In details:

Dialing plan
Dialing plan contains instructions related to dialing strings used for setting up connections in private networks.
Operator of the exchange can suit flexibly his requirements to the possibilities provided by the exchange with the
help of the dialing plan.

Strings used for establishing a connection can be the following:

Set of the possible

Name Description
values
Directory number
Dialing number (assigned to a device, application, or hunt group)
(DN)
Service access code (for extension (Feature) or network (e.g.
Access code
Trunk access) service)
Destination (steering)
Route (selection) code
code

Unique dialing plan of BCM 50 is based on some - mostly standardized - numbering schemes.

BCM 50 trunks - Trunk lines of BCM 50 can be connected to:

Private network
Public network - The dialing plan must also contain then strings applied in public networks.

BCM 50 networks

There are numerous private networks, that can be realized from BCM exchanges. They are the following:

MCDN - Meridian Customer Detailed Networking.

DPNSS -
ETSI -
ETSI QSIG
DMS-100/DMS-250

Handling of incoming calls:

BCM 50 supports both the two operation modes - with or without an operator.

PBX system - a switch-off by the operator

General - general part of the dialing plan

DNs - internal dialing numbers; (external dialing numbers)
Public Network - a part of the dialing part related to the public networks
Private Network - a part of the dialing part related to the private networks
Line pools - In case of outgoing calls we can assign codes and devices to the line pools (outgoing trunks). Only
devices assigned to pools can initiate an outgoing call.
Routing - Programming of routes of outgoing calls.

Access tab, too.

Dialing plan - Routing - Routes - Handling of outgoing calls

When we call an external dialing number, we must select a trunk we want to build up the call through. In BCM 50
routing will happen on the following two basic ways:

Basic telephony routing - line-pool with an access code

Tandem routing - direct access (without an access code) of the external dialing numbers applying CDP and
destination codes.
Programming happens with filling out the following two tables.
