Linear and Quadratic Equations With Word Problems

This document discusses linear and quadratic equations with one variable. It defines key terms like equation, linear equation, quadratic equation, solution, and solution set. It then explains how to solve linear equations by finding the value that satisfies the equation. For quadratic equations, it outlines two methods: factoring if the equation is factorable, or using the quadratic formula. Examples are provided to illustrate each type of equation and solving method.
