUND

Provide factual information about the context of the problem or opportunity to be

addressed. This section should present a logical analysis that justifies the conduct of
the project.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT

Who are likely to benefit from the output of the project?

2
PROJECT OBJECTIVES

What are the objectives of the project? Be sure these objectives are stated in very
specific and measurable terms. Ideally, the objectives should define a desired and
realistic solution to the identified problem or opportunity.

PROJECT OUTPUTS & PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

List down and briefly describe the outputs to be produced for the achievement of each of
the project objectives. Outputs are results or products that are “delivered” in order to
ensure project success. Several outputs may be necessary to attain an objective. In
this section, and for each desired output, specify performance indicators. Performance
indicators spell out the desired quality, nature and/or content of the expected output.

3
PROJECT BUDGET

The project inputs and their costs should be consolidated into a project budget which
should be detailed on a spreadsheet (provide as attachment) and broken down by
relevant time period under the following headings: project personnel; materials &
supplies; travel, transportation & communication; printing & reproduction; capital
expenditure; and contingency. A summary should be provided below.

WORK PLAN

The work plan should include a network diagram (PERT) indicating the logical order and
relationships among the project activities, as well as a Gantt chart showing the detailed
project activities/tasks, project milestones and activity durations (provide as
attachments). A summary should be provided below. For purposes of this summary,
indicate only the major activities, milestone indicators, and target completion dates for
these milestones.

4
PROJECT ORGANIZATION

Provide an overview of the organization and personnel requirements of the project.

Divide your presentation into three parts: (1) project management & organization; (2)
manpower; (3) training and development. Under project management & organization,
describe how the project will be managed, identify key personnel and their roles, specify
authority relationships. It would be ideal to include an organization chart. Under
manpower, provide an estimate of the workforce requirements in terms of skills,
expertise and strategies for recruiting or sourcing qualified people. Under training and
development, provide a summary of the personnel training necessary to support the
project.

project team members.
