Interview Me

This pairwork speaking activity can be used to revise question words and personal
information questions.

Before class, make one copy of the worksheet for every two students. Cut the worksheet as
indicated.

Procedure

Give out a copy of the worksheet A and B to each pair of students.

Students use the question words to complete the questions.

Do the first question as an example, showing them that they should cross out each question
word as they use it.

Answers for both A and B.

1. When
2. How often
3. Where
4. What kind
5. How many
6. What
7. What time
8. Who
9. Why
10. What
11. Which
12. How much

When everyone has finished, check the answers as a class.

Students then pair off and ask their questions. Student A asks all their questions to student
B. Then they swap roles.

Students should write down their partner’s answers next to the question.

Encourage students to ask follow-up questions. This will help the interview become a series
of mini-conversations.

Ask each student to give feedback with one interesting fact about his or her partner.
