1. What is the importance of planning especially in Police Organization?

Give an
example.
The importance of planning especially on Police Organization was combining all aspects of
the public safety activity and the realistic anticipation of future problems, the analysis of
strategy and the correlation of strategy to detail.

2. Why does coordinating important within and outside of an organization?

Coordinating makes harmonious adjustment to give things and actions their proper
proportions and relationships.  It is also important in an organization because this is the
process of binding the activities and resources of all the different departments within an
organization with the goal of achieving a single-minded objective. When an organization
fails to coordinate, it also complicates the processes and delays the completion of projects
an organization has to deliver. In the long run, the consequences can be damaging not just
to the organization but also to the members’ morale.

3.  Explain the different staffing activities: RECRUITMENT, SELECTION, APPRAISAL,

TRAINING and DEVELOPMENT.

 Recruitment -  refers to the overall process of identifying, attracting, screening,

shortlisting, and interviewing, suitable candidates for jobs (either permanent or
temporary) within an organization.
 Selection - Selection is the stage of the recruiting cycle at which superiors choose
candidates who will be offered employment from the applicant pool. The selection
process varies greatly, depending on the size of the hiring organization, the number
of applicants and the amount of available positions.
 Appraisal - the classification of someone or something with respect to its worth. Also
the act of estimating or judging the nature or value of something or someone.
 Training - Training is teaching, or developing in oneself or others, any skills and
knowledge or fitness that relate to specific useful competencies. Training has specific
goals of improving one's capability, capacity, productivity and performance.
 Development - is a process that creates growth, progress, positive change or the
addition of physical, economic, environmental, social and demographic components.

4. In your own word, how will you define  "planning"?

Planning is nothing but thinking before the action takes place. It helps us to take a peep
into the future and decide in advance the way to deal with the situations, which we are
going to encounter in future. It involves logical thinking and rational decision making. It is
an intellectual process which lays down an organisation’s objectives and develops various
courses of action, by which the organisation can achieve those objectives. It chalks out
exactly, how to attain a specific goal. Planning improve future performance, by establishing
objectives and selecting a course of action, for the benefit of the organization.
