Plastic Shrinkage Cracking: Bleed Water Evaporation Nomograph Formula

This document provides a nomograph formula and example for calculating the evaporation rate of concrete to determine the risk of plastic shrinkage cracking. The nomograph uses variables like air temperature, concrete temperature, relative humidity, and wind velocity to determine the evaporation rate in kg/m2/hr. The example shows that if conditions lead to an evaporation rate above the maximum allowable limit of 1.0 kg/m2/hr, plastic shrinkage cracking is highly probable. It provides references for more information on predicting and preventing plastic shrinkage cracking in concrete.
