I think some very popular and memorable TV advertisements are the adverts from the mobile company
“Orange”. There’s just a form of humour which takes place through 2 so-called “friends”, Millidge and
Dog, which is easy to understand and catches your eye right off the bat. Therefore, because of the
interesting characters used in the advert, it’s quite a successful advert. It just demands your attention
while the 2 characters are on the screen!
1.2
This is an easy one. The “9/10 experts recommend the specific product” adverts are by far the worst
type of advertisements in my opinion. They seem so fake because maybe they are, in fact, fake. Also,
what made the 10th expert to NOT recommend the product.
1.3
Well, a printed advertisement works like any other advert. At the end of the day, the company is still
promoting their products. Thing is, television adverts tend to be more flashy and eye-catching since,
while both can use “in your eye” colors and photos, television adverts can also make the photos move,
therefore catching the viewer’s attention way better than a printed one.
4.1
Depends on the product really. If the advert was nice, but at the same time I don’t care or don’t need
that certain product, of course, I would pass. But I think one more important factor is the company’s
reputation. For example, if I were to see a cool and interesting advertisement for a new phone, but had
a product from the same company some time ago and realized it’s of a poor quality, of course, I
wouldn’t go out of my way to buy that product just because its advertisement was good. Same thing
applies vice-versa. If the advertisement is boring, but the company is reputable and I also had a good
experience with their products, I would buy it regardless of the boring advert.
4.2
Yes and no. Indeed there’s a lot of advertisement these days, but the thing is only bigger companies get
more screen time, while adverts from smaller companies wouldn’t be advertised as often as their bigger
competitions. As for the quantity, I don’t think it has changed for the past couple of years. It doesn’t
seem like it’s too much or too little, it’s just sufficient.
4.3
I’d say it gives the consumer more options regarding a certain product. Sometimes, I feel like there’s
even way too many options to choose from, but I’d rather prefer to have more options and trying out all
of them for myself and decide what’s best for me, than having fewer options.
4.4
I think I dislike Telekom advertisements quite a lot. I just hate when companies try to create new words
or trying to be influential as if they are so important and powerful. I might be nitpicking, but when a
company tries to “translate” words from English in Romanian, while also adding their own dumb twist, is
quite annoying, for me at least.
